Oh really? MSI been around for ages but never heard of ‘Colourful’. Is MSI crap these days?
No they're saying MSI is more reputable. I misread it that way too
Good catch haha, you’re right. Phew, i’m not suddenly brand-illiterate, just regular illiterate.
It is mis-written more than anything.
Trigger finger is getting itchy on a 3060….
Would you say maximum resolution you'd use an RTX 3060 for is 1080p? Pretty rusty on what card is good for what res. Although I did read 3070 Ti is good for "most" titles at 1440p which was why it's the more tempting of the cards for me.
I am running a 1440 screen with a GTX 1080 from 5 years ago and games run 'ok'.
I think a 3060 will be more than enough to run anything most people are in need of at an acceptable performance.
Don't buy into all the marketing if you're on a budget.
But can the 3060 run Crysis?!
Same
On most games I still get 80-100fps on high and over 120 on others at 1440p.
I too have a 1080, and a 1440p Viewsonic 27" 165hz display. Been good enough that I've not felt any great need to upgrade even if the pricing wasn't insane for the last two years straight.
AMD refresh coming soon too
Is that a good price on the 3060Ti or can be expect better deals?
Its not worth paying an extra $200 over the 3060 for 10% better performance.
Is it only 10%? :O This article paints a different story, for 1080p Ultra the performance gain between 3060 and 3060Ti is really big it seems. I think the jump from 3060Ti to 3070 is bit lesser.
The difference is more than 10% between a 3060 and a 3060 TI. Still, at the moment, the price point for a Ti is still quite high.
It's about ~25% faster overall, I'd call ~$700 on a 3060Ti a deal.
Probably wait. Intel seems to be targeting that segment in June. We dunno the price, but with the threat of the 40s coming out in september, it should be very competitive.
LHR or FHR?
I don't believe these latest 3060 posts to be worthy of a post.
They have both been available at these prices for over a week now & this is current going rate for 3060's.A bargain worth mentioning would be ~$500-550 for a model with a dual or trio cooler that comes from a reputable brand.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to down your post or anything. But far too many posts are ending up on 'OzBargain' that well… aren't bargains.
"Less is more"
3060ti is a much better card in my opinion, but everything comes down to price and budget. Ive used both a fair bit ( building pc's )and installing and playing games and id say its a noticeable difference, more in the 15-30% better performance. Heaps of YouTube benchmarks to back that up. Maybe spend a few minutes and watch some if contemplating either card
So what would be a budget gpu for old cpu Ryzen 5 3600? Does 3060 compatible to this cpu on a 550w PSU? I think it's too much if upgrade to this card, but tempting!
A 3060 would be a great fit for the R5 3600 and would pair absolutely fine with a decent quality 550w PSU.
My partner uses a R5 3600 with a 2070 Super and a 650w PSU if that's any good of a reference point. Thanks! I Googled it and 1660 would be ideal at this stage for this relatively old rig.
I'll start considering the 3600 old in about 4 years lol
seems 3060 now stuck at around this price, not going further down to $500 yet
how does a 3060 have 4GB more vram than a 3070… that makes no sense at all
2gb more than a normal rtx 3080 too. Even though it’s GDDR6 vs GDDR6X vram
Supposedly, the memory controller are only made in 6gb or 12gb, and they chose 12. I don't remember source though.
Nvidia: our 3080 will have 10gb *troll face
In short, different architecture.
https://www.quora.com/Why-does-the-RTX-3060-have-more-VRAM-1…
Dang I wish that bundle came with a DDR5 board instead.
I need a Ti to drop in price. This 5700XT I have needs to meet a hammer.
Well, to be fair, it's the drivers, not the cards fault. it works fine with open source drivers; but windows can eat it.ive gone from 3070 to 3080fe to 3060
My recommendation is dont buy anything below a 3070 if you want high to ultra settings on most games
3060 does the job but you will be stuck at mid to high settings on most modern games
Okay price for the RTX 3060 if you're after a more reputable brand but the Colorful one is $559
