    Yeah right, never was $469

  • yuck that's ugly

Either way, $199 at scorptec, Mwave, and Catch as well.

  • The reviews for this are horrible.

  • I wonder if anybody ever actually payed $469 for this headset…

If you want a really good gaming headset for under $200 get the Philips Fidelio L2 for $128 + the V-Moda boompro for $59 (replaces the 3.5mm cable of the headphones with a proper headset microphone). Or sub out the Fidelio L2 with your headphones of choice.

    • Posting this in case people are put off by the looks of this one or other gaming headsets

    • I have always wondered about the surround sound on this combo e.g. when playing fps such as warzone or tarkov where positional sound is really important do the Fidelio perform in a comparable way to gaming headsets with surround (albeit virtual surround)?

Can you comment if you do have this combo and play such games?

      Thanks in advance

I used to play Warzone but don't currently have it installed. The only shooter I have installed at the moment was Halo Infinite, which I know isn't really the same. There's definitely some directional audio but maybe the front/back was a bit hard to differentiate (i was just rotating in front of a airlift thing). But front right compared to back right was clearly different, just not straight back vs straught front. But I wasn't sure if I was having some placebo affecting how I thought it sounded.

So I've been looking into it for awhile, and I can't see any reason why a gaming headset with virtual surround sound should be able to give better surround surround than stereo headphones. You might need to install Dolby Atmos to get it working how you want, as I believe that's just effectively what gaming headsets do - use their own software to do virtual surround sound? Or maybe you don't even need to mess with Dolby Atmos and can just rely on the audio engine of the game?

At the end of the day, there are headphones with a better sound stage than the L2, but I don't think any compete with it for the price of $128. As it's an older model it's significantly come down in price since its release.

If there's any specific situations or sound tests you want me to test I'm more than happy to.

        • I don't know if any tests to run but I appreciate your detailed response!

I don't disagree that's a great combo, but there are good reasons some people want to go wireless. I have some decent headphones, but i'll still choose my wireless gaming headset for the convenience.

This epos/sennheiser model has some of the best sound in the gaming headset category - and unlike bluetooth headphones, latency is minimal

I'm not sure about latency of wireless gaming headset vs wireless headphones, it's not something I've looked into.

If people enjoy gaming headsets for minimal latency that's great, I just didn't want to effectively pay twice for a good headset and good headphones. I can unplug the mic and plug in the original cable and take my headphones outside, which would also look a bit silly with some of the designs of gaming headsets.

        But I see your point!

  • I bought one for Christmas at $199 but the microphone would randomly stop working requiring half an hour or so reinstalling the drivers and finding the right magic incantation to get it working again. After the 3rd time it was boxed up and sent back. I found them quite uncomfortable so they are not worth for me it, spewing cos I gave my daughter my Logitech G933 which for me was a much better headset.

  • I have this set, it's really good. If I had to so it again I probably would have got the lower model with the huge battery life
But I'm happy with my purchase

I have both and prefer the 370. Battery life is the clencher. 100h vs 15-20.

Not sure what you mean by not as good quality though - they feel virtually the same in build quality. If it's the mic, when both on 2.4ghz, I can't tell the difference between them and get the same clarity remarks on the 370 as I did on the 670.

        • in regards to comments, some of them said the 370 was a little Tinny. thanks for the feedback though, tempted to get another set for the kids maybe.

yeah, that battery life is massive, and would be pretty awesome, as it is a little bit of a pain with the 670.

          • @wisc: I don't think i've ever noticed much, if any difference, between both the 370 and 670 when using 2.4ghz - I am not a young man though so maybe my ears are shit 🤣
