Idk how patches have gone on switch but it's been patched pretty well on xbox/ps.

    • They're watching us

    • +1

Pretty sure they are OOS at harvey so won’t happen now :(

  • +12

Oh $#!t here we go again

reviews of this game seems to say stay away

    • +2

It's lot better now with patches. So don't look at the launch reviews. Hope that helps

"Even after patches, this runs horribly
Reviewed in Australia on 28 March 2022
Bought this after reading that the game had received multiple updates/patches that improved the game. After playing the game now I don't want to image how bad it was before. Avoid this collection."
Samuel seems to disagree as a review.

        • +2

          Thanks Samuel.

        • Samuel most likely didn't pay the original.

      • It'll never be any good. The foundations are rotten.

Instead of upgrading the original code they just slapped a remake together poorly with unreal engine.

        • +3

Yep. They ported the original to mobile, then remastered the mobile port back PC

          • +2

@Blitzfx: GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition will be talked about for generations, it has made HISTORY.

Because it's the first instance in this digital age, where a copy of a copy, is no where near close to the original.

    • yeah the switch version even with the patches is still a pretty big avoid.

  • +4

Vice City isn't on the cart and requires a download, and to update all the games you will want about 20GB of storage too.

    • well (profanity) that. I'm still running my 32gb card and haven't needed an increase yet since i only use cartridge games

usually switch updates are like 50mb, i'm not downloading 20GB of data for one game

  • +2

    I’m a bit annoyed PS5 didn’t get a physical release.

    • -4

At $15 for a digital copy why would they bother

      • +3

        Ahh it's $99.95 on PSN.

        • +3

Ahh nevermind I'm thinking of gta v

          • @cyrax83: physical release for that came out last week, fwiw. The PS and Xbox prices are due to return to $60 in June although I suspect they'll be on sale every second month just like the previous consoles GTA V release was.

    • +2

they only release good games physcially

  • +10

    I just saved $40

  • Amazon has the PS4 version for $63.05 with Prime free shipping. If the patches are legit is this a buy?

  • +1

This ended up pretty decent after the updates on Series X.

    I loved the old GTA

  • I purchased the physical of this originally and that was after patches and still terrible, not sure if it's had more since. I returned it. Buyer beware!

  • I’m happy to wait until they get this game to the point where it’s excellent. The longer they take, the cheaper the game gets so the ball is in their court as far as I’m concerned.

    • I don’t think it will. They got the coin, pretty sure they have moved on already

I think the aim was to get it playable

      • Fair enough. They won't get my money in that case. Shame, I was looking forward to getting this when I first heard of it.

I will look out for the Oculus version.

        • +1

I hope Oculus San Andreas is great.

  • I installed this (san andreas) on my xbox one when it first came out, and it was literally unplayable, it stuttered and lagged that bad

I dont get why an old game would struggle to run on a basically current gen console? I havent gone back and tried it recently, so it might be better now, but more so because i would rather wait for vice city to come on game pass, and for some reason its not on the pc version of game pass

  • wow 40 bucks already???? didn't this only come out the other month??

  • yeah all I will say if you haven't played the orginal game you may like this. But I know I am going to hate the new version of Vice City alot of the 80s music for starters is taken out of this version. I am going to stick with the original.

  • +1

dont ever buy this version of GTA, its not worth it

  • +1

Why buy this at $40 unless you really want to play this asap.

This will be a bargain bin sub $25 game with time. Might give them more time to do more patches. And if it doesn't get more patches then they won't get a sale.

    • Yep, I'm not paying $40 for an utterly broken game just because it "sort of works" and might get updated in future.

When will people realise that continuing to pay for broken games means that devs/pubs will keep releasing broken games…

    • This will be a bargain bin sub $25 game with time.

With even more time it could be free..??

    • I would pay 10 bucks for this game because its half arsed version of the game.

  • Sounds like it's not worth playing at all. I wouldn't buy for $5 if that's the case. If only they did this version well and also included all games on the cartridge.

  • +8

    They removed music

They pulled the old versions to buy

They sent cease and decist orders to people helping create dozens of fantastic add-ons for the originals

They never created DLC for GTA:5 with that huge map which would have easily supported it like that, instead focusing on online stuff for money.

Plus this game launched with endless problems.

They do not deserve the coin

    • +2

yep especially in Vice city…… the music was a huge part of the game!!

  • +1

    Back at $40 price

  • +1

Triangle Strategy (I still think it’s a stupid name) has also been price matched to $40 at Amazon
