    Or save 100% and eat good healthy food with lots of macronutrients instead.

  • Anyone tried out the protein powders and can comment on the flavouring?

      Thinking I might give it a go..

      The fact they are using Xylitol & Stevia rather than Aspartame etc is good.

      Not a bad price, but ~76% protein is on the low side for wpi

      If it's too plain to drink, it will get used in brekky and bikkies

  • Incase anyone else was wondering

      Holy shit since when is BN so expensive? Haven't used them in like 10 years I guess gaining popularity they've bumped up their prices quite a lot

      • Pricing is incorrect above surely..!

        Buy in bulk and save
        1kg = $40.00

        2kg (2 x 1kg) = $36.50 each
        3kg (3 x 1kg) = $34.33 each
        4kg (4 x 1kg) = $34.25 each
        5kg (5 x 1kg) = $32.80 each
        10kg (10 x 1kg) = $32.50 each
        15kg (15 x 1kg) = $32.00 each
        20kg (20 x 1kg) = $31.50 each

        • Yeah, I think they must have been calculating actual protein content per kg.

          It's the only thing that could add up to those figures

          • @nismo: That's exactly what I did. Lake Avenue only lists protein per serve not by percentage so I had to do some calculations to work out how good the deal was. Sorry if "1kg protein =" was not clear enough. It's the result of

            Lake Avenue Nutrition, Whey Protein + Probiotic, Chocolate Flavor, 2 lb (907 g)
            volume = 907
            price = 19.42
            serving = 36
            protein = 24
            totalProtein = (volume/serving) × protein
            kgRatio = 1,000 / totalProtein
            kgProtein Price = price × kgRatio

            With BN as well they charge a flat rate of $7 shipping which isn't included in the listed prices but is factored in to mine.

            • @X7odfsV3GVHMxw: I mentioned just above your original comment (2 days ago) that it's around 76% protein
              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11686518/redir

              Not very high for WPI.

              Personally, I just compare price per kilo (whole product) without going to your level, but good on you! 👍

              • @nismo: so which is better? is BN taste better for the extra $$ they charging?

                • +1

                  @canberrascooter: I prefer BN, out of the Aus companies that I've tried. Amino Z often have great deals on here too, but I prefer the taste & texture of the BN product.

                  Lake Avenue price went up $10 so I won't be buying it at $34 a pack. Deal seemed to finish early

                  Also, most of the Aus ones don't use Aus protein these days, unless they changed back again. Some use NZ, others from US etc

      The Lake Avenue protein were actually even cheaper a few days ago, i think they got sold out and the new discount isnt 50% off anymore, its 30% off.
