Can you do any deals on the hue dimmers

    • Please send us an email to [email protected] with the quantity and product SKU you after, we will get back to you with a quote.

  • I'm really keen to buy a few of this but I see that you need specific zigbee hub and not just any general zigbee hub ( I have a Cygnett Smart Hub which also uses zigbee).

Is it still possible to use it with Cygnett Smart Hub?

    • I see that you need specific zigbee hub

I think that only applies for Homekit use. Apple are a PITA with this.
e.g. Homekit will talk to Ikea bulbs only via Ikea hub, and refuses via Hue hub.

      • Interesting, thanks for the heads up!

  • We have not yet tested the downlight with the home kit through Cygnett Hub, but if the downlight's product ID works through Philips Hue it should work through Cygnett as well.
You can get a simple to test it out.

    • "You can get a simple to test it out."

Sorry, not sure if I understand the above - how do I test it out?

The sample I mean, sorry for the confusion, you can send it back to us for a refund if it does not work with the Cygnett hub.

        • Ah ok, understood. Thank you very much for offering the option for a refund if it does not work.

I very much hope that it works though!

          Thanks!!!

@hiiragizawa: Well received, they should leave our warehouse by this afternoon.

            • @Lectory LED Lighting: Would like to report that it works with Cygnett Smart Hub!

              Some peculiarities:

              1. After turning on the light and trying to add device to the hub (using 2.4GHz Wifi) on the Cygnett app, the lights will blink a couple of times - this identifies that the downlight is being added to the Cygnett Smart Hub while it's trying to pair

              2. The pairing sometimes is not successful i.e. you see that 0 devices are discovered (even though you have seen the light blinking in step 1). Try again by turning off/on the lights.

              3. In my experience, even though you are trying to connect to 1 light device, the Cygnett app will somehow detect hundreds of devices - in my case, around 800 devices during the pairing process

              4. Allow the Cygnett app's device discovery to timeout after 1 minute or so.

              5. Once discovery is done, you would not see a light device on the Cygnett app.

              6. However, if you use Apple HomeKit, you will see a new light device in the Apple Home app. In my case, all the features works - turning on/off, colour changing, brightness all works.

Note: This is done on latest Cygnett Hub firmware 3.0.4 and on Apple iOS 15.4

  • How does it compare to this one for https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/184649364256?

    • One works with Alexa and Google Home only and the new version we carry works with Apple Homkit.

      • If they ZigBee it would be more dependant on the hub?

        • +1

The chip that comes with the downlight should be certified with Apple Homekit or even the light works with the Hue app, it won't appear on the Homekit.

  • Does it work with Philips Hue Sync Box? I'm in the Philips Hue ecosystem and already got Hue Bridge.

    • It should

Sorry to let you know only genuine Philips Hue brand lighting products work with Hue Sync Box.

Hue Akari is the only RGB downlight that works with Hue Sync Box.

  • Would be seriously interested if this came in a 13W version. I've got 16 rgbw downlights at the moment that put out 850lm, but I have to use homebridge to connect them via homekit. Stepping down to 750lm is a bit too far to go down.

    • We now have the upgraded 12W ZigBee Downlight that works with Apple Homekit Directly.

      • Yes I did see that, though thank you for letting me know directly. Replacing 16 downlights that work perfectly fine just for native homekit support is still a bitter pill to swallow. Maybe I'll just order 2 for the bathroom which still have dumb lights lol
