amaysim $50 28 Day Unlimited Call & Text, 80GB SIM (115GB Data First Month, Limited OS Calls) for $20 @ Woolworths in-Store Only

70

My BOOST mobile 1 year plan expired today and I didn't really want to shell out $300 to renew it given they've reduced the benefits pretty hard.

Woolworths had this $50 AMAYSIM Unlimited 80GB SIM for sale for $20.

Sorry I couldn't link to it at Woolworths because it isn't listed on their web site.

It comes with 115GB data in the first month plus unlimited Australian texts and calls. Also some calls free to overseas

Full details here:
https://www.amaysim.com.au/plans/mobile-plans/unlimited-xlar…

It also comes with unlimited data banking, so if you renew your plan each month you rollover all unused data

Note - it's $20 for the SIM, but after 28 days each recharge is $50 per 28 days.
On the first recharge you will get 115GB of data. Subsequent recharges only 80GB.

I am considering buying 6 SIMS and churning each month for 6 months .

Note AMAYSIM use the OPTUS 4G network.

How will you churn and keep the same number ? Won't Amaysim state that you already have a sim active with that existing number?

I may have to churn out of Amaysim using a $2 SIM then back into them.

It's a pain, but it saves $30 less the cost of the $2 SIM each month….

      • You may not be able to activate $2 Sim cards without a recharge

        Boost is $300 for year.

This is equivalent to $240 per year, plus the $2 churn Sims $22 (you don’t churn first month) thats $262 you save $38 or $3 a month.

If one of the churns gets messed up, is it worth the pain. Given you want a lot of data, you must use that every day. A churn thats delayed may mean a day or two without data, and no calls out.

Boost is 280GB for a year for $300

Churning 6 times I would get 690GB for 6 months.

I may end up going back to Boost if this proves to be a headache. Also not familiar with the Optus network vs Telstra.

          • @TheCandyMan2020: makes sense if you need 690Gb of data. But you seem to have been ok with the 280 previously. Also note watchnerds 28 day remark

  • I’m sorry I can’t see the 115gb promo for the first recharge? Where does it say it? I had an experience where I had to prove to Amaysim the promo hence the question. Thank you!

It is on the cardboard packaging that comes with the SIM at Woolworths.

I activated my SIM today and got 115GB. It says I will get 80GB + 35GB on my first recharge too - but at $50 for another 28 days I don't think I'll be doing that…

Op it seems a big headache to move out and then back. It would still cost $286 if you did the moving out and back in if you were spending $20 + $2 sim 13 times a year (which would still need a recharge).
You’ll be better off with a Kogan offer when they come back such as https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/683449

Generally speaking 28 days is not a month.

  • edit: misread price

  • Anyone know if this is still on?
