I only eat their chicken when it is $10 whole chicken

    • Has it ever been $10 for a whole chicken at Nando's?

      • +5

I think SnoozeAndLose may have confused Nando's with Oporto.

        • -5

you are right, Nando and Oporto are similar and i always confuse.

  • Anyone else having trouble logging into the app? Keeps saying my password is wrong, and when you request a password change there's no where to enter the code.

    • +1

The App has been behaving naughty lately. I have been able to login using the credentials and code though. Try after sometime, it would most probably work.

    • why do u need the app?
barcode is in your mailbox as well.

    OP, is this a bargain?

  • Do you need to buy through app or have membership to buy? Can we purchase in store?

  • check your "perks" for buy 1 qtr chicken meal get one free (targeted)

Also try aldi portugese chicken pretty impressed like nandos, (items in link is differant flavor couldnt find the right link)

    • +4

They have been lacking in the perks department for a year or so, I remember getting free regular/large sides/seriously large chips with mains purchase fairly regularly until about a year ago. (also wasnt targeted for this BOGOF offer either)

      • agree, probably got it as I havent been in about a year

  • +3

Maybe I’m just spoilt with the old coles rotisserie chicken with its outstanding value, but man Nando’s chicken are small. Mostly bone the last few ones we got.

    • Yeah, probably better value to get the chicken and add the Nando's sauce yourself to get the flavour.

Thanks OP, there comes my lunch!

Still remember their WTF meal, which is nice

    • This comes relatively close since it's half chicken? I think the WTF meal was $13 but for quarter chicken and maybe a couple of tenders?

I do agree Nando's portions are shrinking.

      • quarter chicken, chips and 2/4 ribs?

    Nando's is great. Free food… ;)

  • Are they still around? 4 stores around my places are all closed

    • These head franchaises are just too expensive. People cant pay their fees. Government should be regulating all franchises so that industry players like 7-eleven and RFG wont exist

    • What state are you in? I find that Nando's is more popular in Vic than it is in NSW (where Oporto's seems to be more popular).

      • Vic, south east area. The one in Clayton, Heatherton, Carnegie and Southland Shopping Centre all closed. I thought they went bankrupt

        • I was at Southland a few days ago and thought I saw that Nando’s was still there, it still shows up on the Westfield website. Not sure about the other stores.

Are you referring to the one on Princes Highway, near the pool place? That one’s coming up as open as well.

          • @Ghost47: Nah Clayton rd near all the other restaurant. Southland is def closed check it out again. Not even on the Nandos website now.

            • +1

@Wiede: Southland is still open, Heatherton is now a Grill'd

              • @BargainMe: Just went there yesterday and Sunday. They are closed.

        • They didn't go bankrupt, pretty much the opposite, Nando's head office started to bully franchisee's into unrealistic upgrades to store's that did not need "upgrades" if said "upgrades" were not done, Nandos would take away their franchisee rights. They would then offer to buy back the store at around 5 to 10% what it was worth then run it as a non-franchise store. That's why a lot of Nandos have turned into Capricho, as the the owner of Capricho now franchises out and treats them better than Nandos did.

This article was from 2019, a few more stores have popped up since.

        • There's one corner Springvale & Governors in Braeside.

  • Nice chickeny memories of our Iocal Nando's, now long gone. Also looks like it's becoming less value for money…. sad.

    • +2

Lol I would say Nando's hasn't ever been value for money.

      • It sure was few years ago. wtf deals were pretty decently priced back then

        • Oh yeah the WTF deals were decent value, but in general Nando's has always been priced at a premium compared to other fast food places.

  • Now it's 17$in my app

    • It's supposed to be $16 pick up, $17 delivered. According to peri perks email just before.

      • Oh wow, I messed up lol thanks, time for some old memories. My last memory is from 2016 from their app 😂

  • At 19.95 I can get 1 and half KFC chicken lol.

    • +2

      Is it as good tho?

  • Waited 2 hours for delivery from my local nandos. Food was cold and chips were soaky.

  • +1

    chicken or pigeon/quail?

not sure judging by size of the bird nando's serve

  • +2

Nando's perks are crap. Their chickens are so damn small. But the cost just keeps going up.
Nando's… How I used to love you. Rip.
