        • Well if it has gsync moudle then there will not be ps5 or xbx compatble due to lack of hdmi 2.1. For me its better having hdmi2.1 so I can at least switch between pc and console. Again the g3223q has the freesync prem so technically it has gsync but without certification from nvidia.

          • @pq8382: I don't want it for console. I want it for pc gaming. And it can't technicaly have freesync without nvidia cert as it won 't show up in the nvidia cp to even connect. Others say it does show up for connection but the black screen issue is nvidia driver issue. Doesn't make any sense and with so many sold not a single english review and people that actually own one in the forums can't get their story straight regarding issues and nvidia certification.

            • @Kmartsecurityguard: I purchased 1. It will show Nvidia Gsync connection, even without a official certificate that's normal. But there is a chance it won't work with Nvidia cards while gaming correctly, unless you take it from 4:4:4 to 4:2:2 . My guess is that eventually Dell will take care of this blinking bug on a future firmware monitor update. I'm using a Rx 6800 xt so I'm not effected by the bug.

              https://youtu.be/PVyj2ljAtnw

              • @CheapOjoe: Thanks for info but dropping a 4k monitor to 4:2:2 isn't going to cut it for the price tag, especially as I have a 3080 and for $800+ it's not a chance I'm prepared to take for a monitor that knowingly black screens using nvidia gpu's. Looking at all the marketing for the monitor as well Dell has made certain to not use the words "Gsync" anywhere that I can see. Usually if a monitor supports Gsync officially gsync is mentioned numerous times. It might show up under the cp for you because freesync has the option built in to the software but it 100% does not have official certification from nvidia after further research hence the black screens. Damn shame too.

                • @Kmartsecurityguard: Yes I know it doesn't "officially" support g sync and I agree it should at that price. But there are hundreds of monitors out there available now that do not officially support Gsync and do not mention gsync anywhere on their tech specs only freesync and are much cheaper than this one yet they work just fine with Gsync. That's why I believe it will work eventually with this monitor.

                    @CheapOjoe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVyj2ljAtnw&ab_channel=%EA%B…
Just install the G3223Q, confirm that it has the same behavior like the youtube video above. For me I'm just testing with LoL, either fullscreen/window will result in flickering every 5-10 second, obviously unplayable. The solution is also as mentioned in the video, change to Ybr 4:2:2 and it's disappear.
With the monitor support AMD Freesync Pro, I think it's about the nvidia driver mess up the monitor.
So yeah, if you Nvidia GPU there is high chance that your monitor will have the same issue when turn on g-sync (there are people didn't experience that, but don't bet your luck), and change to 4:2:2 is the solution for now and wait for Dell to do something about it. Hard to believe G3223D have G-sync and this model don't. If you have Nvidia GPU and can't stand 4:2:2 (no difference for me tbh lol) then yes, this monitor is not for you.

                    • @Masticccc: Yeah, I really don't understand why everyone is hating on 4:2:2. It's a solid solution if it works.

                • @Kmartsecurityguard: I know someone that has a 3080 I will use the 3080 with this monitor and run extensive tests. When I get my hands on the monitor. And I will report back here.

If anyone out there has a g3223Q and a Nvidia card share your experience.

                  • @CheapOjoe: I'm so tempted honestly to get it, I've wanted a 32" 4K 144hz monitor for years, the only other option was the rediculously priced asus that has mini led and cost nearly 4k. I dunno, right now I'm of two minds and can't make a decission without someone that owns one with a 30 series gpu that can difinitively report back with real experience.

                  • @CheapOjoe: I have set up my G3223Q now and in my limited testing can confirm the screen flickering with a 2070S. Very annoying. I can't deal with the slight chromatic aberration around text when set to 4:2:2 so I just turn GSync off since I really only play LoL and it works. 4:4:4 + GSync also seems to work if HDR is turned off but prefer the colours. It's a very "green" image though so I adjusted the green gamma channel in the Nvidia settings. Seems like quite a few compromises tbh but as Masticccc mentioned, there's really no other affordable 32" 4K 144hz with decent colour out there apart from the M32U.

                    • @duwee: Yep glad I didn't get one I got a second Dell s2721dgf from the promo the other day instead. I appreciate the feedback even though it wasn't directed at me

Does anyone know how long this promo runs for?

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/689988
Last deal was 22 Mar - 4 Apr, and only G3223Q sold out before promo end. So it should be similar this time with promo end around first few days of May.

    • +1

      May 5.

  • Yep can now officially confirm that the G3223Q does not support Gsync. From Dell AU own website https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-au/000131820/dell-amd-…

And I quote - Note: Using G-Sync with a monitor that is not found in the above list can lead to issues like flickering, blanking, and more. For information about troubleshooting these issues. And the G3223Q is Not mentioned in the list.

    R. I. P. What a wasted opportunity, surprisingly the non 4K Variant does support Gsync G3223D and has it plastered all over the marketing materials accordingly so I might go for that instead.

    • +1

You might not want to go for the g3223d unless you are going to seat very far away at least 1.5m from the monitor 91.79 PPI on 1440p same as a 24inch 1080p monitor. It's not sharp enough in my opinion and you can see pixels up close.

      1080p 24 inch 92 ppi
      1440p 27 inch 108 ppi
      1440p 32 inch 91 ppi
      4k 32 inch 140 ppi
      4k oled 48 inch 91 ppi

Yes there is a very noticeable difference between 92ppi and 108ppi at normal desk viewing distance

      • +1

Fair call and good advice I actually forgot about that. I've decided to pass on everything for now. My dell 27" 165hz monitor I bought from a dea (highly rated forgot the dell model no)l last year I is still fine.

I just been wanting a 4k 32" 144hz for years and every time the manufacturer stuffs something. Be it this awesome dell with gsync or Asus with their mini LED with that damn near 4k price tag and no HDMI 2.1 ports. There's the gigabyte 4k 32" 144hz but that's only her 400 certified and still more expensive than this dell.

        I'll just wait it out.

        • S2721DGF aka the dream of everyone in this monitor sub (with 399$ discounted price)?

        • Also if you want a 4k 32' 144Hz, G-sync compatible (official), HDR600, HDMI 2.1 full bandwidth then the cheapest I can find is MSI Optix MPG321UR-QD, which is 1599$, nearly twice the dell price.
In the end, you need to accept the 4:2:2 setting to run g-sync on the dell, pay x2 that price for the msi, or continue the waiting game as u said xD

    • That's why 27 inch 1440p is considered the sweet spot by many for 1440p because of the 108 ppi and it's not as hard to run as 4k. Any bigger 1440p at desk viewing distance it's not so sweet anymore

    • I would recommend this S2721DGF over the g3223d

      • +1

That's the one I have, got it in a deal a while ago absolutely bangin' price too paid $398 for it. Great monitor

  • Hi All,

I need your help to pick the right monitor for me and your advise will be extremely valuable. Unfortunately, I have limited knowledge about the monitors and thanks to this community I managed to get some basic understanding of the market.

I want to buy monitor for work / study purposes (engineering and some coding) and maybe in the future I might do a bit of gaming with this monitor (less likely). Key factors for me: big screen (very important for productivity), good quality for long term usage to not hurt my eyes but not too expensive/overkill. I am not doing professional photo editing and will be using monitor for MacBook Pro and MSI laptops.

    Currently, attracted by 2 models:

    1. S3422DWG 550AUD (curved - less stress on eyes, better in brightness, response time, etc. It has the same colour accuracy despite being VA)
    2. 34" LG 34WN750-B WQHD IPS 499AUD (flat -good for drawing, not sure what advantage it brings with IPS when based on specs they it has same colour accuracy as DELL)

Any alternatives that you would recommend me?

    Please help me.

    • +1

Out of the 2 the LG 34wn is specifically made for work , study , productivity, IPS has better colours. and it's suitable for small amounts of casual gaming.

S3422DWG. Is more of gaming monitor Faster refresh rate, higher contrast "deeper blacks" but colours are not that good.

This is based on hands on experience.

      Alternatives

For ultrawides at that $500/600 prices there isn't many other choices.

The most popular choice available now on this deal for study and work is the S2722QC , 4k , ips and has usb c connection which is essential by many.

1 usb c cable is all you need to connect your MacBook to this monitor and the monitor will display video and charge your MacBook at the same time.

If I were you I would rather buy 2 S2722QC. I prefer the higher resolution and usb c connection instead of 1 LG 34wn ,plus I'm not really into ultrawide but that's just a personal preference.

      • Thank you very much indeed for your detailed honest answer. I really appreciate you for sharing your hands on experience with colour accuracy of S3422DWG!

I have a follow up question and I would be very thankful if you can answer it. Sorry if it is a dumb question.

When both VA and IPS monitors have the same max number of colours, will IPS monitor still outperform VA panel (in terms of better colours)?

I really liked your suggested alternative option and it is solid monitor. Now, I will weight the benefits of getting LG34wn for 499 vs 2 S2722QC for 738AUD.

        • +2

Short answer yes. A good quality IPS will have a higher quality colour reproduction compared to a VA with similar colour specifications

      • Just wanted to let you know that I purchased 2 S2722QC. Thanks for your help!

  • How does this compare to the Dell Ultrawide?

    https://www.centrecom.com.au/lg-34wp60c-b-34-ultrawide-qhd-1…

  • We're thinking of purchasing: AW3423DW $1839.20.

Is this easy to return if there is a change of mind?

    • +1

think more carefully before purchase lol

  • Does anyone have issues getting it posted to Parcel collect or at the post office. I have ordered before and it was fine but this round its only home or business address

    • they messaged me saying they wouldn't send it to my PO box as well.

  • Any experience on the build-in speakers sound quality for S2721DS / S2722DC?
Main use case is watching youtube videos, twitch and work meetings.
    Edit:
Question 2: I noticed that S2722DC has 65W usb c to usb c charging. If I use HDMI (port connected to monitor) to USB-C (connected to laptop), will it still charge the laptop? Essentially I'll be using the monitor with Lenovo T14s and don't want it to stay connected to power all day. If I use the provided usb-c to usb-c cable, then it will keep charging the laptop. If I disconnected it, obviously the monitor will be disconnected as well. So I plan to use the HDMI to usb-c cable that I have if it doesnt charge the laptop.

  • Ordered a Dell 27 4K USB-C
    Thank you OP!

  • There are far fewer upgrade options this round on Dell website for the XPS 8950 as most of these configurations are marked as "in stock for fast delivery". Hopefully the white chassis and liquid cooling would be added again as optional soon.

  • Will the voucher code can be used along with the gift cards which can get extra 3% off on shopback?

      I did and it worked

  • Has anyone got the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus and have any feedback on it? Looks like a good mid-range laptop for the price, tempted to pull the trigger.

  • Anybody had their orders dispatched yet?

    • yep, mine has. G3223Q. Original ETA was like late May early June, but it's in transit already.

      • Wow you're lucky.
I placed my order as soon as the sale started, hopefully gets dispatched soon.

        • Hopefully yours get sent soon too. I put my order in a few hours after the sale started as well.

    • Mine dispatched 2 days ago, arrived today for G3223Q

  • Are the XPS desktops really bad? Is it just a 1 year warranty? I'm a bit worried about the cooling system

  • My G3223Q dispatched and arrived next day which was awesome! However I have a dead pixel on the bottom left and what looks like 2-3 pixels dead in a row horizontally on the top right. Has ayone been able to get this replaced or should I just return and rebuy? Such a shame but beautiful monitor nonetheless.

    • I got my G3223Q yesterday no dead pixels. which graphics card do you have? I have encountered a bug.

I have a Rx 6700 xt when monitor is at its max resolution 4k@144hz with HDR on windows with VRR enabled on radeon graphics settings. When a 4k hdr video is playing at full screen and the HDR gets to intense the screen will flicker on and off. It only happens with intense hdr.

Can you try to replicate this on your monitor. See if it happens too. Use this video.

      https://youtu.be/mkggXE5e2yk

This problem only effects HDR full screen video when HDR get too intense. Turning VRR off on graphics fixes the problem.

I tried to replicate the same thing with HDR games with VRR on but so far it seems HDR games are not effected by this bug so far but I can't guarantee that it won't happen to HDR games too as I have not tested HDR games a long time

Both default monitor driver and the latest monitor driver thats on the dell website are effected by the bug. Using Displayport cable that came in box and tried and different DP same results.

      • Hey mate I have 2070S. If I turn on my GSync with 4K, 144Hz, HDR600, 10bpc and video plays fine. But once I load LoL flickering starts and continues when I just use Windows, even if I turn off GSync. I then have to restart the with GSync off and its all working with those settings again. Talk about buggy. Is there another setting I should try?

        • Thanks for reply. That's all on my side. And what about playing a game full screen with Gsync on? do you encounter this problem? With HDR on and off.

          https://youtu.be/PVyj2ljAtnw

          • +1

@CheapOjoe: Refer to answer above but yeh, I bought this monitor knowing about that problem. My reqs were 32", 4K, 144Hz, decent colour gamut. Hoped they will eventually fix it as it seems silly that the G3223D and Freesync works. When I turn HDR off with GSync on I dont get the flickering problem but as I mentioned, I only tested LoL, if people consider that a game or not ;)

  • Would two S2722QC stacked on top of each other (Vertical Monitor Stand) be productive?

    • one horizontal and one vertical work well for me over the past few years

      • Do not have that much space on my desk, only way is to stack vertically on top of each other.

  • I ordered 2 x S3221QS arrived a few days later. After ordering I was worried they were too big for office work, but NO they are NOT.
This is NOT a review, but I will give some feedback
    - Looks amazing, strong stand I am using my old North Bayu stand.
    - VA panel (personal preference as I use in low light)
    - Reviews say HDR is blue. I had the blue tint once HDR was enabled on the monitor, bur when enabled in windows colour went back to normal
    - In-Speaker sounds great
    - Experienced a sound like coil whine (actually came from the speaker, could be my cable) but went away and didn't return after sound.
    - Didn't think I needed USB-C as I already had USB-C dock with good power output. However the Monitors would initially only display at 30hz. Quick research revealed this is a limitation with my laptop and dock.
So if you want to use 2 screens via a single cable, you need devices that support display port 1.4.
My devices are Display Port 1.2, as the dock has audio\usb ports then bandwidth available to the display is halved. Connecting 1 via the usb-c dock and 1 directly to the laptop via HDMI fixed this, may be a deal-breaker for some.
If you wish to use 2 monitors, please do some better research than I did. I would still have this problem if I purchased a monitor with USB-C.
Note: I originally had 2 x 21", finding I am just using one of the 32"', so could have saved some money and not purchased 2.
While not a gaming monitor, seems fine on the PS5. I am only a casual gamer though, so take with a grain of salt.

  • @dealbot Do we know when is the next deal coming? I'm guessing it will start around 20-25th May? Do we have any idea what the new "increased" prices will be for S2722qc? Hopefully not by too much.

    • New promo starting next week. Bad news is that most, if not all, of the prices have increased. The S2722QC will be $449 after 20% which is $80 more than April price.

  • Hi All,

I have a HP Vicvtus laptop and was wanting to charge it via the S2722QC monitor USB-C but for the life of me cannot get it working it charges IPAD etc. So im not sure if I need to enable a setting or HP just suck

    Thanks all
