Several generations of my family have been regular patrons of BIG4 across Australia, but during COVID lockdown they showed zero compassion to my travelling parents (who were legally stuck in a BIG4 camp).
First, they tried to evict them - knowing full well they weren't allowed to go anywhere else (police had to intervene, telling BIG4 management what they proposed was against both the law, decency and health directive). Secondly, they charged my parents top rate for months in a situation where they had no other options, and still threatened to evict them during high season before they were allowed to return home.
I'm glad my folks were able to pay - they know families with kids in the same situation (BIG4 patrons when a lockdown started) who ended up sleeping in a car under a tarp for months.
Really made us rethink any future holidays with BIG4.
That’s terrible, who made you sleep outside in a car in a tarp. No go back parker st and go TO sleep in my room. I’m going to sleep outside, should tell me those things.

This is no surprise given their business model has been built on complacency and profit driven typical of the franchising model, your experience is dependent on the decency of the owner and if they're driven by greed, couple with their virtual monopoly in some small regional tourist hotspot, you'll be at their mercy.
Hi there, as you may be aware, BIG4 is essentially a marketing and membership based co-operative and each park in the BIG4 Group is individually owned and operated.
