I’ve got one of the AngelBird SE cards and it’s great, and 800MB/s is more than almost any current use case (I think there is a RED in one of its 8K modes that exceeds this).

Works great in my Canon R3, R5 and C500II.

Considering two 512GB AngelBird cards are cheaper and faster than this, I’d be purchasing AB again.

      Thanks for the feedback!

      • No problem! It’s good to see CFe B cards becoming relatively affordable, my first ones were a couple of Sandisk 512GB cards and they were well over $1000!

    • I have a pair of 512GB Angelbirds as well, they've been flawless in my R5.

    • Do the Angelbirds have a good history?
Looking for one for Z6 and Z6ii.

Would it help with the overheating issue I encountered recording 4k60 to a Lexar 1667x SD card?

I’ve had a good experience with them. They make great readers too.

I have four CFast cards for my C200, and for the past three years they’ve been great.

Also running an AngelBird 2TB CFe B in the second slot of my C500II for dual-slot redundancy (swapping out slot 1 with 512GB cards.

I expect it might help your situation, I’d never use an SD card where I could use an CFe B instead. A friend of mine is running the AngelBird SE cards in his Z6.

I’ve never encountered overheating issues with CFe B.

out of the box AVP512CFXBSE is compatible only with Z6ii, Z7ii & Z9
to use it with Z6 or Z7 you must update the firmware,
        https://www.angelbird.com/journal/news/firmware-update-cfexp…

Firmware update version AVX2.13 for the CFexpress Type B SE/SX/MK2 includes:
        Added compatibility for the Nikon camera models D850, D5, D6, D500, Z 6, Z 7
        Improved performance
        Bug fixes

but you can only do it with Angelbird card reader, which is $130 on Amazon (from US)

I remember thinking years ago, before SSD's were a thing, why CF cards don't replace HDDs if they could make them faster (at the time). They're now plenty fast just expensive but if they were more mass adopted prices would have tumbled. It could have been a thing 🤔 With NVME now here, forget it, but at the time CF was so much smaller than any alternative.
