This previously popular 3D printer filament drying box is on sale again and works out to be a little cheaper than before.

For those who don't know what this is for. It's used for keeping your spools of filament dry as humidity can cause the filament to absorb moisture. Resulting in lower quality prints, decreased strength, increased stringing and an inconsistent extrusion rate to name a few.

Yes. I set website currency to USD since the AUD is inflated, apply both codes and use MasterCard conversion website to get the AUD price since that'll be closest to the exchange rate.

If you have a currency conversion free card setup in PayPal then you can get the same or very near this rate. Set AliExpress to USD, checkout and at the PayPal payment screen where you select which card, there will be a See Currency Options or similar underneath. Then you choose to pay in USD.

Same applies to all websites with other currencies.

Many people don't know that PayPal's conversion rate is about 4% more expensive than the Mastercard conversion rate.

If you have a Mastercard that doesn't charge fees for conversion or for overseas transactions, it's usually cheaper to buy in USD with such a card.

28degrees card and Bankwest Platinum card are cards without such fees.

In PayPal, you can set PayPal to automatically charge your cards in the "billing currency", so if the seller tells PayPal a USD amount, you'll see the USD amount when you checkout through PayPal, and your card will be charged in USD.

They have $13 PETG 1KG Black Rolls, min order of 10 though

  • Sunlu dryer isn't great. eSun is better.

    • They're all pale in comparison to a proper food dehydrator.

      • Of course, food dehydrator reaches higher temps, but this is easy to use while you are printing on a non stop rain month…. and your house humidity is literal 100%.

The rollers on the esun dryer is smoooth (ball bearings), but that smoothness is only good when the bloody filament is coiled properly, my current roll of esun petg clear is horribly tangled. I had to unroll and reroll the damn thing. That being said my other esun filament rolls all are fine.

But if you want to dry and then store filaments away then sure get a food dehydrator.

        • Temp is not the problem as I only heat up to 55c, these filament dryer does not have a proper air ventilation so humidity does not have anywhere to go and stays inside the box. Good to keep filament dry while printing after 12h in food dehydrator though.
