This is a pretty decent deal, it would've been great if it wasn't a refurbished model

$15k is pretty good for a corolla, would have been better if it wasn't 2nd hand? I mean that logic applies to a lot of things =P

It's more, is it a good deal given that it's a refurb?

      • -6

Yeah it's a good refurb deal, but it would've been even better if it was new. I bought my laptop for similar specs around $550 new

It wouldn't have been a Dell Latitude 7000 series though

Just so everyone's aware, the Dell Latitude 7000 series is the top-end of the business laptop range. You can definitely get these specs in a entry-level Inspiron but they are very different laptops and opposite ends of the quality spectrum.

That said, not everyone needs/values quality laptops. This is an excellent deal for a recent, top-quality Latitude but if money is top priority over quality then a entry-level Inspiron will cost less.

(I've been buying new or 1-2 year old Latitude 7000-series for a while - light, magnesium cases with solid hardware, not plastic cases. They won't have newest tech, their focus is reliability. Don't buy it for a gaming laptop)

@enigma48: Yep typing this from my work Latitude 7410, they're definitely a high end corporate model. Really nice devices and certainly a step up from the standard 5000 series ones we get.

  • 7490 is my favorite. I think it was the best they ever did in Latitude 7000 class.

  • Bought a refurb'd 7480 over a year go. Really good laptop, I think it was going cheap because there's been a common problem with random crashes due to the video driver. But once installed correctly it has been very solid

  • Can I run a Hackintosh on these?

    • +1

Likely yes, but I don't know why you'd want to.

      • I want to see what all the craze about mac os is

    • according to here you can. there's a specific guide for this model. that said. I tried but couldn't do it on the 7480. I don't think i tried very hard and just ended up installing OSX on my Intel NUC

  • Op, tax invoice provided?

  • Nice , whats max ram ? Only 1 hdd allowed?

  • 32 GB MAX , 2 x 16 GB modules . HDD only one can be configured

  • pretty badly scratched

  • 14" screen is small.
