Can I use The Good Guys gift cards for online purchases?

    • Shopback?

    • It was valid for a small purchase a year ago.

    • As per this Post

Cashback will not be paid on The Good Guys gift cards, Concierge or iTunes Cards.

      • +3

That's presumably meaning cashback won't be paid on the purchase of those gift cards, what's being asked about is whether you can use a good guys gift card to pay for something and still get cashback on it.

        • Make sense!!

    • +1

Still remains unclear whether we can stack this cashback deal with gift card as a mode of payment (not talking about purchase of gift card). Does anyone know with certainty?

      • +1

Hi @manofsteel, sorry for the delay.
As listed in our T&C's, Cashback is not applicable on orders paid with Gift Card - this is the info provided to us by TGG.

        Cheers!

        • +1

is shopback eligible if the website automatic applying "price beat discount"?

  • Is this applicable to tgg commercial?

    • no

    • never is..

    • +4

      Hasn't started yet.

23 Jan 6:00pm–23 Jan Today (AEDT)

  • +3

Was hoping to get a good fan but TGG doesn't seem to have any good deal at the moment.

    • +1

Vornado 660 is decent after cashback 200->170.

      • +6

Keep in mind to first minus GST before calculating cashback.

      • Vornado is terrible as a fan.

Just bought one does NOT do anything as a fan. A cheap Kmart fan is quiter and more effective.

Doesn't generate enough movement to get a noticeable flow in the living room.

Super loud even 6m away from sitting area.

        • +1

Isn't the Vornado an air circulator? It's not meant to serve the same purpose as those cheap Kmart fans

        • +4

I got the 633DC version and have found it excellent. Silent, powerful and very effective

        • I agree, it never really work for us either. I was happier with a direct fan for $15 from kmart.

        • +2

I've got the 633dc and use it as a air circulator.
The air con is in lounge and doesn't reach the bedrooms down the narrow hallways.
That's where the vornado comes in, it moves a large volume of air much more effectively than my fans can.

      • +2

It’s crazy how feedback can be so polarising.really on the fence

        • Just know it's not a fan ie. You won't feel the air blowing directly in your face if used as intended. It's more a focussed stream of air designed to be aimed at a wall to be dispersed around the room to so that air in the room doesn't feel stale.

If you want air blowing at your face then a fan is what you want.

        • Nah, it's because they buy a vornado that isn't the 660. The lower models just don't move enough air.

          • @metalslaw: I got the Dynabreeze $109 offering from Bunnings

            • @Jimothy Wongingtons: They are pretty decent actually. Probably move more air than a vornado, but at a higher dba. I got one years ago, but left it in a garage for a while (which occasionally had the door rolled up). Rusted up pretty quickly. :/

              • @metalslaw: Dang was going to use it for the rumpus and if okay was going to put one outside at home gym. Do you reckon coating in wd40 would help?

      • Don't think it's a deal, it was the cheapest at $139 before.

        • True, but that was at the end of a summer. So, if someone needs a fan now, it's a decent deal.

    • If you own your place, the best fan for air movement I've ever had was an "attic fan", which draws air through the house and the heat up & out. Best thing ever for a fan.

      • Whirly birds and insulation lol

Haven't used Shop back before. How's it work? Says only 3% when I click the link?

  • +3

I think this may be the biggest cashback deal ever for the Good Guys.

Nope, Cheddar had 40% late last year. I got $93 cashback from $232 sale value. @dealbot

  • If you can purchase using those Home gift cards then I'm in

    • -1

If you are buying$100 item ,I think it's fine.

  • how about buy a $1000 tv and get 15% back?

  • Hi guys,

Does anyone know if I'm able to use good guys concierge credit to be eligible for cashback? I think it works as a gift card so are you able to use gift cards to purchase and still be eligible for cashback ?

    • Did you read the terms and conditions?

    • For standard cashback, I've used Concierge credit and gotten it. Not sure about these extended cashbacks though.

    • From the above post (last line)

Cashback will not be paid on The Good Guys gift cards, Concierge or iTunes Cards.

  • wouldn't mind a new fitbit (charge 5), don't see how they are worth so much more than the previous model (which you can only get about $60 or so for second hand). Guess would still work out ok and watch out for a price drop in a year with 28 degrees.

  • Could you price match and then use Shopback in-store to get the 15% cashback?

    • Nvm the Good Guys in Geelong closes at 5PM, before the start of the cashback deal

      • yeah useless time period for in store

    • I would recommend you to buy it online and assuming if you are concierge member, you could then fill in online form for price guarantee (30 days) on approved competitors. You will be provided 120% of the price difference. It would really depend if the price is cheaper on approved competitor website. This way you would maximise the cashback and get additional store credit as well. I have used it method before.

        • hmm interesting, i was chasing 'catch' up today for a $520 purchase.. Have lodged a claim with ShopBack up from 26/12/2021, but it says wait til april.

          • @jonathan111: Do you have to wait until April for the funds to hit your bank account or just for ShopBack to acknowledge that you've qualified for it? It really shouldn't take weeks for 2 databases (Catch & ShopBack) to sync with each other.

            • @OZBargainer in SA: There is a message - We received your details and its being validated by catch you can expect a confirmation by 26 April 2022 when our partner store ensures that the order is attributed to shopback, and has fulfilled all terms and conditions applicable to the store.

Initially it was missing and I chased it up, but immediately when I made the payment I had a pop up saying shopback has recognised the transaction.

    • Unlucky, but consider it a lesson in the fact that the cookies are not controlled unless you're in their app. I've never had an issue with the Shopback app.

  • I've been waiting for a decent deal on a soundbar. I'll have to keep waiting

Add a qualifying product to your cart. Bask in the pre-celebratory adrenaline rush of 15% cashback. Let that feeling linger just a moment more. Now remove said product from your cart. 85% cashback! Winning!
