    Endorsed by Bruce Wayne.

    • +3

      Interesting choice Mr Wayne

  • +1

Bruce Wayne uh who's that? Sounds like a cool guy….

  • +1

These were meant to be released without the marlin logo according to Jody's world exclusive review but as you can see they have it. Confirmed in this review.

    • With the marlin logo, they should’ve nicknamed it Casio Duro Aquaman

      • +13

        Or the Marlin Brando.

        • +3

Shut up and take my money.

        • The Godfather watch

  • +6

Amazon Australia should really be able to price this closer to the USD$48.97 on Amazon USA.

  • +3

great watch, its better IRL, serious dive quality, has to be the best quartz analogue of all time, there - its been said.

    • +1

If I was actually going to dive, I would trust a $100 quartz over a $10000 mechanical watch.

      • +1

I prefer quartz myself, but other than the quartz action vs mechanical action consideration all things should be equal for dive watches. It isn't the mechanism that determines whether it can handle depth or not, it's the casing. The casing doesn't care what's inside. The one exception are those auto watches where the action is visible from the rear - those rear crystals seem to be the weak point when pressure testing. If you're diving (I imagine this is a small percentage of folk who own divers), I'd avoid those types of watches. But then if I was diving I'd get an iso certified watch - I got one of these from a watchnerd deal a few years ago under au$200! There are just as many iso certifiend autos too though https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B016R90VBK/ref=twister_B09NLNHF…

Thought about posting this yesterday and got distracted, nice one WatchNerd.

  • +2

Batman edition but has a logo of a fish?

    • +10

Yeah that's because when Batman is having a day off he likes to go fishing for marlin.

      • +2

utility belt comes in handy for that

        • +3

This watch is not only water resistant but also shark repellent.

    • +1

They could at least have the batman logo instead of that marlin logo.

  • -3

    its a $50-60 watch, dont pay $100!

    • +3

This is the lowest price I have seen for the new Batman model. Backed up by Camel.

If you just want the cheapest then currently blue is $78.40.

    poor man's GMT?

    • +12

      Yeah poor old Bill Gates

    • -1

i got the pagani design GMT batman which looks identical in look and feel to the real thing for about 150 bucks delivered

      • -1

Identical? Not quite. Good for $150 though!

      • pagani design? more like a pagani copy, lol

        • its a homage watch, look up the definition of a homage watch, its definitely much better than this tho, better movement and better finish. i can say this as i have both. and older version of this with the fish on it and the pagani one.

    • it isn't a GMT

  • +2

44 - 45mm is massive. Gotta be as burly as Bruce Wayne to wear this

  • I am not into watches, so need a little help, what's your thoughts on this watch? Can't find any review. Thanks

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Casio-MTP-VD01BL-1BV-Enticer-Leath…

    • Personally I would wait for the black Casio Duro to drop in price if you want a cheap black face quartz Casio watch in this price bracket. Old post here.

      • Thanks, any all back duro without sliver?

        • -1

          I hodl sliver.
          Not a financial advice.

    • This a phenomenal quartz watch for under $100, and there are plenty of reviews attesting that :)

  • Nice watch, nice price but once you go Eco-Drive, you can’t go back to batteries.

    • Hopefully with an eco drive the battery should last longer. I still have a 12 year old 5600 that is on it's original battery, and it isn't eco drive.

  • How much would it cost to service the watch/test waterproofing once the battery dies?
Also what's the battery life like ?

    • On that note, anyone can recommend a place to get battery replacement in Melbourne CBD? And an idea of cost?

    • +1

Battery life seems to be 3 years, at least that's what I've read.

    • +2

On a watch this cheap, you're basically paying the whole price of the watch and more to service, replace the battery and pressure test. Servicing and pressure testing are expensive, individually more expensive than the price of a watch.

Long story short, apart from replacing the battery (which is easy to do yourself) you wouldn't pressure or service a watch this cheap. It's literally cheaper to buy a new watch.

  • +1

    Ask me why

  • +1

I've already got the Gold and also the Blue version on the way, do I collect the entire set?

    • +3

      Oh Yes.

      • +3

But I'd need the arms of a Hindu God to wear them all.

    • No, if you can't/don't wear them they're not much use are they? Besides if you're doing it just for the sake of collecting then collect something that's worth something or a little harder to find.

But that's just my thought on it. I'm actively keeping my collecting as small as possible and only getting watches I love (and wear) with different watches plus bands so I can wear them in different situations.

  • +2

love this series, I got the marlin one… here's comparison with the pro master

    https://imgur.com/a/JEV0BTO

  • what's batman about it?

    • -7

Its just a cash grab riding on the coat tails of the newly released batman movie.

They could have at least replaced the marlin emblem with the batman logo.

      • +7

Casio have nothing to do with the nickname as with most nicknames for watches. Explained here.

        • +1

          Interesting.. but odd..

(profanity) Galore.. i like that nickname.

          • @roozmik: There sure are some interesting nicknames for them watches.

      • +4

Lol it's got nothing to do with the movie. It's a colour theme made famous on the Rolex GMT master ii with Batman's colours of blue and black

    • +3

      google rolex batman

    • +2

It refers to the colour of the bezel, blue and black is Batman, red and blue is Pepsi. Not sure if there are names for other colour combinations.

      • +1

        Coke = red and black

        • +1

          Hulk = green :-)

          • +4

@ShouldIBuyIt: That's not exactly true. Hulk is green face and green dial.
Kermit is black face and green dial.

      • There's also root beer.

        • +4

Let's try and start our own nickname. Next time someone posts the black dial Casio Duro the title should be - Casio Bill Gates

  • -6

What the Heck point is the batman for??? It's not a GMT for crying out loud.

Sad watch, not a diver, not much of anything at all really just like Bill and all his OS'$$$

    • +1

      …..
      …….
Show us on your wrist where the big mean Casio touched you! We won't judge you ZilogX :P

      • +1

Awww thanx for caring, Its just under where a real batman sits !~)

    • I get your point and for watch enthusiast with minimum criteria they wouldn't look at this. But for many the thought of spending thousands or 10's of thousands is ridiculous and this works nicely for them.
Hence why I appreciate watchnerds input. He is always about getting good watch quality for cheap.
My median watch purchase is around 2k where most expensive is a $4600 longines spirit and cheapest is citizen eco drive for $150. There is always a place for cheap good watches as a daily beater

  • Cool, input ++

  • -2

    Poor man's rolex/tudor? lol
