The real benefit of this deal is after adding 12% cashback and paying with 5% off gift cards (Suncorp Rewards, etc.). Brings it to $320.46 depending on the gift card denominations you can get. Even if you managed to save an extra 10% on Amazon gift cards in a previous deal, this is the cheapest these have ever been.

Looks like it’s not fixed yet. https://communitysecurity.eufylife.com/t/major-flaw-delete-h…
It’s nuts that this hasn’t been exposed on major tech blogs or by reviewers.
Can't believe Eufy hasn't fixed this after 12mths+. The cameras seem to tick every box with the exception of this massive flaw.
I only found out about this recently and I'm so disappointed.
I wonder what the ACCC would think about this.
Makes the products useless to anybody that knows this weakness.Probably they don’t want to fix it so you can pay subscription to save the video footage on cloud account.
Thanks for highlighting this flaw. I have this camera and didn't know about this.
You're absolutely right, watched / read reviews on this before purchase, and no one ever mentioned this flaw.
Maybe I should buy a cover or housing for the camera, atleast to hide the fact it is an Eufy.
Reading the thread in your link, it is so disappointing that Eufy isn't taking this serious.
$363 on good guys commercial.. wonder if cash back or e-gift cards work there
$357 on JB Commercial
Is this able to save to Eufy Cloud Storage?
Also is it able to be connected/powered with Ethernet and constantly stream the video (and save it)?
Yes - with subscription
No - there is no ethernet, but it does support RTSPThe video saves to the base when motion is detected and you can also live stream video if you need to using the app on a tablet or phone wherever you have internet/data access. You can also connect via RTSP. The based connects via wifi or ethernet and is constantly connected. The cameras are battery powered so constantly capturing video would drain the batteries pretty fast. I have to recharge my cameras roughly every 3 months. I much prefer this setup to a subscription-based service.
Im in two minds. These cameras are so easy to remove and with the rest flaw i just dunno.
Do the arlo have the same flaws?
I can't see them fixing the issue unfortunately - they'd have done it if it was an easy fix.
I've placed my external cameras 12ft or higher off the ground (connected to solar panels) - you'd need a ladder to get to them. The cams themselves have a siren/alarm and I have door sensors, motion detectors and internal cams, all of which would trigger the Homebase alarm. They'd also need to know that you have Eufy cams installed rather than many other similar-looking devices - don't use the "Eufy Security" sticker!
Hopefully this would be enough to deter a potential thief.
Not saying it's impossible….
I'm in the same boat. If someone did try to take a camera down I would have downloaded the video of their face by the the time they got to de-sync.
Not that video is much good unless the cops actually find them and you get to court. The main point of the cameras for us is seeing what is going on, and we've managed to scare off a few weirdo's with them.
Would have been nice to have some evidence to present to companies when wronged more than individuals (looking at you
HelloTheftHelloFresh)
I really don't think it affects the functionality. Mine are up high and pretty well tucked away so anyone who is upto no good would really need to find them first and would then need a step ladder to remove them. By that time the app would well and truly have notified me that motion has been detected. They would also need to know about the security flaw…very unlikely for opportuniistic thieves. So I'm prepared to take the risk.
In my experience, Arlo have nerfed the video quality over the past couple years through base station firmwares updates and compression on their end. What used to be a relatively clear image with my Pro 2 cameras is now pixelated, low bit rate footage which is pretty much unusable compared to when I first got them.
I have only just set up my system with 4 cams, video doorbell, motion sensor, alarm keypad and 3 door sensors.
Unlike your experience I have been extremely impressed with the video quality on live streaming and recordings, hence me investing in another 3.
What cameras do you have? I have the 2C Pros posted here. I am using Auto for Streaming and 2K HD for recordings.
Little confused by "compression their end". The video is stored locally on the Homebase. Unless you have a cloud subscription.
I was responding to Vote for Pedro re Arlo having flaws, which it does in my experience based on the above.
@tarnasaurus: Ah, fair enough. I also have 2 Arlo cams and haven't noticed any degradation on those either. But these are HD not 2K like the Eufy.
Foiled by a button press LOL
Cashback tracked (maxed out the $75 - lost $1), 5% gift cards used and 10% coupon applied. I've bought the 3 cam set and another solar panel to supplement my current setup.
Initial cost = $706, net cost $531.10. Very happy.
Thanks OP.
If you've got a homebase with a doorbell system already, can you use the 2nd homebase with this deal as another doorbell ringer at another location? If not, what can you do with the 2nd homebase?
$342 at bunnings
https://www.bunnings.com.au/eufy-security-2c-2-camera-pack-p…that's the 1080p version
On this one, I must be missing something but i cant find single 2c pro cameras anywhere
Have they fixed the sync button data wipe issue yet?
