I really wish they would put a set together with Metric (or imperial) only. It seems like a waste of value and space because I rarely use imperial (once in the last 3 years). For an automotive kit, I think they should replace the imperial bits for the common ratchet spanner sizes (8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19) or maybe impact sockets.

  • no long extensions bars in there and imperial size fasteners are all but disappeared. Those ratchets look questionable.

    • I've used toolpro stuff before. It isn't bad. I prefer TTI ratchets but for the "prosumer" it's perfectly fine. And on special as well. Wouldn't pay full price but it's fine for what you get on special.

I have this and dont like it would prefer just metric

  • Wow you guys are so smart, I still need to service my car regularly at a service centre :(

      1. buy a 10 year old euro
      2. Take one look at the servicing costs
      3. learn to wrench
      4. Realise how much servicing centres are shafting us.
  • So other than a spark plug socket there is nothing to make this automotive. Not even feeler gauges.

Arghh. Half of it is SAE - I am in Australia with Japanese cars/moto
could i just get the other half for $99

    • cars that are made in the USA and sold in Australia ….are they metric or imperial ….?

      • metric. I own a jeep.

        • even they dont use their SAE bloat

commbank rewards has $10 cashback when you spend $60 or more.

  • really great kit if starting out with absolutely nothing.

down the line, sell the imperial wrenches and upgrade with ratcheting metric version.

sell imperial sockets and upgrade with 6 point metric impact bits

    this is the way.

    • Great idea. Will these upgrades still fit in the case?

      • you will have to start the great quest of finding tools that will fit the case

    • trying to sell tool pro sockets or spanners would be a challenge …cheap enough as it is and who wants to wait for the gumtree low baller to turn up …..

  • If I could buy just a metric kit I would, i have way too many tools but would like a complete in box tool kit like this that is metric only.

All their ToolPRO-X have Imperial sockets, WHY!!!

    • WA didn't complete conversion to metric until 1988, so there are still cars with imperial fasteners in some suburbs (you know the neighbour) …. but definetily on farms especially if they have USA made machinery …. these sets aren't just for fixing cars ….. yeah, also hate the imperial bloat but at what these sets are priced at alot of the cost is getting it onto the shelf and sold and the extra imperial pieces don't add much to the cost . It's less hassle than keeping imperial and metric sets and having to dust the imperial sets which then take up extra shelf space now 2 boxes on the shelf (one imp one metric) instead of one set (imp and metric in same box).

Same reason they combine left handed and right handed toilet roll in same package in the supermarket ….. easier than carrying 2 types of toilet roll :-)

      • I Have 2 old Holdens that are Imperial and I still dont want imperial tools
