  • 5600x for that price is Open Box btw

    • +1

Thanks, yeh I saw another OP posted, just fixed it to show the sealed box pricing :)

  • open box worth it or nah?

    • +3

Depends on how you see it, if any damage, you need to prove it wasn't you and the onus would be on you. I would always buy new but that is just me.

    • +1

Considering that AMD processors mostly uses PGA, I don't know if taking the risk is worth it.

  • +1

Open box should still have full warranty right?

  • +1

    The 5600x is gone

    • +2

The sealed one still showing for me
Guessed there was only one stock for the 5600X opened box

  • +1

First the cheap 3600 + mobo deal, and now this :)

  • 5800x + x570 more expensive than 12600KF + z690, which one you would choose

    • I'd go the 12600KF. Intel has taken the lead in single core performance and trades blows with the 5800x in multicore.

However things to take into account are there a lot of people with existing AM4 systems, it's a good time for a final upgrade to last it out a couple of years. Personally I'm waiting to see where the dust settles with new PSU requirements for RTX 4000, how PCIe 5.0 stacks up with AMD vs Intel, whether boards will eventually get gen5 nvme slots and whether DDR5 becomes worth buying, then do a big upgrade. Something like a 5800x will tie me over in the meantime.

    • -2

      x570? lmao

  • $300 really tempting to go from 3600x to 5600x

    • If you can sell the 3600x then there's no reason to not upgrade.

      • +1

would you see much performance difference though? tempted to do the same, not sure if it's justifiable though.

    • I went from a 3700x to a 5600x … I got like about 10fps gain on “Assetto Corsa Competizione”. It was smoother racing AI but pretty much the same when racing humans.

I did it cause I sold the 3700x for $350 and got the 5600x for $331 (Aug ‘21 Klarna deal)

So dunno if that helps you guys / glad or not ?

      • what dumbass paid that much for a 3700x

        • That was pretty much the going rate 6 months ago

It seems people are asking that kinda money +/- $50 for it now.

It def was better for productive work but I only game on mine now

        • They're selling for $400 on eBay so considering he paid $150 less than what is selling new and can sell for $350 now I hardly would call him a DA.

Shipping kills the deal. Payment surcharge makes it even worse.

    • Depends on your location tbh, for majority of the suburbs, it’s $11.60 shipping, and still cheaper than this eBay deal

      • +1

I was shown a higher shipping cost than that, but I'll use the $11.60 that you are seeing and eBay still wins every time. Especially so if you were to buy gift cards through ShopBack.

        5600G: 287.10 + 11.60 + 1% surcharge = $301.69 ($301.50 on eBay. $292.50 after cashback if you were to buy $300 worth of gift cards through ShopBack)
        5600X: 301.50 + 11.60 + 1% surcharge = $316.23 ($301.50 on eBay. $292.50 after cashback if you were to buy $300 worth of gift cards through ShopBack)
        5800X: 440.10 + 11.60 + 1% surcharge = $456.22 ($454.50 on eBay. $441.00 after cashback if you were to buy $450 worth of gift cards through ShopBack)
        5950X: 808.20 + 11.60 + 1% surcharge = $828.00 ($809.10 on eBay. $785.10 after cashback if you were to buy $800 worth of gift cards through ShopBack)

        • +2

Good point, the shipping kills it actually

Cheers for the detailed write up

        • +1

Fair call but bulk giftcards is way too much hassle and perceived risk for many people though.

          • @Skramit: hassle? u swipe, and its instantly in your stash?

            • @abjsdhasehasee: Hassle for me if you want to return the items

Did a couple of returns on Amazon due to damaged on delivery and they could only refund back to gift card

              • @BargainsGrabber: obv, because then you can just buy them discounted and turn them into free money?

i dont care anyway because im gonna spend the money eventually

amazon have (profanity) 12/10 service, given me liek $200 of promo credit just cause i asked

    • “FS31032022” this code turned up when i added 10storewide code which is free shipping.

      • That code is for GPUs only. Are you saying you somehow got it to work with a CPU?

        • +1

It worked on intel cpu. Thought it will be the same for amd.

edit: yeah my bad, didnt work on any amd cpus

          • @donthaveGamepass: You're right. It's not just with GPUs as I thought.

From what I've tested now it seems to work with Intel CPUs, Intel/AMD motherboards and all GPUs, but never if an AMD CPU is in the cart.

Even if you already have free shipping from an AMD motherboard, adding an AMD CPU will remove the offer entirely.

    • I totally agree with this!

    • You've listed the 5900X instead of the 5950X

      • Just a typo. Should say:

        • 5950X - $809.10 Delivered
  • +2

Thanks for Skramit for original mentioned on this post

    YW!

  • need a cpu+mobo+ram combo deal

    • +1

If you are chasing the 5900X, SE has a bundle for the Tomahawk x570s and 5900x. You can then add some crucial memory and score free shipping.

I was looking at this earlier today. But, at this point, I think I'm going to look at a Z690 mobo and memory from SE and add an OEM 12700K from ebay. Comes in slightly more expensive but better USB and more M.2 slots.

  • Not sure if this works on 5900x, if so it will come down to $589.50 + shipping, not a bad price but not as good as this previous price ($569 delivered) from amazon https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/683295
Personally, I'm waiting to see how good 5700x is before I upgrade my 3200G

  • Which mobo should I get?

    • -1

MSI had serious VRM issues, ASUS make some good 570 ones for around $250

    • +1

I've got the MSI x570s tomahawk wifi paired with a 5900x and it's been perfect! The VRMs are top notch

  • Hi guys, I got a 3600+b550+3060ti, is that worth upgrading to 5700x OR 5800X? does it help for better gaming and rhino modelling experience?

    • Save your money, you wont see any real benefit in gaming, I don't know anything abt Rhino though.

      • 20% IPC increase, at 1080p it's definately beneficial. 1440p and up, no benefits.

  • With the current eBay Plus 10% off coupon deal, if you've got eBay Plus, the eBay prices will be better due to no free delivery and no surcharges.

  • around $50 per core across all CPU lines, fair price .
