    Hardly excited

  • I have excited last time with my $488 Acer S3 ultrabook.

    • +2

      You have excited? You exited with your lappy

      • -1

        Heard an article today Men excited with their iPad more than their girl friend. Lol

        • +1

          Last time I checked I thought you read articles not hear them… xD

        • +7

          Actually I heard they read the article on radio :)

        • very slick answer (+)

        • Got 'im, yes!

  • I got the hp folio 13 for $996 - $300 cashback, which is pretty good. I am happy at that price. Not all HN will do it though, my local had them for $1200 before cashback so you need to shop around.

  • +4

    Lol, it's a Hardly Normal sale…not a Hardly Norman sale

  • You can get the cash back based on the online price.

    • after u fight and argue for 1 hr!

      • There's no reason they won't do it as it doesn't cost the individual store anything (in regards to the $300 cash back)

        • +3

          Yes they said the $300 is from HN's head office not from them. So I cannot understand why they cannot follow the web site price.

          So the ASUS or the HP is a good buy this time.

        • Exactly superforever :)

    WARNING: Stay away from Hardly Normal online!
    Placed an order online on Saturday, no status update for a few days.
    Contacted online and was told to contact the local store;
    Rang the pick-up store, found out there was no stock left and I must contact the online service to cancel the order;
    Rang the online service number forever and no one answered;
    Called my local shop again and asked them to cancel my order on my behalf;
    Two days later found out my credit card was charged, with no tax invoice received;
    Called online today, finally got through, was told the refund would take a long time…

    • +2

      I'd be contacting my credit card provider.

      It won't be an issue of a "refund" once you start there - and I suspect that you'll have a better experience dealing with your provider than you ever would dealing the turgid mess that is the HN network.

      Charge back will get the message through to them - and it'll cost HN where a prompt refund would have been cheaper, easier and less likely to damage any goodwill you have remaining towards our favourite store… not.

    "SAV1NGS" "$TOR3WIDE" Oh Harvey, you're so 1337

    Last week i was excited with my $ 788 laptop before $ 300, this week i would have to fork out $ 1288 and wait for the $300 which would make last week bargain a huge bargain for me. Had i not got it at that price last week then i would have taken the last Acer S3 from a closing down Dick Shit for $ 607.00. This weeks deal is No Deal !

    • +1

      u seem to have a problem with all the stores. i.e dick s#it

      • -5

        …..i am not stressing….i got my laptop last week ! You can neg all you want ….perhaps you were one of the lucky ones to get a game or two from DS……unfortunately I was on holiday in Switzerland.

        • +3

          fancy u assuming that im the one who neg'd u. which by the way i didnt. no point in negging u if im going to comment. no one will see my comment then

  • So Incredible S for $224.25?

    • Yes

    • Does that run on nextg?

      • I think it is 900/2100 for Optus.

        • damn,thats no good, any other suggestions or thats pretty much it in terms of deals that can go on NEXTG. will try to find some time to check it out tomorrow.

        • Try Telstra Samsung Galaxy Ace which you can get it for $149. My wife have it not a bad phone but CPU slower than Incredible S.

          You can check with them to see if they have Samsung Galaxy W vodaphone prepaid and can be unlock for a few $$ on ebay.

        • Thanks for the tips, one store today had 10% off, the other had 0% off………..zzzzzzzzzzz

          Must keep looking.

    Negging for no reason, because you negged mine for no reason, how does it feel? :)

    • doing my research on what you meant it does appear as the OP is a hypocrite posting this as a deal when he neg-ed the same deal the last time! wonder why

      • Exactly, beats me…

        • OK OK.. Because I don't know how to re-vote on your deal, also a lot of peoples in your deal said that HN refused to sell them with the cheaper price before cash back.

          Until the weekend more peoples confirmed more HNs agreed the cash back was for any ultrabook no matter what price.

          OK I have removed my -ve :-)
          But how can I put back +ve?

          Give a laugh mate.

    • Yeah, that's pretty hypocritical. How can you neg shaw's deal, then post the exact same deal once it's been extended?

      For anyone wondering, this is the deal in question: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68162

      • Actually, this deal has been posted three times.
        1. Current deal - posted by superforever
        2. www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68342 - DUPE posted by superforever; after negging the original post by shaw
        3. see gilbarc's comment above

        As superforever has said though, he negged shaw's post because other comments suggested that HN refused to match the cheaper online price if cash back was to be redeemed as well. To superforever's credit, this was probably true due to HN's overall lack of fairness.

        This is what I think happened:
        superforever negged shaw's post because he was following on other's accounts of HN dodginess earlier on.
        superforever goes and checks out the deal himself, and is pleasantly surprised and grabs an Acer Aspire ultrabook.

        This should earn shaw a revoke on the -ve but superforever is lost in the excitement of the deal and forgets.

        He then re-posts the deal, 'informing others' that the deal is on and he has evidenced it, contrary to others' doubts. 'Acer Aspire $488' www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68342

        Once, the deal was extended = this post.

        I have been following the deal quite closely as well as superforever's movements so I believe I know. /stalkerface ;)

        Hypocritical or not of superforever, it's what seems to have happened.

        • Thanks for following it up, I have removed the -ve from shaw's post which I forgot before.

          Anyway, it is all over now.

  • OK its shop specific. Make sure you call in advance

    • what is shop specific?

      • What he means is some store will base on the RRP and some will agree with the price on the web site of the Ultrabook $300 cash back deal.

        Last weekend most stores agreed base on the web price but this week not very sure.

        • yep that too… so i would call ahead because they are not obliged to be consistent this time. It all depended on how much stock they moved last weekend. So I would hit up the less popular stores.

  • % off for prepaid… the shop guys said if its not on the website its not automatically across the board. So my local place only had 10%

  • Is the acer s3 really can get for $498?

  • is the $300 cash back instore only or online too? can u order online, then pickup instore and get the cashback?

  • No SA stores doing any %age off mobiles - Totally Normal…

    OP: Which store/state?
