  • has anyone used these? very keen to get for my windows laptop

If you have a laptop with usb c with display port, those docks are much nicer. These usb 3/usb A docks do work, but I've found the display bit can be a tad iffy.

I've used it, mine had issues displaying 2 screens and accessories. E.g. Either one of my screens had issues displaying or my mouse receiver wasn't getting enough power making my mouse lag quite a bit. I wouldn't recommend it. Gave it to my friend and he had similar issues. This one connects with a USB A.

I second incipient, go for a USB c dock, way nicer especially if they can also charge your laptop at the same time.

      • Don't have usb c in my lenovo :( any other suggestions?

Don't use a Dock. Go oldschool. Plug in cables separately =/ and put this money towards a new laptop.

If you want to save some cables, get a wireless keyboard and mouse, so you're only plugging in display+power. It's not great, I know.

Agree with incipient again lol. Good docks carry a hefty price tag. I currently plug in my charger, hdmi, keyboard and mouse separately and there's no issue - just a 5 second inconvenience.

  • -1 for wrong description, there is no USB C
Hardware Interface ‎USB, USB Type C, USB 3.0
6 USB 3.0 type A ports (5Gbps) - Support multiple devices to connect at the same time like an external hard drive or another USB graphics adapter, keyboards, mice and printers etc. Headphone and microphone input ports are also conveniently within reach when they're needed

Without USB C, these are useless anyway. Most PC and all Mac's use USB C only and this doesn't support it.

    • I mean it could come with a usb A to usb c adapter, and just do usb 3.0 over the type c connector.

Unfortunately the USB IF has made the ecosystem quite confusing, especially for the type c connector.
