  • All the reviews seem to be great except for one or two in the last 6 months. This one caught my attention, in particular:

Contacted seller, seller no response. Seller sells a Non Australian version of Xiao Mi 3H,yet didn’t state in the ad. the power cord comes with it is totally different from 3 pins that we used to have. Purifier is not able to be use due to wrong version of power cord.

This begs the question: Are these overseas / Chinese models, and so comes with an AU adapter (which happened to be missing from the above user's unit)?

I mostly buy my Xiaomi gear from Gearbite. Don't know anything about NinjaBuy.

Unless the non-AU version is radically different, the power cord plugs in via a standard figure 8 plug, so is easily replaceable.

Not sure an “Australian” model even exists. Seems like Karen might be happier at harvey norman instead.

    • Mine came with EU plug, but regular figure 8 you’ve got lying around works fine

    • I wouldn't bother too much on models difference. These Xiao Mi products sold by local Oz retail distributors (like Gearbite, Mobileciti etc) are all from the same supplier (like a wholesale one). When they make an 'Oz version' one, most of the time only the power cord cable and plug got replaced. And pass Oz authority approval no issue. Transformers, circuit would mostly stay the same as the voltage in China is not much different here (not like Japan AC 110v). In this case Oz model not equal to better quality. I believe only warranty from retail shop matters.

I think theres an issue with the app which means you have to use the chinese app for chinese models. Not really up on it though

        • Yep. Same issue with their routers. If you buy the Chinese version instead of the Global version, you need to select China as the country within the mobile app. Thankfully, you can flash the firmware to the Global version.

        • Yes. Thanks for mention that. I missed this part. Would require some firmware upgrade to get it working. Experienced this when I bought some 'bargain' Xiaomi smart cam early days. Quite a headache.

        • You are correct. If you have Global and non-global Xiaomi devices, you can't use both within the app.

I had a bunch of Chinese automation sensors, cameras and gateway that I no longer use because I have two global devices (this Air Purifier plus a Roborock vaccuum) that won't work on the Chinese mainland location.

    • Pretty much to reinforce what others have said. The AU version is simply an AU figure 8 plug. Nothing more.

I bought my Viomi robot cleaner from them and it came with Australian Plug. I checked with them before buying and they said it was Australian model with local warranty. I took their word for it. Not sure about the air purifier. Pity I missed out on the deal yesterday. Reconfirmed with gearbite and they responded they have no more in stock.

thanks for sharing op! have more time to consider getting one of these haha

I have the older 2s and the pro models. Bought from these guys and gearbite. They app is in English and is set for Australia as region. The plug was AU plug.

  • Any deals on filters media?

  • Will this clean the Corona?

    • Pressing X for doubt.

  • I bought one of these a couple years ago. I found it didn't actually do much. Partly because the air in Australia is so clean (comparative to India/China) that it registers the air as not needing cleaning. You can override that though and force it to filter the air.

    • i mean, if you dont actually live in an area that suffers from wild fire, dust storms, or have allergy then there is no point in buying an air purifier in the first place..

      • Agreed.

If you live in apartment blocks, and have to deal with balcony smokers these devices should definitely come in handy.

  • cheap unit, expensive filter, and 3H is almost impossible to bypass buyers be aware
