  • Is it legal for a store to hide nutritional value of food, like in this case?

    • Sounds like a legal question…

      Perhaps quicker and more reliable to look up info on consumer law?

      • Defs not quicker, as I can't read it all, looking for wording etc. that might be different to what I think/picture, but a quick googling shows it is, unfortunately, as legal as pricing, stock, description "errors". That is: no responsibility for the should-be-offenders and litte justice to consumers, really.

        Here's the article I found: https://www.nationaltribune.com.au/food-labeling-is-lacking-…

      Yeah, but it isn’t like you can’t Google this info yourself

      https://pana-organic.com/range/hazelnut-chocolate-spread/

      I’m sure the info will be on the label in store.

      • Yeah, you can usually look up, but my point was also that it should be there in the listing.

        As in, it should be the seller's responsibility to provide a photo or text with those values.

        • Certainly, legally, they need to put it on the packaging; but how far does this go? If it is in a catalogue do you need to include this info for every product? However, I do agree with you that this information would be useful for online shopping. Then, again, I don’t think any of us are under the delusion this will be a substitute for Broccoli :)

          Just looked it up on the Coles site and it, also, didn’t include the info. Only this was funnier because it showed you the front, and back, but not the side bit with the nutritional info. They showed the info for Nutella so the plot thickens.

        • BTW, rereading my first comment above it was more snarky than I meant it to be. Sorry about the tone,

    • here ya go;

      Allergen
      Tree Nuts

    Palm oil–free, unlike Nutella!

  • For a more pressing question, wattabout the taste? How does it compare to the tried and trusted Nutella? Anyone in the knows, please lick in.

    • Amazing. The hazelnut flavour is the closest you'll get to a vegan Max Brenner chocolate lick

      I much prefer it over Nutella. I just usually don't buy it because it's so expensive so I consider it a luxury. Even at half price like this special, the cost per gram is still far more than Nutella.
