Bought it last year, and then sagged within a month, made complaints . Poor service, and make hard for you to make any claims… Then sold it to friend for few dollars.

    • +7

15-year warranty is easy to advertise when you have no complaint system indeed.

"Yes you can claim the warranty, but good luck finding out who lol"

      • +7

You can never claim that warranty… Send picture like this send picture like that… Dance on the mattress .. do this on the mattress… Take measuring tape with you do this do that… Its gonna break ur back… But u still cannot claim a thing… So bye bye zzz

        • +1

To be fair, they're all like that. I recently tried claiming warranty on a mattress I bought from a store that cost around 6x this price. Same runaround.

          • +1

@treefidi: Actually I managed to get ozplaza refund me the price of a mattress that is a replica of Zzz Atelier Mattress. It wasn’t that good from the start and it sagged with very minimal use over a 3 year period.
They advertised 100% satisfaction or money back. And I pushed for and got a full refund.

        • "do this on the mattress"
          WOAH…

        • I claimed with them pretty easily after sending them the photos they requested

        • +1

Yeah, I tried to get warranty within 2 years and it was impossible.

    • +3

Why are you not negging the deal then?

      • +2

FYI: mods can bin you for apparently “soliciting votes”

    • -1

How much do you weigh and how many people did you sleep on this bed?

      • Well there has to be room for the twins too.

        • You had to bring up the Estonian dwarves, or should I say, 'little people'.

  • Looks like postage is $21.35 so it’s not $279.20 delivered

  • +15

You get what you pay for with these. So many people have had sag issues. I definitely wouldn't buy again.

    • +4

My king size one hasn't sagged after 3 years. Knock wood lol

      • +2

Neither! Maybe the older models are better quality 🤔

        • Could be true. I bought mine in Dec 2020.

      • +1

Same, mine going good since 2019.

  • +13

Chiropractic Mattress aka you'll need to see a Chiropractic after using this mattress.

    • +10

Does the mattress make you believe in pseudoscience?

  • Plus delivery fees for most major cities ($19.60 Melb metro)

    • I'm getting free delivery. Melbourne Metro

  • +3

I have an adult niece that isn't very fussy with these kinds of things. She purchased one. Hated it. Won't use it anymore. That's my only review.

    • As many below are mentioning weight, I'd say she is in the 60kg range.

  • +2

We've had one of the old models for a couple of years. No issues with sagging. Our only complaint is that the sides aren't super firm. If you're wanting firmer sides, Kmart does a mattress in a box that is pretty good.

  • +1

Mine is three years old, no complaints. Sags only at the corners, not the edges. Last two hotel mattresses I slept on were way less comfortable.

  • +2

Have had one for ~3.5 years. Noticed sagging after 1 year. Am 100kg though so YMMV. Rotate mattress every week now but still annoying.

Their warranty is a joke though, need 3cm to claim sagging. That's a crater not sagging.

  • +4

We have the old model for 3.5 years now. I weight 85kg and it only have minor sagging issues. I just rotate it once a year and no problems.

People with major sagging issues should post their weight. I can imagine it if you weight 110kg+ but if you only weight only 60-70kg it shouldn't sag.

    • Same had old model for 2+ years and zero issues, I rotate it a few times a year, have had $2k+ luxury mattresses can't tell or feel any difference.

    • +1

"People with major sagging issues should post their weight"

And maybe what did they do to the mattress 😂

I bought my first Zzz mattress 3 years ago. Still using it. I weight 68kg. Haven't noticed any sag. I don't even rotate it or anything. Maybe worth to mention that I use a bed frame with support beam (?)
Years passed, now I have own 4 of these mattresses, in various size and for different rooms. None had issues whatsoever. I think this is the OzB mattress, well, at least to me. I also got free metro delivery. Btw, it used to cost $270 (delivered, after cashback) for King size one before COVID and inflation. So good

    • +1

Also how many people sleeping on it. 1 skinny guy vs 2 fat people is a big difference.

I don't think 2 large people should expect a mattress in a box to hold their weight for years.

  • +2

Brought one for my mum who is 90kg and it sagged hard within 8-9 months. She couldn't sleep on it as it was hurting her lower back. Unfortunately had to put it out for hard waste after trying to contact support for warranty. Warranty make it hard, she is on a disability pension and they stuff they were asking for should be brought to ACCC! I wouldn't recommend this mattress to anyone.

Warranty/customer service is non existent, surprised they have 100% feedback on eBay. I guess your 60 days feedback time runs out and then it's gone to post.

I replaced it with a Kmart mattress that was posted here on ozB and it has been much better. I'd even pay the full $289+Shipping for the Kmart one over this zzz junk. She has had the Kmart one since August 2021 and it's been good.

  • +1

Another sag city sentiment here. Replaced with an IKEA Malfors firm foam mattress which is surprisingly the best I’ve had so far. Lightweight, easily flippable, and a machine washable cover.

    • That looks great. Wish they delivered.

  • +6

Seller has 14K feedback and 100% positive and the listing has over 34K sold.

I find it very odd that someone can have 100% positive feedback. There are usually a few crack-pot negative reviews, but nothing, clean as a whistle.

Anyway, this is nothing more than a cheap PU foam mattress from the usual shady places on Alibaba with questionable quality, made up marketing and non-existent after sales support, sorry it’s not the mattress it’s you type responses. Good luck getting a cent out of these guys if something goes wrong.

What really upsets is the environmental impact. Making PU foam isn't an environmentally friendly process. Some punter who this thinks this is a bargain who gets 6 months out of it before getting fed up with back pain dumps it, spending the next thousand years in landfill. What is this, a race to the bottom?

    • +1

Well said, agree. Making foam is terrible on environment, and horrible for your BACK!
Considering we spend 1/3 of life sleeping, and 1/100 time driving, we should be spending more on a bed and not a car for eg.

      • +1

Lol. As if IKEA mattress doesn't use PU foam

    • +1

This is a beautiful, excellent quality mattress until it starts to sag. However, this does not happen for a few months most likely after the cut-off for reviews.

  • any recommendations for a double with pocket springs, between soft to medium firm, around $300?

  • +1

These beds have 3 year life span. Spend more and get a real one

    • -2

Or just buy a new one every 3 years and it's probably still cheaper.

      • +1

Logically sounds good but in reality a different story. I had one and paid similarly to this price. I put up with it when the springs sagged in the middle after 2 years until my back starting to gradually getting sore. Eventually I got a refund from them which was impressive. Never again mattress in a box.

    • +3

Interesting. I used to have a $5K+ mattress because people told me that I should really invest on a good sleep. I mean yes, that makes sense totally. The mattress came with 15 years warranty.
Around year 6 or 7, the mattress became a torture chamber for my back. I tried to contact the store only to found out they have closed permanently.

So that taught me a lesson. Economically wise, spending $300 once every 2-3 years isn't a bad idea.

      • +1

I think $2K is the sweet spot between cost vs quality is at equilibrium

        • Agreed.
We’ve had ours for 2 years, and I love every single night that I crash on it. Endless honeymoon. But we want a king size, and send this to guest room. But can’t find who (commonly) sells it. Anxious that whatever we choose won’t be as good. Forever on the hunt.

          • @Ulysses31: Which mattress is this? Can’t just drop a great review without the product

      • I heard a good podcast on this topic. Basically saying: technology has only changed “so much”. After ~$3-5k dollars, the rest is all gimmicks/garbage.

Millionaires have budgets that need spending… so OEMs make something to that price.

    • +1

      Your spot on!

      • How do you get it off?

  • +3

Seems low quality and wasteful. Negging for awareness, based on comments above.

  • +1

I’ve had one for 4 years now.

No issues. This was one of the very very early models.

    • +1

I'm at about 2 years on one and it's a-OK. Was surprised to hear about the issues.

  • +1

I've had one for 4 years and have been happy with it (77kg). Slight sag now but it's still fine.

  • +2

Had one for 2 and bit years, late 2019.
115kegs no sag. Edges are softer though.
Edit * have the black chiropractic.

  • It was a great Mattress for the first 18 months, then it started sagging and started giving me a sore lower back.

Main issue, that its way too thick and generates so much heat.

Got a Koala mattress and never looked back.

    Another good alternatives could be:

    https://bedbuyer.com.au/kmart-hybrid-mattress/
    https://bedbuyer.com.au/kmart-pocket-spring-mattress

I am just waiting for Kmart mattresses to go on sale again… Kmart would probably be easier to claim your warranty later if needed.

Duke is another low cost alternative:

If you know other good options to recommend under $500, please let me know….

    • Wouldn't trust any of these review sites. They're all affiliate reviews meaning they're incentivised to give more positive comments than negative in the hope you actually buy the product so they get commission.

Honestly you pay for what you get. Obviously not $10k but anything decent chosen with some care would be $1k to $2k.

  • +1

Bought it 2.5 years ago and no complaints.

  • +1

Wouldn't buy this mattress for self used but probably for Airbnb property. This mattress eventually sagged after 3yrs of usage.

    • Any complaints from guests or comfy?

  • +1

I've had 4 mattresses from zzz in the past few years

Queen - Sagged after 2 years
King - Generally ok after 3 years, but it's starting to sag
King Single 1- Sagged under 2 years
King Single 2- Generally ok under 2 years

Going to cast a negative vote.

    • What is your weight?

      • +2

Looks like lots of different people slept on them

        • -1

          Haha..

      • +1

I weigh around 79kg. Wife weighs around 62kg. We've used the Queen and King versions.

Both single king were used by kids under 30kg. One is actually under 15kg ( the one that has survived).

  • +2

Bought a zzz last year after seeing the positive comments and ignoring the negative ones. My mistake. Maybe some of them come out ok, but it seems there is a serious quality control problem with them. I was hoping to get just 3 years out of it. Not going to happen. Might try a warranty complaint with them, but realise it’s unlikely. I even bought their bed frame that they recommended as it had wider slats with less space between them. Frame is good. Mattress isn’t. Oh, weight is 93kg.

I’ll say this: if you are in your 20s or maybe early or mid 30s, sure take a shot with one. Avoid these mattresses if you are older. I love the joke above about it being a chiropractic mattress in that it causes you to see a chiropractor.

    • +1

Claim and you'll get a refund like I did. Similar situation after 3 years, sag. They'll make you jump over some hoops, measure sag and take pics of the bed frame slats etc hope they can reject

  • +1

Im within spitting distance of 100kg.
I have their extra firm model.

The delivery guy was rough with my product, and I left a complaint.

I was refunded a huge portion of the cost, as an "im sorry", without me even asking for anything.

    I'd shop with them again.
Im not sure who everyone is speaking to in regards to warranty, but the 2 times ive had a call with them, they couldn't have been more polite.

Im getting another, as the extra firm was a little much for me; but the quality is out of this world compared to my old Sleepmaker.

    • +1

Lol, how can someone neg someone sharing a positive life experience?

      Jealousy?

  • Save your money, get a Noa.

  • looks like imitation sleeping duck

  • I'm going to neg this as well. We bought a king - 75kg / 60kg. It was fairly comfy for about 6 months and then started getting more and more uncomfortable over time. Visibly sagged by 1 year and giving my wife a very sore back by 1.5 years. We got rid of it and go a sleeping duck and not only was it far more comfortable from day one but it hasn't changed at all in the 2 years we've owned it, still looks and feels brand new.

  • +1

These are bad mattresses. We got rid of our sons one after 8 months and got him an Eva mattress which has been so so much better in every single possible way.

  • Got one of their firm mattresses a while back, can't say im overly impressed. When I opened it up, it did not scream quality at me. Typical over-hyped online brand imo.

  • Ours sagged too in one year. Neither any where near overweight.
