  • Amazing game!

LOL I'm still burned by the fact that I bought the old (non-remastered) version of this game on PS3 and never got around to playing it. There was no upgrade path to PS4. Not gonna fall for that again!

I've played through about 1/4 maybe on PS3, bought it before they stopped including PS3 Games at all in their sales. It's a great game, but yeah… I probably should just continue it on that console if I want to finish it lol. Or get it on switch.

    • Same haha. Trying to decide if I should get the remastered or just boot up my PS3

    • Same here - but I heard it gets so grindy and crap, I am kinda glad I didn't start.

BOY was there some hype when it launched tho.

I've actually played it 2x on the PS3. I'm not a huge fan of grinding in RPGs and in fact don't finish most. This one, I completed 2x.

        It was just delightful.

        • Good to see a differing opinion, I still have my PS3 too!

    Fantastic game, would definitely recommend!

    Okay, I'll have a go then :)

An underrated gem. Must buy if you love Ghibli films!

    Thanks OP

Thank you. Seems a good game. Bought a PC version to try because I don't have ps4 :)

  • Is it better than Ni no Kuni II ? I played Ni no Kuni II and can't finish it :/

    • +1

I heard it's very very grindy towards the end half and no where near as fun.

      • I only got partway through NNK2. I would definitely rank 1 to be better. What I don't know is, will I hunt for the DS rom to apply an apparently excellent fan translation.

This was the original NNK and had the same studio ghibli look and feel, and similar storylines, but vastly different gameplay. I've heard it's fantastic, but have yet to try it.

It is much better than 2 in my view! I found 2 pretty tedious, but I loved all of 1. They have pretty different battle systems as well.

    • +1

1 is much better. It has the Ghibli animated cutscenes too.

Good price for a great game, streets ahead of the sequel in my opinion.

Even downloaded The Wizard's Companion in a pdf for ease of use, just watch out for the last page for disguised spoilers if you haven't finished it first.

      Correct and correct.
NNK 1 > NNK 2 and the The Wizard's Companion is a great resource, really enhances the game.

For anyone wondering, this game is enhanced for PS4 Pro (and PS5) with 4K/30fps and 1440p/60fps resolution:

That's pretty cool, nice they put effort into that instead of just a lazy 1080p/30fps port.

[update] Just tried it on my PS5 and the game looks absolutely gorgeous. I think I'll be sticking to 4K/30fps as the motion is fluid enough for me.

P.S. those EULA screens that you have to agree to at the start are ridiculously long! Took me close to 60 seconds to fully scroll both of them.

    • If you have a TV that does motion smoothing it looks like 60fps anyway. Input lag doesn't really matter for this kind of game.

  • No Honey, No Kuni

    tidy, innit mun.

Ni no kuni : I want my mummy ! The video game

    • I heard that about it actually.
