Hi Ozbargainers,

I've had a couple of phone calls, emails and a PM about putting a deal together which includes Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and Cold & Flu. I'm guessing with many people either stuck at home or fearing being stuck at home they want their meds drawer full.

It's a really tough securing stock at Ozbargain friendly pricing at the moment with many items oos at wholesale level and many deliveries simply not arriving at all. Low or no stock leads to pharmacy reps not wanting to cut any "deals" so tonight's deal is a bit of mixed bag being: a combination of what I "think" people are looking for and what I can get my hands on at a reasonable price, I've managed to secured 50 of the below bundle for Ozbargainers tonight.

  • 100x Paracetamol 500mg (Sandoz, generic Panadol alternate), exp12/23
  • 96x Ibuprofen 200mg (Trust, generic Nurofen alternate), exp 01/23
  • 48x Cold & Flu, Day & Night PE (Pharmacy Action, generic Codral alternate) exp: 12/22
  • 70x Cetrine10mg (Dr Reddys, generic Zyrtec alternate) exp: 02/24
  • 70x Hayfexo 180mg (Dr Reddys, generic Telfast alternate) exp: 05/24
  • 20x Diarrhoea Relief S2 (Pharmacy Action, generic Imodium/Gastro Stop/Gastrex alternate) exp: 05/23

        • Which is cheaper than a box.

          • +2

            @MasterScythe: Because it's less than 20mm thick.
            Not because it's soft.

You can send a 20mm thick box and it will still cost the same as a letter.

    • +2

Mine came like that too, only way we could get these deals with the shipping prices tbh

As long as the foil isn't breached you'll be fine

      • Thanks for confirming. I was worried about consuming them but feel better about it now.

    • Anything "flat packed" is opened and flat packed to fit into an envelope - anything listed as express post will post boxes intact in a satchel, as long as the foil seals are intact there is no safety issue. If you do not want your item flat packed in the future please select satchel shipping and we ship boxes intact in a satchel.

  • Hi Op. I am after just Cetrine, Dr Reddys Cetirizine Hydrochloride 10mg - it is showing out of stock. any ETA on stock please?

can this be alternative for above? https://pharmacysavings.com.au/products/70-x-cetrelief-30-ta…
    Thanks.

  • 100x Paracetamol 500mg (Sandoz, generic Panadol alternate), exp12/23

That’s enough to last me 30 years!!!!

    • +3

Be grateful you don't live with pain 😉

      • +1

You must be one of the lucky ones where paracetamol works to reduce pain. Doesn’t do nothing to me except help to reduce fever.

        • If I don't have aspirin handy then paracetamol + ibuprofen for a migraine. Paracetamol is more general pain, tooth ache and all that. Ibuprofen for muscles, strain always.

  • Is there a generic Desonex yet? My partner finds it works better than Clarentine

  • Cold and Flu with PE in the name I always refer to as Placebo Edition as I swear they do nothing.

  • Zyrtec $1.00 per pill without shipping.
PharmacySavings Cetirizine $0.15 per pill with shipping.

  • Thanks OP! So quick to answer my request :)

  • OOS

Thanks everyone for your support - if anyone is keen on this deal but missed out please PM me and I will let you know if I have any surplus once all orders are packed (I usually under list what I actually have slightly in case of packing errors etc).

  • What's the theme of the next show bag, hopefully harder stuff lol

  • +2

All orders from last night now packed, 4x bundles left - restocked.

  • That Nexium substitute comes in at about 4x the PBS price. I'd love an annual supply of nexium if you can make it happen. Somewhere around $75 / 365 pills. Probably even up to $100 because I don't have to go get it every month.

  • It appears sold out on the website, any chance of another restock at all?

    Made in India.

    What could possibly go wrong…

    • +4

India makes a huge amount of the worlds medication - to the point western countries were dependent on India through the pandemic.

The only thing that could go wrong is that India could cut us off.

      source

      • -1

I have yet to encounter a single instance of a drug from my local pharmacy that is made in India.

        • +3

Hmmm… hate to break it to you, a reasonable % of everything in all pharmacies comes from India (its just not disclosed on the packaging)

          • -1

@jason101: The quality and regulatory controls, especially surrounding safety, is much stronger in US/Europe than India or China. This is why Australia sources most packaged drugs from these regions.

Where the active ingredient comes from is less important as to where it is ultimately tested for purity and safety before the final product is 'made' and packaged.

My body is a hindu temple and won't be ingesting any of your stuff.

@[Deactivated]: OK, we can respectfully disagree.

              • +3

@jason101: Don’t waste your time with this dude lol it’s a widely accepted fact

        • +3

If you buy a generic drug it probably comes from India.

    • +1

      Panadol is made in India.

  • Any chance throwing in a few OxyContin and Valium for an extra $20?
OxyContin works a treat for colds/flu.

    • +1

You aren't going to get prescription medicines without a prescription

    • Dexies
      What you think this is
No idea why anyone is leading up on all the Panadol and toilet paper lol.

    • -1

And coke. Coke would be nice.

  • Any one has spare diarrhoea tablets ? Ill buy. Urgently… cheers

  • Hi OP. I received ibuprofen 200mg expiring Aug2022. That's not what I expected. Short dated and lower strength.

    • Regarding the strength, I think the 300mg listed in the deal details and also on the website is very likely to be a typo and should have actually been 200mg.

I did a quick check and I'm pretty sure that Trust don't make a 300mg strength ibuprofen product (in Australia at least)

    • Yes this was a typo, apologies. When the deal posted the exp dates were correct, all new shipments of the ibuprofen (perversely) have a shorter exp date. If you are not happy please PM me and we'll work something out. Ibuprofen is near impossible to source at the moment, so I imagine the wholesalers are sending out whatever they can get their hands on.
