  SATA version of this brand didn't work well with the RPi. It is was really slow and unreliable. Clearly the chips set wasn't well supported.

    OMG that's explain why my ORICO 2.5 External Hard Drive Enclosure keep dropping out. I thought its a power issue. You know any other brands that works?

      Orico are transparent about what chipsets they use on their website and often you can Google to see if there's Linux issues. They typically use JMicron and they seem to have issues with Linux all the time.

        I tried to google it but most the results are based on driver not recognized but issue I'm having, driver suddenly drops and I need to re boot the entire pi system, which is kind of annoying.
