amaysim 1 Year Prepaid Mobile Plan (No Data, Unlimited Talk & Text) $60 @ amaysim (for Existing Customers Only)

550

Since dodo has scrapped the unlimited sms/calls at $5 a month this amaysim is the next best thing. No data included

This option is only available if you already have any amaysim plan and you change to it via app or website.

Now amaysim has esim so you could keep your main number for $60 a year unlimited calls and sms and then chuck in a cheap sim for data (for example the unidays Kogan @$1 for 30gb).

If you want unlimited data pair it with a Telstra/Vodafone/Optus mobile only sim at $15 a month (capped speed after 5gb I believe) and their perks (Telstra cinema tickets and other offers, Optus sport for example). You’ll have unlimited data/calls sms for $240 a year.

Talk and Text Only - $60/year Plan details

  • Auto-renews every 365 days
  • Unlimited standard talk & text
  • Additional data: $10 for 1GB
  • All for use in Australia

"This option is only available if you already have any amaysim plan and you change to it via app or website."
Si, what's the cheapest way to do this? Thinking of getting one for my kid when they go out by themselves.

    • +5

      Try starting with 2GB deal

      then use this deal

    • -1

You start with a $10 plan and then switch to the $60 plan which will cost $50

    • You used to be able to start with PAYG plan, and have the full credit, then switch to new plan using the credit (as long as you haven't used any, turn your mobile data off to be safe).

  • Seems only for existing targeted users not for new.

    • Yeh targeted for sure

      • +1

        Not targeted

        • I don’t see it from my account

    • Open for everyone if you sign on as a customer

  • +1

Since dodo has scrapped the unlimited sms/calls at $5 a month

I've still got this plan, will I lose it? Received no correspondence from Dodo.

    • Don’t move out then, perhaps they are allowing existing users to keep

    • I have it for a child, havent received any notice from Dodo either.

  • +3

    No DATA for this plan.

  • +4

Maybe sign up to this free plan and then convert?

    • $12, 2gb+calls/text inc then add another $60

  • Where are you getting the 60gb data for this plan?

  • It shows: Promotion - 50% off $60 TNT Only (16000). Valid to: 23 Jul 2022.

    • +1

      Where does it show that?

      • On the website, when you change your plan.

        • I have tried to change my plan on their website, but I could not see it. Anything I missed?

    • Where does this show?

      • On the website, when you change your plan.

    • +1

Does that mean it becomes $120 after?

  • I have logged into the website, but I could not see the amaysim 1 Year Prepaid Mobile Plan (60GB Data, Unlim Talk / Txt) $60, I only could see:

$60/year is the Talk and Text Only - NO Data

$120/year is the UNLIMITED 60GB with Unlimited standard talk & text

Anyone has luck to see the amaysim 1 Year Prepaid Mobile Plan (60GB Data, Unlim Talk / Txt) $60 plan?

    • No data for $60.

      • Thank you for correcting the title, the original title had "amaysim 1 Year Prepaid Mobile Plan (60GB Data, Unlim Talk / Txt) $60" which confused people.

  • +2

No data is useless unless all you do is talking

    • +2

This is a probably a great SIM card to use for that guy who was looking for a desk phone that uses 4G for his mum that only likes a landline.

Would also be useful if you are running a call centre.

    • If you have dual sim phones you could get a mobile plan from somewhere else. But of course not good for everyone.

    • So most of the elderly users out there?

    • I have duel sim in the phone with work number that has plenty of data.

I'm always look for something like this just to make and receive calls on my personal line.

      • Lucky! I wish I had free data :)

        • No free, just included. Unlimited data on felix and users say they get 500gb a month on average for $35

  • Possible to port another company's sim to this $60 deal if you have another amaysim sim ?

    • I think so, I don’t know if it’s targeted but I can see the option for both the sims I have got.

  • Oh no data Naaaa

    • It will come around again.

      • This was a price error?

        • Lots of people got the deal, including myself.

          • @WatchNerd: I know but thanks to Catch honored it. Not like those deals from Amaysim.

  • Still no wifi calling and optus reception is crap at my home.

  • Do we need to apply the 1GB data pack prior to using it to unlock the data usage or will it automatically charge $10 per GB?

    • I think it start automatically. Maybe chat to amaysim they are very good.

  • Did anyone get email from amaysim existing customers your next 3 renewals are on us?

    • Nope

    • I got $20 per months for the unlimited data and calls for the first recharge.

Perfect plan for kids that don't need data to call or message parents

  • This one has mms vs old $5 no mms right?
    Otherwise all the same

  • I'm thinking whether to switch from my $5 dodo plan to this as it has mms. Any suggestions

    • Why not? I think amaysim have great customer service too

      • Wait would it use data though? Maybe chat to amaysim

        • They said mms operates on diff band so it won't. The other difference is dodo include international mms while amaysim doesn't.

          Any other factors to consider?

          • @jes: You mean dodo has international sms but has no mms. I would say which one is more important to you?
Amaysim might be slightly better due to a very easy app that lets you add services.
Looking in the app I found:
            Call waiting
            Call forwarding
            International roaming
            Voicemail.

I think dodo doesn’t offer call forwarding and that could be handy to have?

Otherwise very similar plans and both use Optus

            • @fozzie: correct i meant international sms is included in dodo.

fozzie which plan are you on in amaysim? the call forwarding looks great.

both dodo and amaysim doesnt have teleconferencing though.

              • @jes: I’m currently on the special from Groupon with 10gb. I will move to Telstra soon though as I bought a $300 sim pack which is a bit silly as I forgot about this amaysim deal (so could had esim Telstra and amaysim for calls all for $240). I will probably move to this one if still available in 1 year time and get an esim for $15.

  • If I am on PAYG, can I use the remaining credit against the $60 when switching to this?

    • yes. top up your balance to $60 the change plans.

  • Wondering if data from my current plan will be carried over to this plan like a data bank?

    • What happens if I change plans?

If you decide to switch plans, your existing data bank balance will not be carried across to your new plan.

      I guess it won't, what a shame…

  • +1

Thanks OP, exactly what I was looking for for my daughter.

  • I got excited for a bit, would've been perfect for my second phone even if it only had a bit of data…

Anyone know if the data rolls over from a different plan?

    E.g data from this plan
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/644566

    • +1

      No it doesn’t unfortunately.

      • Dang, pretty crap plan IMO.

I reckon it is better to go with the 12 months + data for $120 (+$21 cashback from CB/shopback)

        or this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/678287

Hopefully a better plan comes along before my plan ends

        • I reckon this plan suits either someone who needs no data or someone with dual sim phone who wants lots of data and gets a second mobile only sim from one of the big players, with unlimited data at capped speed.

        • +1

Another option is to sim slut. Start off with the Kogan 60GB 90 days plan for $14.90.

    • You can add data for $10 per GB. Data doesn't roll over from previous plan.

  • No data, what is this insanity

    • dual sim andriod, put in a unlimited data @1.5mbs for $15 (or whatever doscount on that you find, I got 50% off Optus deal myself)

  • Previous AND they honoured it

365 Days Prepaid Mobile 120GB + Unlimited Talk & Text $30 (Was $150) - New Customers Only @ Catch Connect

    • +1

And? I don’t get how your comment is relevant.

I actually managed to get that offer but it was a price error. This deal it’s ongoing and might suit people that don’t need data or use something else (for example second sim) for their data.

  • can I use my credit as partial payment?

  • Still working?

    • -1

Yes and now you can also get esim, so if you have esim mobile you can have this as esim and then chuck in cheap sims for data (see Kogan unidays $1)

  • +1

Looking for a good number, well Amayasim let you generate some amazing ones and often they are FREE!
Next I did the $6/Unlimited+2gb 28days and then when activated added the $60 UNL talk/text, the data will expire and it wont recharge until the initial 28days expires so 13 months for $66 and an awesome number XX3456XX11 !!! Just use WIFI and hotspots for internet or use the dualsim of the andriod and take the half-price optus 12 month double data sim in the other slot for on the go internet (usaly its home in the 3g/4g/router) for holidays!

  • Can you receive sms overseas with this?

  • Does this deal still work?

    • Yes, still available

  • Got an email today for a special offer of $45 for the first year on this plan.

Would rather a few GBs of Data (12?) and stay at $60.

  • Bought with credit Amaysim gave by mistake!

When signed up for 120GB 6mth for $75 (less $60 cashback), somehow Amaysim also put $75 credit on my account!!
    Was upgraded to 150GB.

Forgot about it… A year later, received reminder the $75 credit was expiring today!
…Add $10 to retain credit for 365d or use it!

Wasn't going to spend any money on it. There are plenty of good SIM Deals!
And have other SIMs & plenty of data.

    So grabbed a year of calls & SMS ($60) + 1GB ($10) - FREE.

  • Can you use any previously banked data on this deal?

  • Anyone currently using this Amaysim plan and knows if its postpaid or prepaid plan?

Reason asking usually forwarding to another number like "no answer forward calls" is free on a postpaid plan while charged on prepaid plan

Well if you have an account number to this plan then surely its a postpaid plan

    EDIT:
On the DATA side as OP mentioned for $15 (Optus, Telstra & Optus) with 5gb data unlimited
Belong has there $15 data only plan with 20gb unlimited but capped speed is slower

    • Prepaid, in the app it says port forwarding will cost 20c a minute.

      • Dam all good still at $5 per month a very good deal
Even Belong $35 per month 100 GB data would be great addon with a dual sim mobile
Lots of options out there 👉👍👈

        • Yes, that’s true. With belong you could even have $15 a month (20gb), then buy cheap data from classified (so 80gb at 5c would cost about $4). Hence $19 approximately plus $5=$24 for unlimited calls and lots of data.
