How much for a fast cooker?

    • +1

when it comes to rice fast is sometimes a requirement, the Xiaomi induction rice cooker is slowest I've ever used ….. cooks great rice but maybe be great because I'm hungry by the time it has cooked rice …..
wattage never seems to get mentioned with rice cookers just tiger vs cuckoo vs xaomi cs panasonic vs Kmart vs pot and stove top (for that authentic rice like grandmother used to cook).

TEFAL Rice and Slow Cooker $85.00

    and on CamelCamelCamel

    Average $83.84

  • This, Tiger, or Cuckoo lol

    • +1

      Tiger is the OG nostalgia

  • +3

used this before and I didn't like it. Couldn't get the rice right and I'm an asian

Tiger or Cuckoo over this any day

    • What was wrong with the rice?

    • The only advantage to being Asian and cooking rice is maybe being bale to read the manual in Chinese (or Japanese), Indians and Pakistani eat basmati, chinese and thai eat jasmine, japanese eat short grain rice …… so lucking out on cooking rice might be the type of rice being cooked, amount of water being used, and wattage of the cooker, I'm not Asian but I made up a cheat sheet for my rice cooker, and if I buyer a new one feel sure I might have to make up a new one to "perfect" it …..

P.S yes you can cook mexican style rice but that also needs to be adjusted.

What's the deal here? Price in title doesn't say what the RRP is or even if it's decent value? Camel shoes lowest was $73 awhile ago?

    • I just post it - its up to people to decide

      • +1

I'm assuming you post it considering it's a deal. Right? If you don't know it's a deal then why else would you post it? Makes no sense…

I can see RRP on Amazon shows $129. Having that in the title would make more sense.

  • Have one and love it! Not a rice expert on the level of uncle Roger but this is excellent and cooks amazing rice every-time !

  • A rice cooker deal on Chinese New Year. That’s a bit ricist.

How about a weapons deal for Australia day?

      • We could do with a few submarines. We're pretty vulnerable now.

        • we have drop bears, and for the records, we only lost to birds

A rice cooker deal on Chinese New Year. That’s a bit ricist.

It's Lunar New Year, not only Chinese celebrate this. You're ricist too

      • +2

        Totally agreed ntt.

      • Woosh
        ✈️

      • Maybe, but the Chinese celebrate it longer and harder.

  • Any good one for making Congee?

    • I bought one and very happy with the congee

  • What's a good rice cooker for making coconut rice? Mine keeps clicking off way too early.

    • You still have to wait 10-15mins even after it clicks.

      • But mine was clicking to warm soon after it started boiling. It's like the oil in the coconut milk starts frying at the bottom of the pot even though it's covered with liquid, and the heat isn't being distributed throughout the pot as it does when it's just water, and the extra local heat causes it to switch to warm prematurely.
