This smart laundry basket features a host of practical features that help make wash day less of a chore. Beneath the lid it has two 45-litre fabric tote bags allowing you to separate washing into light and dark/coloured fabrics. Each bag has handles at the top enabling you to conveniently lift and carry it straight to the machine and a helper handle on the base to make emptying easier.

When replacing each bag in the basket theres no fiddly ties or buttons to do up either as the self-locating rim ensures it drops perfectly back into place, ready for the next load.

    $174.95 for a basket ! I'd rather use this 25$ Kmart separation basket : https://www.kmart.com.au/product/lights-and-darks-sorting-ha…

The Kmart separation basket wins the ugly award.

I got one of these as a gift a few months back. I don’t know that I’d pay for one, but it’s enormous and very comfortable and easy to use. My last laundry basket was always having stuff get stuck or something - or it was awkward to carry or something. The handles on this are lovely - it works VERY nicely,

It was a weird amount of work to assemble for a basket though - and if it hadn’t been a gift I’d definitely never have had one.

I'm not sure if you are talking about the Kmart comment or the post here.

Serves me right for posting while sleep deprived. I’ve got one of the Joseph Joseph idiotic laundry baskets. I don’t have much taste - but I have enough to not have the Kmart abomination in my house.

      • How big is each compartment? Can you fit multiple towels or just scrunched up pieces of clothing? It looks small in the pictures

        • +5

Sodding enormous. It’s 90 litres capacity in total - so you’d fit a solidly built adult man into it (with some awkward disassembly required first I guess). But it’s only waist high - so it takes up the floor footprint of a properly tubby bloke.

I can easily fit two king size sheets, a king size waffle weave blanket, the all six pillowcases my girlfriend needs for some reason, and a super king doona cover into one side with about half the bag to spare. I’ve had a weeks laundry in one side and full change of sheets and etc in the other and it wasn’t close to full.

Mine was a gift - and I didn’t clock how big it was until I put it together. But if I was buying another one - I’d get the 60L for the smaller footprint.

Ozbargainers can be harsh, typically on the deal, not OP personally.

    • +1

      Not all ozbargainers.
Just the trolls that are very opinionated and should just scroll on instead.

I like how on the Myer page there's a picture of this nice lady taking out the basket and just dumping everything on the floor anyways :D

I love how the 60L version on Amazon has a subscribe and save discount with one a month being most common LOL https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08QMDZ86J

    • +1

I saw that! So weird. I was close to editing the post and putting “further 10% discount when purchasing the subscribe and save and just cancel the subscription”

Then i realised it’s for the 60L only lol.

nothing against OP but $120 for a hamper is too much.
Kmart sells plenty variants for $15-$30 each

I've got the aldi ones and the hinges are shit, one stopped working last week and the whole lid ripped off

  • I’m pretty sure this exact model was $99 at Costco when I was there yesterday. Didn’t really think it was a bargain so I didn’t post it.

    • It could of been the 60L variant possibly.

If you purchase this through Myers eBay store & use the code AFPY10 with Afterpay you can shave a few dollars off & get it for $110.21 for anyone interested.

    so racist

I recently got the 60L version as I needed something that was sturdy (non-collapsible), had 2 sections, was tall (so dog can't get in it) and had a lid. I could not find ANY others that fitted that criteria. I got mine on sale but yeah it was a lot to pay for a laundry hamper.
However, the quality is very good, it looks great, it is very sturdy and being able to remove the bags is useful. It was a lot but I don't think I regret it, hopefully get many many years out of it.

My pile on the floor is working just fine

Same… until my wife whacked me on the back of the head.

      • they all do the same thing haha I got whacked too

  • I have never seperated my whites from colours. Never had an issue, I must be the only person on Earth that hasn't experience colour runoff

    A cardboard box will suffice

    • same until i lived with my girlfriend and all my white shirts in that wash turned pink

      • +3

Me too. My son put his lucky red hat in with my white work shirts. Needless to say I was the laughing stock of the workplace and they thought I had gone crazy and I ended up in a mental institute where I met Michael Jackson.

If there are no holes in the basket and if you put sweaty cloths in that, it will make them smell worse and the smell will literally infuse into the cloths. I have the 21$ basket purchased from bunnings. Does the job better at lower price - https://www.bunnings.com.au/ezy-storage-63l-encore-laundry-h…

  • Costco is $99.99 for 90L

Worth to those need. I need 60L :(
