Are these similar to the officeworks ones that were on sale? I note these have USB-C/
Thinking about upgrading from two 24" to two of these haha

i have a 28” 4 k at home and it’s a much nicer experience than using 2x24 which i do at work , going back to the office will be a move down in regards to screens …..31” screen at 4 k would be nice ….. i ditched my extra wide as needed too much head movement while working (l-r) with 4 k it also makes good use of the up down space.

      • Thanks for sharing this, it contrasts well with my want of an ultra-wide.

Are the 24s 1080 or 1200 do you know?

        • my work ones are 1080 p.

          • @juns: just make sure you lock the monitor so your co-worker can't steal it.

Got a curved 32" 4k at home and 2 x 28" 4k at work. I do agree that bigger screen size is nicer.

        • size matters

        • Currently working with a Dell curved 32". Would a flat 32 next to a curved 32" drive you crazy?

          • @payless69: Don't know.

            But I do have a 1080p 27" next to my curved 32"

I am fine with that setup

Edit: the 27" is IPS, you might have different experience if you use non IPS.

    • +1

This is better, according the specs it can reach 350nits. Officework one only up to 250nits

    • Obviously depends what you're doing but I actually went down from 2 x 27" to 2 x 24"@1200 and prefer this as a sweet spot for productivity.

  • +1

Can't find any really good reviews of it like the ones rtings do but on feature list alone I'd say $499 is a good deal.

I use a 32" at home. The vertical angle between top and bottom is quite high. Unless you sit far away, I think you're better off with 27/28".

    • +4

I use 2x 32" at home and at work (as does the rest of my office) and I think it is honestly the sweet spot from about a 60cm distance

      • Toying to get a flat 32 next to a curved 32 one but would that drive me crazy?

        • +1

That is exactly what I have at home, and I actually quite like it. I use the flat as my primary and the curved as the secondary, kinda arched slightly more towards me. I don't think I could ever go only curved, everything just looks too weird and warped, but as a secondary it works well.

          • @witheredcouch: Would this one: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334125568715?hash=item4dcb6f92cb…
be happy conecting to a Macbook air?
The Dell S3221QS looks good on the PC but crappy on the Macbook Air.

            • +1

@payless69: That's odd, do the Macbook Air's have particular issues outputting to some monitors? What cable are you using? I have the same Dell 32" and have only ever plugged it in to non apple devices and it has functioned fine (I just don't own any), so couldn't confirm.

              • -2

@witheredcouch: Probably the non Apple brand USB-C to HDMI converter. The only good thing on the Macbook is the Oled screen. Was going to use it for extra security on financial transactions but is it safer?

                • +2

@payless69: I am pretty sure no Macbook's use Oled screens. Honestly I have no Idea, but if I dislike OSX, however if I were to buy a laptop at the moment I'd be very tempted by an M1 Max Macbook Pro as almost nothing else offers that size/heat/battery/performance ratio. If you could try a different type C to USB-C or displayport cable that might help?

            • +1

@payless69: I think that really depends on the kind of dock or converter you use

I have the M1 MacBook air and I use it on a variety of Dell screens, including a Philips 4K 40-in screen at 60 Hz

I have had some cheap USB-C to HDMI or DVI adaptors that didn't work so well

Especially the Philips screen worked only with a dock at 60 Hz and 30 Hertz with the cheap adaptor at 4K. I believe the limitation here is the Phillips screen which is displayport 1.2

Can confirm that a 40-in flat screen really gets starring when you look at the corners? And do you do want the curve? 32-in flat is still fun

  • Looks pretty good. If only it had a bit higher refresh rate I'd probably bite.

Cheapest 4k ips 32" I have come across by a solid margin. If I didn't already already have dual VA 4k 32" that do the job, i'd hump on this.

        Gotta do something with 32"

    • Kogan has 32 4K IPS for years for as low as $350 …

Not too bad for a second screen either.

      • +1

I've seen lots of Kogan 32" 1440p IPS for that price, not 4k but I guess I have missed it.

  • +2

    Could I do { 4K display + USB ports + webcam/mic + power } all to my MacBook via 1x USB-C Thunderbolt cable?

Found this thread with some info but it's too complex for me to process whilst also "working from home" lol

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/rv0aon/lenovo_l32…

    • It would. The limitation might what type of MacBook and what you do with it from a power delivery side. It would be fine for MBA and lower spec MBP. But high end MBP 16 M1 pro or max might need more power if you are heavily using it as the USBc power delivery from the display is 75w.

  • This is good for PS5? Only 60hz tho :/

    • -3

Using monitors with consoles doesn't make a lot of sense.

FOV is set low for sitting far back and "gaming TVs" such the LG CX line are very good with response times close to monitor performance.

How is this compared to the Dell U2720Q? I have that Dell at work - like it - much better than the Samsung 27" QHD that I have at home. So thinking of replacing it.
    Thanks

    • +1

That is smaller and slightly less power over USBc (65w), otherwise similar specced u2722QC @$454. I would seriously consider waiting for a sale on the u2723qe which is brighter, has much better blacks and delivers 90w to the laptop, but a lot dearer atm @$938.
I think this dell would be the nearest comparison at 32inches.
      https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-ultrasharp-32-4k-usb-c-…
It is a much superior monitor to the Lenovo, but it is also $750 more.

The dells also have built in KVM switching, which would be really cool except power is delivered via only one of the USBc ports.

      • I couldn't find the U2722QC. Did you mean the S2722QC?

I'm not working in the visual field, so the ability to render correct colours is not my top priority - as long as the colours are not washed out - I'm good.
The biggest problem have with my Samsung screen is the sharpness (I hope that's the right term) - the border of the text is not smooth - although it's a QHD 27", it's not as good as my older FHD 24" Dell ultrasharp

      • What do you about this Lenovo vs U3219Q?
Is 2019 too old? I’m buying second hand for around $700-$900, like what’s a suitable price

  • would this be better than the $427 LG deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/684731#comment-11801631 for the purpose of a work use screen at home (non-gaming purpose)? i dont really require the webcam and speakers but the usb-c power passthrough would be useful. just unsure if paying $72 more for that would be worthwhile

    • The USB C tax used to be hundreds of dollars.

      • hmmm…so this pass through feature should no longer be deemed to be as a premium feature as before? i guess should just focus on ips vs va feature and whether the additional $72 for this lenovo model is worthwhile for just that

        • +1

If I were buying again, I would opt for it.

Cable management on my desk is already a nightmare.

  • I have the Lenovo T32p-20 and am happy. This looks very similar but just with out a height adjustable stand and much better price.

    • This my conundrum.. I've been looking at the T32p and the P32p as well. Seems as those the T32p and P32p have better colour configurations and gammut which is important to me as my wife is a photographer. She hasn't been editing on a 4k monitor =/ let alone a colour accurate one..

Cashrewards are giving 14% at the Lenovo website but I can't find this monitor on there - this is the closest I can find:
    https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/accessories-and-monitors/monito…

  • No built in speaker according to Amazon questions - only 3.5mm jack

    • +1

I too found it's strange, from the Tech spec part it clear says no built in speaker and webcam, but from the title says built in for both.

    • +1

In usual style the Amazon listing is for three (completely) different monitors.

    • Looks like the answers section may be wrong, as everything else I have been able to find says that speakers are included.

    • +3

That is a VA panel, and not a very good one. The Lenovo is a far superior IPS panel. VA has better blacks, and might be the better choice for gaming, but can still suffer from glow and bleed. VA also sees more ghosting in fast paced games than IPS does. LG panels are very hit and miss in my experience. I've definitely had better luck with Lenovo in the past. For work use, the Lenovo would absolutely be the better choice. Gaming/movies, perhaps the LG if you get a good panel.

  • why not this dell 34"

I am unsure what panel the Lenovo will use, the Dell will use a Samsung one.

    • don't like curved monitors

    • That is a very different monitor.

    • A 34" ultrawide and a 32" are quite different use-cases. Remember that due to aspect ratio a 31.5" 16:9 is actually bigger in area than a 21:9 34". A 34" is a 27" class. monitor with more width. I can see the appeal, but they aren't really often cross-shopped, you either desire one or the other. For example, I am a diehard dual monitor user, and one ultrawide wouldn't be enough screen realestate to fix that, but two next to eachother would be too wide, so 31.5" 16:9 works well.

If you wish to see the difference in size:
      http://www.displaywars.com/31,5-inch-16x9-vs-34-inch-21x9 (

  • So what’s the cheapest with these specs but 144hz?

    • A decent 32" 4k 144Hz one without the USB-C stuff is over $1,000. Add $200-$300 for the USB-C stuff.

      • Fml, you can’t have one without sacrificing the other :/

  • Thanks just grabbed one, this is a really good price for 32", 4k with usb-c and an IPS panel.
Tbh I have waited for such deal since black friday.
Take the Mwave as an example, you cant find 4k monitor with IPS panel for less than $800.

    • How much is this monitor usually?

      • I think Jb had it for 700? but not sure if it's the same version

  • +2

Spec sheet says that the usb-c port is DP 1.2. As far as I'm aware, you cannot do 4k60 and usb3 over the same cable unless you have either Thunderbolt or DP 1.4, which this is not. I was thinking about getting this, but yeah, doesn't look good unless you can live with 4k30

This article does a good explanation about 4k60 on usb-c, its a few years old, but has been updated to explain DP 1.4
    https://www.bigmessowires.com/2019/05/19/explaining-4k-60hz-…

edit: I read on the reddit thread someone linked above, looks like it gives you a setting to choose between usb3 + 4k30, and usb2 + 4k60. Not a bad outcome actually, if the hub is just running mouse and keyboard.

    • Does 30hz matter for static screens? Excel etc

  • Looks like clearance

  • Does anyone know if there is any monitor OVER 32" - not curved, IPS and 4k? Does it even exist?

31.5 is slightly too small for 4k (IMO) I run 2560x1600 on 30" now. I reckon 34/36" would be amazing at 4k.
(I'm almost positive there are none) :(

    • There are from several brands.

Maybe the cheapest one is philips 438p1.

      • Yeah that's 43" tho - I've looked into it, I LOVE a huge monitor - but I've measured, 43" is insane big - I think 36" max (flat display) is the sweet spot

  • Received, good monitor.

But cannot turn off usb-c power delivery, disappointed.

Back in stock, but back up to $699. Costco also has them, but for $599

    • $499 was a great price, might try and wait for it to hit that price again.

  • +2

Back in stock at $559. I've jumped on at that price.

    • Good pick up. Right now it’s no longer in stock but you can still place orders.

    • +1

      Also that price at JB

      • Might cancel my Amazon order and go pick it up at my local JB. cheers.

      • Thanks for the heads up. Cancelled Amazon order and bought from local jb using discounted Woolies Him gift cards. Any warranty claims should be easier compared to Amazon.

      • Thanks got it from JB.

Okay guys I didn't expect much from the built in speakers but so far they're on par with a PC case speaker. Barely usable.

I've already wall mounted it - is there any possibility of there being protective film or something back there I need to remove?

    • How do you find it for general productivity though? I'll be using it for work only.

      • It’s great as a monitor! But the speakers are unusable and the camera is just okay. I’ll be returning it as my use-case is conferencing and it won’t quite cut the mustard. On the other hand I’ll end up paying twice as much for probably just a slight improvement in camera and speaker.

        • +1

Surely you didn’t just get this for the webcam and speakers tho?
I won’t even be connecting the speakers and I might give the webcam away.

          • @DarkDawg: I already had a monitor that was okay but only 1080p and a thousand cables everywhere.

USB-C and built in conferencing were major considerations.
