Damn! For the past 2 years I've been using a pack that will (now) fully fast charge my iPhone mini about 9 times (vs 0.7 times for magpack) and will also charge/power many other devices. It cost about a third of this price and all you have to do is …wait for it…plug it in. The mag pack is unbelievably horrible value, if it were $29 I'd still be unsold.

    • Different use case. With this you can just slap it on the back and put it in your pocket still or continue using it, which is a lot more difficult with a big battery pack with wires.

      • Wouldn't it be better to buy a 3rd party battery case at least.

        • +3

I bought this as a gift for someone. The alternatives have higher capacity and usually cheaper so this isn't going to be the best option for everyone

But this is still good for some

          • lower capacity means its lighter/slimmer
          • looks nicer (subjective of course)
          • 1st party accessory, benefit to some
          • can be attached to an existing, and official case. No changing case, style, or quality
          • removable when not required. No need to keep a heavier case if not in use

As always, buy what you like. I wouldn't buy it for myself but it's good for some

    • oh, which one? Sounds good for my iPhone 12 mini

    • Would be interested as well.

I've got one of these and before you buy there are a few things you should know.

    1. This wouldn't even charge my iPhone 12 Mini to full from low, let alone empty, battery.

    2. If I used the phone while it was charging from this battery, even just browsing the internet, my battery level would still go down. That's how slowly this charges.

    3. It charges very very slowly and creates a lot of heat. Super inefficient.

The only thing it has going for it is that it is nice and small and convenient.

It doesn't sound convenient at all from what you just listed above. It just sound it is small.

      • But is it nice?

      • You can argue that small is convenient. I have taken it out with me while I've never taken a regular wired battery pack with me, so in that way it does its job. It still extends your battery life, just not a full charge.

    • +1

Like I said above, pretty much useless

    • It purposefully does not charge you up to full for efficiency reasons.

But I agree with you that it's not a good product.

I also think that you should take a good look at how thick it is before you buy it. The pictures make it look really slim but it really isn't.

iPhone 13 Pro max battery is so good
    I dont need it.
Even if i do iwould go for a normal power bank.

I use the snap wireless power pack mini with MagSafe.
Or you can plug in a usbc to your phone.

I have two of them. I rate them, and I’ve had heaps of power packs. They’re normally about $100. I bought them over the apple one because it actually charges the battery, so once it’s charged pull it off and your phone is good. MagSafe. Usbc in/out. Small form.

Surprised they’re not on OzBargain more often…
Not associated, bought one of their MagSafe mounts and was impressed so did more research into other accessories.

Just picked this one up in JB $38 price matched ( they were happy to do it in white)

      Wa…..that price actually
Surprised me….not that Belkin means “quality”, but normally they charge a premium for any of their products….$35 is actually quite decent….

  • Charges at 5W when unplugged just like other options(Belkin BoostCharge), the MAG Safe Certification only helps when you plug this pack in by USB-C, where you then reap the 15W charging rate.

More info on the Apple Magsafe battery pack: https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/07/14/apples-magsafe-ba…

We will always pay more for the apple logo and that 'apple white' plastic finish :)

    • 7.5W charging from the battery with the upgraded firmware (v2.7)

This is a better option in $39.88 with 5000mAH and 10W charging
