does this remind you of something Wile e coyote would order from Acme to stop the road runner?

  • +4

I'll admit I don't know the first thing about automated parking bollards but this thing looks like the wind would blow it over.

Then again, it's probably just meant to be "informational" rather than functional.

    • 7kg and it looks like you can't drive over it. I assume must be bolted to the ground

    • +1

you'd bolt the base down to the concrete. a car probably could knock it down, but not without causing damage to the car.

      • A nudge bar will do

        • +2

It’s amazing what a brick can do to a glass window too!

  • What's the construction like inside? A strong motor and a transformer?

    • +2

Hi, yes these bollards are very robust in construction, They are completely built with steel, including the blue case and can take 2t of weight. They have also been tested completely underwater for a period of 30 min without influence to function.

However they are not meant to physically stop a car in it tracks when hit, the idea is to deter any vehicle from parking. If they are touched an alarm will sound for a period of time. If a vehicle was to hit them in the up position they will fold over to protect the motor, alarm will also sound.

      • were these tested underwater because submarine parking stealing is a thing?

        • Watch out for the yellow submarine.

    Thanks, bought for the wife.

Do you have many people driving over her ?

      • +2

No, but I know a lot of people would drive over jv.

  • If you have a thick foam and put it in front of car to avoid scratching. I think you should be able to slowly drive over this.

Then again it's a deterrent so will be effective; my guess.

    More bollocks then bollard

  • So many things wrong with this post:

    Coupon "ozparking" does not exist!
    All Prices Exclude GST

    Rep, this ain't B2B, you can't advertise ex-GST here.

    • +3

      you can't advertise ex-GST here.

According to the ATO and ACCC, it is illegal to advertise ex-GST prices to the general public, unless the GST-inclusive price is shown prominently.

      • how does that work for online oversea retailers? thanks the Gerry H. GST is being added at checkout.

        • how does that work for online oversea retailers?

          Ask their government.

Ahh Sorry M9 this is my first post, yeah our website is geared for B2B ext Gst. Was not expecting this much traffic on this post, i will work on getting this updated asap.

Only 30 minutes underwater. So people will still be able to use my river parking spot. No Deal.

  • Ohpee yeah would not suggest any electronics in an area that potentially floods or without adequate drainage. The test in substantial for any small flash flood or heavy rain that can occur.

My tonka Toyota would turn this into scrap metal

    • Hi RPS, you might be in for a shock. If you would like some further information or a product catalogue be sure to let me know, They are an excellent product, well thought out and constructed.

  • Thanks OP. Fair first post. I can see the value as a deterrent. Of course its not gonna stop a truck.

    • -2

      Why wouldn't it deter a truck ?

      • I said it wouldn’t stop a truck

        • -2

It's not going to stop a car either…

  • +1

Hi Pedro, yeah that's correct mate they work very well to stop the average person parking in your spot. If someone wants your park so bad that there willing to vandalise then let them have it, they will be very embarrassed thought when the alarm is going crazy and they have to drive away after the bollard won the battle. hahaah

  • So it's powered by a couple of 18650 batteries? How long will they last? Days? Weeks? Months?

    • Hi yes they are powered by rechargeable Lithium battery's, also comes with the charger. They have been tested to last 3-4 months per charge with a battery life of unto 2 years.

  • It is also very easy to change the battery's, the blue case can be unlocked using a provided keys and battery's swapped out.

  • Hi OP, can I have a copy of the data sheet please?
I see in the image that it uses a mobile phone to control. How does it work?

  • Hi Sol3x there is a Mobil app that can be downloaded. More then happy to provide the full data sheet. If you can shoot me through and email [email protected] I will reply straight away.

  • How does this charge? Any way to set up solar charging?

    • Looks like it takes 2 lithium batteries as per the images.

  • Hi They are supplied with Rechargeable battery's that last 3-4 months. The charger is also supplied.

  • I wonder why you'd manufacture a bollard and not paint it yellow? This thing will be knocked over the first overcast day, even by those with 20/20 vision.
