  • Decent first post, Well done (Y)

  • +1

PAL is good but it's not the only thing to watch out for. UK is region 2 and Australia is region 4. Doesn't matter so much these days as most machines are dvd region free …. but not all.

  • As a comparison, Amazon UK is about $63 delivered at the moment.

Bound to make you laugh so hard, you'd think you were bipolar.

    • +17

personally I don't like the humour, but I suppose whatever gets you off ;)

      • Plenty will from memory!

        • +2

          And that's the sad thing.

        • Nah I can't stand watching two and a half men…the humour is too crude IMO.

I was making a Charley Sheen reference, but noone seemed to get it :(

        • @doey
I couldn't decide whether you liked it or not IYKWIM ;)
Note: I have watched a few episodes

        • +2

If you think canned laughs are the height of comedy… sure.

  • +34

Good deal… Only problem is having to sit through 8 seasons of Two and a Half Men

    • Agree with you. Watch about 8 episodes while in hospital, felt so sick about watch it, decided not to watch it any one. It is so mean and nasty, I could only watch it once a week thru my "dark side" to release the daily pressure that builded up

      • +4

If you want nasty try It's always sunny in..

      • +3

You had to watch 2.5 men in hospital? Were they pulling a Clockwork Orange on you or something?

    • +1

This is one of the worst long running "comedies" I have ever known. I just cannot find it funny.

I hate Qantas for airing this crap every time I'm on the plane too.

  • +7

this is only good deal if when opened a mechanical fist pops out and punches the people that buy it in the face!

  • Bought this last year from Amazon UK with the now (sadly) expired free shipping option for roughly the same price. Excellent price/deal.

  • +13

Not a bargain, because the show is about as funny as blow-torching your nipples off.

A certified crackhead and some retard with early-onset dementia making lame jeers at women who would be lightyears out of their league IRL.
You could just watch your weird uncle and your old man at a family gathering for much the same result.

    • Without the chicks of course

    • +5

And on that note, another crappy show is Big Bang Theory. I watch both of them on the occasion and honestly don't know where to laugh. They're not funny at all. They must be doing something right though with how long they've been going

      • +3

Agreed. Tbbt hasn't been funny for a while… I'll still watch it, but it's nowhere near the quality of the first season.

        • +3

you mean it ever was funny?

        • +1

it used to be nerdy and funny the first season and maybe the second but now its the same boring comedy with a laugh track.

That's why I shifted to Parks and Rec(son) and Community,

        • +3

Troy and Ahbed in the morning!

      • +6

All these Chuck Lorre shows are dumb, simple-minded drivel for Middle America, and exploit stereotypes of nerds/fat people/Charlie Sheen for cheap laughs. And when they don't get them, don't worry because here's that canned laugh track, so you know exactly what's supposed to be funny and what's not!

All these shows rack up great ratings precisely because they're unchallenging. Joe Sixpack doesn't need to understand geek culture or boobs, he just needs to clap on cue like seals at seaworld when the TV throws him a bucket of chum. It's 21st century prolefeed.

      • +2

Thank goodness someone else sees it the same way I do. Thought I was going mad!
I hounestly am baffled by TBBT. I cannot for the life of me comprehend how people can laugh at such moronic lowest common denemoninator drivel. It doesn't come across as nerdy, but rather overly verbose. I cannot see any soul or genuine humanity in any of those pathetic characters.

        • I think TBBH was good in the first season! It exploited a subject matter that was previously undone! I find a lot of the science and nerd/geek reference to be quite funny! For example when he dressed up as the Doppler effect or how he created a friendship algorithm!

        • +1

Never watched the first season (AFAIK) but yeah, it's not worth a single darn laugh. It's just overacted and awful. It's possibly more painful to watch than 2 and a half men.

Maybe we could race them. To the bargain bin.

    • +1

While we're discussing mainstream media drivel; I also forgot to note the underlying homo-eroticism of Two and a Half Men, as it seems from the few episodes I have seen, whenever Charlie gets to close bedding a chick, his friend or that little turd cock blocks him by rudely interrupting or causing a scene with an off-colour remark and then they somehow cathartically dispel Charlie's urges with some good ol' manly bonding; usually closing with the three of them sitting the on couch… which I can't but see as being rather contradictory to the voracious appetite for women Charlie supposedly has.

Just another cross against the list for this boring show.

Some of us actually take enjoyment from seeing deals like these posted.

You know that smug feeling of superiority and self-satisfaction you get from believing you have better taste than people who watch the show? That one.

  • +5

Or save the money and watch one of the 50 episodes Channel Nine put on every week.

    • that's Ozbargainer

  • you all need to chill a bit. stop taking life so seriously and judging others and instead, just focus on yours. i personally enjoy watching lorne's shows because while they may be lacking in sophistry, they are good for a cheap laugh. and sometimes thats just what i want.

    • -4

It seems their social life revolves around watching re runs of re runs, let the little babies have their bottle..,

      • … What does this even mean?

        • Are you?

        • -2

          Are you?

    • +1

"because while they may be lacking in sophistry"

      http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sophistry

      You mean sophistication?

      My point exactly.

    • I sure hope you don't think 'sophistry' is the noun of sophisticated…

  • For people who have bad Ch9 reception? ;-)

  • +2

I'm sure that's not a bad deal. The way Channel 9 flogs the crap out of this show makes me wonder who'd buy it. I've seen some episodes 4 times now and they also screen it on Go repeatedly. The series is now a dead duck since Charlie left. Ashton Kutcher is just awful.

    • I felt the same way when I got the friends box set ages ago, but it's got some episodes I like, and it's funny periodically.

    • -5

Two and a half men are hilarous! Can't believe all these bad reviews.

  • +1

    Bi-winning!

  • +1

Awesome first post. I will pay more for a box set without the Ashton Kutcher episodes!!!
