I've still got two of the old version of this in my ute from 9 years ago. They've taken a beating.
I'd buy this except the old ones are still going strong.

    • I'm genuinely curious was it $10 back then too? Also, have to say to this just the RRP, there is no Discount here lads.

      • Mine's about 5 years old and going strong, can confirm - was $10 then.

Plus - it came with 3 or 4 other boxes of descending size (Baboushka Toolbox!), which have been very handy.

Looks like it's designed for my mum's sewing gear not tools from my shed.

Your mum's sewing box is a round biscuit tin, not this.

Be more specific. Danish Butter cookies

      • I think you've mistaken his mother for my mother..

Home use is about right, just a storage box. I wouldn't trust this to stay shut if dropped from hand height and spray tools everywhere.

    • +1

100% agreed. I bought one of these a while back to store some excess tools and it seems alright for ten bucks, but no way would I trust it for hard use.
Edit: I tell a lie; I went all out and splashed out on the $17 one, not this one.

  • I have one of these. it's crap, but it's good.

    • +9

get your mind clear about it being crap or good

      • it's like the drink you have before a camera is shoved up your bum.

        conflicting!

      • ever had a good crap?

    • +1

Agreed. It feels shitty quality (I mean it's $10 after all) but somehow it keeps on keepin on.

    • Not sure why all the downvotes, I had a giggle.. 😅

  • patiently waiting for the next super deal on super cheap auto pelican case rip-offs…

  • So there's no actual tools in here? just a storage box

    • Tha is corre

Maybe if he had some tools, he could fix his kb. Then if only he had a place to keep those tools in one organized (plastic) case - which is “crap, but good”

          MS Pain :(

        • no shi Sherlock

    • Good grief, man. What do you expect for ten bucks?!

To be fair, I don't think this is a deal. I think it's just their normal price.

  • hmm maybe for kids legos?

    • +1

I bought one of these a year or two back for my toddler's plastic tools as he wanted a "real toolbox". It's a good weight and size for that (he had one of those Bosch plastic workbenches) but the clasps are too tight for a small child to open.

  • This would have about 1/3 of the volume of the AEG and the only thing i could say is similar is the fact that it is a tool box.
I have an old one and it is rubbish. The clips falls off every now and then. One of the clear plastic compartments on the lid fall out. Mine was a different lid compartment design though

    • 1/3 of the volume of some particular AEG or all of them?

      • +2

Think he's referring to the linked one in the post..?

      • The one OP linked and said was similar. That AEG was 55L. This one is about 17L at best using the external dimensions on the website (435 x 210 x 190mm).

        • I see it now, ta.

  • +9

Just don't use the top small compartments, they're useless and easily open. All the small items you place there will drop on the floor and laugh at you.

    Otherwise good.

    • +1

I can confirm this, a bunch of nuts and buts had a good giggle at me last week when I knocked it over in garage. Quality of these is absolute shit, but for the price it is ok if your expectations are suitably low and just use internal storage. If you drop with tools in it then a better than average chance a clip or hinge will break

  • +2

    What was the original price?

    • +2

      $10. this is ozrrp

  • I have this and use it for hobby tools (pen knives, sanding sticks, small tools

Had no issues with it. Has been great for my uses

  • Another discounted tool box similar to this.

but it is at normal price https://pricehipster.com/product/d0grrbsgI7eKptOmz-wrdw~HJ1K…

Note to self: "You already have one, no need to buy another one just because it's cheap"

    • Exactly totally agreed (Unless it was like 1$ or something)

  • Pay $9 more and get the AEG box

    • It seems out of stock from Bunnings everywhere near me.. :-(

    • No stock in my state, shipping $10 interstate. so $19 item just became $29 item.

Eh, screw it, ill order a weed wacker too to make it worth

  • +1

Bought almost the same from Reject Shop for $3. Worth looking around.

  • i have this, nothing special. thin plastic, but i guess thick enough to not break for now. i wouldn't buy it again, i would like something a little bigger because it doesn't fit a lot of my tools in the bottom compartment.

  • +1

I store my oregano in it cause its inconspicuous LOL

  • I like these, i use mine as a good value fishing tackle box.

  • I actually own one of these, and its decent A lot better build quality compared to Cheap Repco mini plastic toolbox that i had whose plastic locking handle broke down. And hence is now kinda unusable. (Even superglue cant somehow glue it)

  • $17 Tactix 400mm box is much better quality.

  • +2

Think the price is the same..

  • $10 is the normal price like others have said, also it's a very flimsy box that won't fit any power tools. Great if all you want is to store screwdrivers etc but not a good comparison to the AEG one linked.

  • I've got this to hold my IT tools. Expect to have to tape down the storage lids on top as when you flip the main lid open those lids tend to pop open too.

  • for $10 its decent, I have one for tools and its ok.

the top semi clear covers both broke but what do u expect whens its plastic and you fill them with drill bits
