    This
    is
    a
    great
    deal

    • +2

Looks great at everything, but apparently has a few big drawbacks.

The refresh rate is low at 100Hz, and some people complaining about latency with their consoles. The brightness isn't too great, especially with sun/glare making it difficult to watch. Many people complaining about light bleed. And some complaining about hardware faults (turning full white then black, then freezing/not responding).

      • +1

Who watches tv in the sun?

        • +2

          Anyone that lives down under?
          ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

        • You mean to say I've been doing it all wrong?

      • +3

People complain about anything though. The worst offenders can be found on product review. God damn that site.

      • Why do we need more than 100hz? Most media is around 20, 30, or 60hz anyway

        • +1

          I like a minimum of 120Hz, as that divides evenly into 24x5, 30x4, 60x2, 120x1.
And you kind of need 120Hz speeds for larger displays, when it comes to reducing glare, ghosting and artefacts

Ideally your TV would have a nice 240Hz panel. Whilst 20in-40in PC Monitors are ideal with 120Hz panels. Even smaller displays like on tablets will work similar with 60Hz, and phones can drop down to 30Hz (see Samsung's new VRR OLED). As the screens get smaller and more advanced, it gets easier for the video controller to manage the picture.

How does this stack up compared to the Sony xj90?

    • +4

Sony is better, 200hz and best image processing

      • +4

Sony's always have looked the best imo, pound for pound

      • The Sony has better image processing but only 4K@120hz, same as LG. The "200hz" is motion interpolation which LG also has.

        • It says 100hz for this tv not 120hz…

          • @Toffcuz: Sorry it's actually 60hz. My bad!

            I don't believe any TV is native 100hz. It's either 60hz or 120hz.

  • +3

so many tv deals at such different prices. Dont know what to get or should i even get it

  • Do LG TVs insert advertising into content?

    • +1

Oh yes, the home page is full of them and i haven't been able to disable them either.

      • +4

You can turn off the big advertising on the Home Screen under general > home setting > home promotion - toggle on / off

  • +5

all except nano91 slightly cheaper at appliance central plus free delivery certain areas, use to negotiate @ JB if you prefer to shop their

Does these TVs run webOS or Android TV? Is "Smart OS LG Smart TV" webOS or something different?

    • +3

Yes webOS, but a lot nicer than the old version. Go a chromecast if you want to future proof the os.

  • Three different nano 75 inches….what's the difference..?

    • I don't know but FYI 2 x 75" and 1 x 86".

      • +1

3 + 1 if you include the actual deal

  • +3

Is this model good for VHS?

    • +2

      Yup it’s kev from 98 alright…

  • +1

It's pretty confusing with TVs tbh

  • +6

This is rubbish if you value picture quality. Check Rtings review.

Good for a brand name big tv if you don't care about picture quality

    • -2

Isn't nano cell individually lit pixels?

      • +2

No, that's OLED… This would be an absolute bargain if it was OLED!

    • -2

What has much better picture quality for the same price?

      • Check the Rtings for other models on the market. Might have to go down in screen size though. Like I said, for a brand name it's ok if you don't value picture quality.

        • -3

May be you are OLED guy any TV not OLED are rubbish

          • +1

@superforever: I don't own an OLED. But when my Sony X800D from 2016 is better than this LG TV in just about every metric, that's quite telling.

            • -1

@adrianhughes1998: May be IPS black not as good as VA or Sony but not fair to call it rubbish.

              • +1

@superforever: A deal is a deal, you're the OP and it seems like you're getting in tizzles about other comments here too.

But there are better TVs out there at the same price, VA or IPS or not. Rtings has the reviews and the numbers.

                Drops mic

                • -2

@adrianhughes1998: I do understand have better TV or panel at the same price but it is still not rubbish. Rtings didn't call it rubbish, a lot of people are using LG TV, so they are using rubbish?

I just don't agreed with the word "rubbish"

                  • +3

                    @superforever:

                    Native Contrast 942 : 1

This TV has terrible contrast. Even IPS is usually over 1000:1. Brightness is also bad at 200 nits. Most laptops are brighter than that.

Maybe it would be good if you want a cheap large name brand TV. But if you value picture quality at all, I'd look elsewhere.

  • 86-inch one has a refresh rate of 60hz, lower than the 75-inch one (100hz)? Was planning to pull the trigger but now re-thinking about it. Anyone got a feedback on that 86 inch model TV?

    • 86" is 120hz just like the other sizes of this TV. I would not buy this TV in any size though.

  • Is this better than q60a or u7g?

  • +1

no dolby atmos? do you really need it if you have apple tv 4k?

  • +1

Awesome price and remember that unless you sit directly in front, LG are far better for angles. https://m.imgur.com/a/S9P5E01

I hate the ghosty look when I see it.

    • You'll get the ghosty look when you look at it when it boots up with the black background haha

  • +2

When do the Sony TVs go on sale? Particularly the x85J. Haven’t budged!

  • Is this the best price we have seen on the nano75?

  • Is the 86" True 120hz?

  • further 15% off on ebay
