        Yeah but $5, $6 or $7 doesn't make any difference. It's just the price of a large, extra large or super large coffee. Ridiculous that we worry about a few dollars for something that lasts 6 months and we don't care about a small snack that costs the same.

      The 2 GB makes it worthwhile. If it had no data or like 100 MB, then hard pass. At least with 2 GB you can use google maps, spotify, email and whatsapp

    Any ideas when other Optus MVNOs will get VoLTE and WiFi calling…they all seem to say 'watch this spot' for the past 12m or more!

    What does ‘6x 28-Day’ mean? Do you get 6 recharge vouchers, one to use per 28 days? Does the word ‘renewals’ here imply it’s for all customers, new and existing ? ‘Keep your existing mobile number or get a new one.’ could be interpreted both ways (existing number form amaysim vs existing number on other network).

    yes plan automatically recharge for 6 months.
    I think it is pretty common in telcos that "Keep your existing mobile number" means BYO (from another provider).

    I guess I’m not their target market because I still don’t understand what this 6x 28 days thing is. Do you pay the $7 once (up front), do you need to do anything every 28 days to ensure you don’t run out of credit, is it for new or existing amaysim users? I don’t even understand if this is technically prepaid or postpaid.

            @pennypincher98: To me it sounds like you’re getting 6 vouchers. But that’s from someone who is used to monthly postpaid plans. The whole 28 days makes it extra confusing, it it were monthly they could just call it a 6 month long expiry pre-paid plan with 2GB per ‘month’.

              @bozbargain: Yeah Amaysim cram 13 billing periods into a year so not technically 6 months but as for the below reply when I've received an amaysim SIM in the past it's restarted my plan - it'll say something like "we've noticed you've just started using your plan so we've restarted your billing cycle". You can also ask for this from a customer service agent.

            @inyaface: Yes data stops at 2 GB. You can disable auto top up data as well as auto recharge after the 6 month mark in the app. It has toggles.

      Thats the countdown time for this deal, but you have time till 22 Aug to redeem Groupon voucher on Amaysim. Two steps to get the SIM delivered.

      From some comments I find in this deal (including expired ones), a few people do not actually redeem Groupon voucher and just think it is done after purchase made on Groupon.

    I activated this sim plan last week. It shows that the plan is only valid to 29/12/2021 in my account, this means only 4x 28 days. Has anyone got the same?

      It could happen if your redemption date is many days(10+) apart from activation date. You probably miss out one free renewal. Have a read here.

      You probably redeemed the code on the 1 Aug from my calculation. Your 5th renewal date is still before 29 Dec so that it is free.

        My concern is whether the transaction has proceeded or not. From my and other's exp, Amaysim does not accept prepaid card for any purpose.

          Not sure about that. All Amaysim asked me was the normal payment details and the voucher code. After putting in the voucher, they didn't charge anything. Hope your service goes through tho

          Yeah i used normal credit card for groupon but used mastercard prepaid card for amaysim which went through fine since it did not require any payment done. I did it just to avoid the whole recharge process since i couldn't find where the toggle is that @humblecat mentioned :(

      Leave auto renew on but change payment info from credit/debit card/paypal to BPay instead, at end day 168 it will just stop if not re-charging.

    I got this plan from a previous deal.

    As soon as you redeem it on the amaysim website, the sim activates. So you effectively lose about a week waiting for the sim to be delivered to you. Still really cheap tho

    Be very careful with this, their sign up page is extremely buggy. If it bugs out then you lose the Groupon code as you've 'used' it already.

    Now if a provider did a 365 day plan with say 30gb data (in total) for $25 a year I reckon they would get a lot of signups from the elderly and stay at home people who mostly use their wifi at home instead of data

    Regretting signing up for the 6-month plan..very spotty 4G coverage in my area (3G most of the time) - this is outdoors too - contrary to the Optus coverage map, which is telling me I should have 4G outdoors. The phone is a Poco X3 Pro, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

          No. You'll just monitor the number of times they charge you and after the 6th time, disable auto recharge.
          If you do this now - or before the 6th time, the auto recharge will not deduct from your credit.

      Your Amaysim account already have this plan linked to your SIM. Activate your SIM when you received it will start the clock for 28 days. It will automatically recharge after every 28th days.
