There is a bunch of things on sale but the grinder was what I'm interested in.
Has been cheaper for the grinder but this includes delivery price or click and collect.

The RRP price is outrageous. We got the Bambino Plus for about $360 from TGG Commercial. The RRP on that is ludicrous as well.
Yeah I bought the Bambino Plus just after Christmas for the $360 - it's now $500 on GGC… Crazy price difference
We could've got the grinder to $215 but looked at the under $200 prices and decided to wait. Not our best move.
@try2bhelpful: Same with me. I had been eyeing the SGP since earlier this year. It was ~$215 from DJ but I was being delusional thinking it would go under $200. Finally bought it for $239 using eBay 20% off last month. But can't complaint with the product - has been absolutely amazing.
Very good price. Would have certainly pulled the trigger on one myself, but sadly missed the offer.
@OrderedChaos: It is a good machine. I wasn't sure if we would justify it, but it has been a good choice.
@try2bhelpful: When did you buy the Bambino Plus for $360 btw?
@foxes28: October last year.
@try2bhelpful: Anywhere to get it for something close to that price now?? And not $500+??
@monkeytrooper: Not that I’m aware of. It is a bit like the grinder, hard to believe the price has jumped up that high.
@try2bhelpful: Yeah that’s what I thought. Have kept looking, was looking at getting access to TGGC but if it’s $500 on there as well no point.
Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻
honestly who still shops at Myer
We buy stuff that's being cleared but only when it stacks with good cashback. Some stuff like Clarks kids shoes don't seem to get decently discounted at many online stores so we end up buying from Myer. Usually there is enough cheap stuff to take us over the free delivery threshold.
I do if they have the lowest price I can find. They also are pretty good at price matching other companies as well.
does this item auto tamp for you? I couldn't find any description for tamping for this item.
It does not.
Better doing it by hand, more control over the end result.
I'd recommend a height adjustable palm tamper. Very easy to tamp consistently with one.
This is what I use:

Not much on actual sale
I remember the good old days when these used to be on sale for $150-180 regularly.
Me too, but we haven't had these discounts for a little while.
I think there was either JB or TGG recently that had this for 189 or so.
$249 is basically full price….
It depends on what you call "recently". I don't think I've seen it that price this year. Happy for the link if you have it.
@try2bhelpful: yeah… 'recently' was probably end of last year i.e. a few months ago. I guess my perspective of time is different to most. It does suck that they've gone up in price so much…
Wake up mate. $249 was full price 1-2 years ago. Not today.
@foxes28: Not sure why you were negged it’s true.
@try2bhelpful: Haha some people are just too sensitive or can't handle the truth. I mean if you disagree, at least counter my argument with something factual
@foxes28: https://www.breville.com/au/en/products/coffee-grinders/bcg8…
Yup, $429 on the Breville site. Maybe they are dyslexic.
@foxes28: I ended up buying this and deciding I’ll skip going out to an expensive restaurant. That way I can pretend I got it cheaper :).
@try2bhelpful: Good on you mate! I guess it's too late for you now but for anyone interested, take advantage of the Special gift card deal to get an additional $20 off
@foxes28: Still seems to be the $249 price. The gift card deal might, still, work if you get it quickly enough.
the RRP of breville products went up big time, so unlikely to see it at those prices any more.
Oh wow, for some reason I thought maybe this was a new version or something because yeah, I remember this would have a deal at like $160-180 almost monthly.
My grinder died last week after 1.5 years of operation at about 3 coffees per day. Thankfully it has a 2 year replacement warranty and the store I bought from (The Good Guys) replaced it on the spot with 0 fuss.
Great grinder for the price but just a heads up that it isn't made to last. Have read a lot of similar stories of the grinder failing after a couple of years.
Good reason to buy using my Platinum card.
Ours died right probably a day or two after 2 years elapsed. I got it from the Breville outlet store as a refurbished model for $160 maybe about 3 years ago. At the time I said I would be happy if it lasted 2 years as I had also read those stories. Maybe it can be fixed but I haven't had time to open it up and see what's going on. I think the main gear has worn away and needs to be replaced.
Right now we're using the built in grinder on the Breville Barista Express and we're wondering where to go if that dies. We've had it for maybe seven years so we could upgrade the whole lot. In the current climate, I can't see this grinder coming down to a price range where it's almost "disposable".
Should I get this one if I just grind 50 grams of coffee (cold brew, so coarse) every three days? I don't want another thing sitting on my kitchen bench being used just under 3 times per week. What are my options? Are there any decend electric, handheld coffee grinders?
Thanks

This one gets good reviews but it isn’t cheap.
Dang :O
I have this one (holiday house 3 or 4 years old), it's great, precise but very expensive now.
The other one i have is the aldi one( main house) . Similar sized base(much smaller beans hopper), no display, but does a great job too. Purchased the aldi one when it went on clearance for $49 and so far has been going strong for about 5 years.Aldi tend to sell them twice a year for around $99 but around a month later they put them as clearance.
Breville one looks much better than the aldi one.
Mines been going strong for 5+ years, 2 coffees per day.
Precise grind time, digital display and memory functions are useful.
Begrudgingly gave up on waiting for 2020 prices. Also had a voucher and there’s nothing else to buy from Myer
Will this grind fine enough for Turkish coffee?
Not according to some sites but I'm not an expert.
However this site thinks so.

Amazon appears to have price matched
Thanks! Been eyeballing this grinder since the price hike. This is probably the cheapest ive seen given the circumstances. Purchased this using a gift card that was gifted to me. Paid $149 out of pocket. Not too bad.
It is good to use up the gift vouchers.
Was LOL at the $429 RRP.
But turns out $249 at the moment is okay, especially with Myer…
So got one for my parents. cost roughly $70 ($100 - $20 - $5 - $5), plus $149 worth of points (about 31,000).
That could grind a lot of ummm oregano at parties and that.
I don’t think you need that precise a grind for your “oregano”, particularly by the end of the night.
RRP $429… ouch, Myer! I didn't pay much more for my BES870.
