Bought one of these a month ago, first ever switch I've owned.

The OLED screen is insane for what I presume is 720p, classic Nintendo optimisation.

Couldnt imagine this is a massive upgrade from a regular switch, but as somebody who is a late adopter, the catalogue of games and ability to go from handheld to docked is really great. I recommend buying the OLED over a regular switch if you don't already own it.

Also get use to paying $60 for 4 year old games.

$60 games are too much. I am waiting for the STEAM DECK ohhhh yeah!

      • +6

I don't think we’ll see Steam Deck being sold in Australia anytime soon

      • Same here, been waiting for Steam deck for a while

100% this. People complain about paying $100-$120 for a just released next gen game but will happily fork out $60-$80 for a 4 year old mario game.

Not that I agree with either principle, but at least the price drops significantly on a ps5/xbox game after a few months.

If anything I think nintendo's approach is better. At least you know what the game is 'worth', and for games which aren't hugely multiplayer or trendy I don't see why they would devalue hugely in a relatively short period of time. Factorio is a good example of this IMO. It's just priced at what it's worth, instead of charging a 'lazy' fee for people who don't want to wait for sales.

Well I did sell for my switch for exactly the same price I paid, and likewise all my games so it's good in that regard.

If the PS5 wasnt so difficult to find, there'd be zero chance i'd break even if I decided to sell all my games and accessories.

      • +4

I guess the nice thing about the switch is ill be able to re-sell my games once I'm done with them for little loss.

Obviously if you go digital or you're lazy you don't get this benefit.

I was playing one of the first party games side by side with a friend who had the OLED snd i was using the v2. The difference in handheld mode is… well, it can really be a deciding factor if you seldom play it docked.

    7 inches isn't enough.

    (cough, that's what she said)

User name (kind of) check out

  • So many OLED deals recently. Decided to just jump on this one. Now to sell my v2.
