  • Dang didnt get the offer and literally just put another purchase through :(

  • with the $200 one. is the $30 spend in one transaction or can it be multiple?

    • +2

Say you refer 5 people and they spend min 30 USD

      You would get 200 X 5 = $1,000

I believe it can be multiple transactions to achieve the value.

The app will tell you when you have reached it

  • Still waiting for my withdrawal on 01-01-22 to be processed..

    • Same here.

      • Have they come through now? I did another transfer yesterday (7/1) and were in bittrex today.

        • No, status is still Pending.

    • I withdrew an amount on 28/12/2021 into bittrex and it came after a few hours.

      • How much are fees if withdrawing into Bittrex?

        • +2

SG app ->> Bittrex (or Bitmart; or Metamask) = no fee

          • @tomclancy: Isn't there fees when converting to usdt?

            • +2

@nightelves: I sold some SG to USDT in the last couple of days (to gain $180) and the fee was between $1-2, so not much.

            • +1

@nightelves: Yes, small fee exchanging SGcoin to USDTcoin.

    • Waiting over a week for withdrawal to go through. Still “pending”
      Scam?

  • +1

Is this whole thing as scam or legit?

    • +4

Its been around for awhile. See any this is a scam videos? By no means it is perfect nor is the amount of cashback is accurate. As the price of SG can rise and fall. You could end up making actual profit.

      • TBH, there is so much fake crap out on the market (reviews, videos, posts etc), I lack trust on products like this. I asked the community as I trust the folks on ozbargain. I signed up as I have nothing to lose. I'm heavily involved in the stock market and understand how that works (similar in the ups and downs), but I've never really got crypto. Someone will always lose out big time for others to make $$$ (from what I understand with Bitcoin etc). Thanks for the feedback anyways mate :)

        • +3

          Np.

It is a minefield, no regulation and scams everywhere.

I must admit socialgood looks pretty scammy but would be an elaborate setup to be fake.

First rule of Crypto. Never respond to a DM request

Second rule. If support is offered don't do it. Esp decentralised exchanges. Check the URL is non phishing

Third rule. Do not give your 12 word passphrase to anyone

Forth rule. Buy low, sell high 😂

Read something the other day. 95% of people who hold BTC are actually in profit.

          • +3

@Korban Dallas: Sounds a lot like the stock market, especially rule 4 😂😂😂
It's not so much crypto or SC, it's just so many scams on the internet are becoming mainstream with facebook allowing anyone to pay for ads. The Green Mask Pore Cleansing Stick is a great example, where they claim the product pulls blackheads out of your skin. Really doesn't help that YouTube (in their wisdom) removed the dislike button and now it's even harder to tell if something is a fake paid review from an influencer than before.

I honestly just think in my 30's I'm sometimes getting tripped up with fake products (almost always get out of it by doing research before purchase), but what hope do the old, or we have when we are old.

            • +2

@Froot Loops: Also ensure all your passwords are unique and have some complexity.

I guess now you can shop with a little less worry getting scammed, you will get paid 100% back in SG 😂

I also recommend a crypto.com debit card. Link it to your PayPal for 2 to 3% back on your purchases through SG.

              https://crypto.com/cards

No gpay or apple pay which sucks.

Also free Spotify. Some early adopters were paid back like 230 CRO for a monthly payment of Spotify. Last time I checked one CRO is worth 70c

Use the referral system for crypto.com if you want to sign up. Kicking myself I didn't get the green one. Stuck with the red one for now.

              • +1

                @Korban Dallas: Thanks. Will do

                • +1

@Froot Loops: The physical card is extremely well made. Shiny and out of metal with holographed eagle.

💩 All over plastic bank cards.

One thing the card will not let you so is buy Crypto with crypto.

For instance, buying something from okcoin will not work.

                  • @Korban Dallas: Sweet. I have used them before, I just never looked at the benefits. Too bad you need to spend $50k on CRO to get Netflix and Prime. If it was $5k, I would likely take the risk. Might chuck $500 on and get Ruby Steel. I've been using Revolut (digital card but) and Crypto seems better than the 0.1% cashack (1% overseas). Revolut does have a killer exchange rate (Almost as good as ING) and has been good to wash money and send to the UK. Cheers for all the information. When I wake up, I have abit of reading and work to do

              • @Korban Dallas: Thanks for the crypto.com debit card suggestion. OMG all this crypto is this going to make my accounting complex lol

            • +2

@Froot Loops: There is an extension called Return YouTube Dislike which you can to display dislikes again. Available for Chrome and Firefox.

        • Yeah I am the same boat. Many have said, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

I don’t understand how they make money or at least pay the bills, where does that 100% cash back come from? AFAIK, When you exchange it to something else, you’re realising the value and how does SG pay for it? Maybe I’m too much of a crypto n00b. At the end of the day I’d transfer it back into actual AUD money I can use.

            • +1

@ilovefullprice: Thanks very much - I saw your other informative comments in that thread too.

              • @GeneralSkunk: No probs. Apart from the above, I would think the project team would also be carefully monitoring the supply and demand for the token. By carefully controlling the supply (based on its demand), you can control it’s price.

Tokenisation of things bring a whole new dimension to the world we live in. With tokenisation, you can only let your imagination fly on what possibilities that it can do.

This deal isn't for people that ask questions.

      It's free money. Take it.

      • +2

I have signed up. I seem to always get 0% with shopback on eBay, so I have nothing to lose really. Worse come to worse, maybe the person that I used their referral code will have more luck.

      • "If it sounds too good to be true…"

        Not always! (touches nose)

    • I made my first withdrawal request on 1st January. The status of that request is still "Pending".

I've sent about 10 messages to support since then and have received generic responses only.

      • Wow. Thats extremely poor business practice. I would love to know if anyone has been able to withdraw

        • +5

to be honest 10 messages is overreact

  • +2

Holy shit this is a volatile coin. Worth 40-90 cents depending on time of day?

    • Few things

      1. People can't HODL and when mass approvals happen they cash out

      2. Liquidity

      3. Bitmart hack

      • +1

Bitmart hack isn't ongoing like this is, other coins can deal with liquidity issues unlike this one so it seems the first is what's causing it.

All the withdrawals get approved at once so coin tanks?

        • +2

No, it's 98% of purchases are on eBay and eBay does bulk approvals at the end of each month. And when you have 50% cashback, people shop like mad. There are users who get 50-100k SG coins in a month.

      • +1

        What is bitmart hack

  • Waiting for my withdrawal to be processed since 3/1/22

  • +2

I got this offer and just completed it. Now waiting for approval

  • +1

Which is best for cashing out, bitmart or bittrex?

    • Need to look here. Currently SG/USDT on bitmart

      https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/socialgood/markets/

Higher the value the better it is for you.

Also volume / liquidity is high.

      • No bank withdrawal option for Bitmart unlike Bittrex - though Bittrex has a fraction of the liquidity. OP, how do you move it from Bitmart to AUD? Haven't tried Bitmart myself yet, the hack made me hesitate.

    • I’ve been moving to bittrex (had signed up to BitMart the day it was hacked) and then move to luno followed by withdrawal to Australian bank. I did link up my Australian bank to bittrex but the notes on ANZ re international transfer costs scared me.

  • How long does it usually take from pending SG to approved SG?

    • +1

My eBay purchases took a little over a month to approve, Aliexpress purchases are still pending over a month. I’d say it’s well worth the wait considering you’re given free SG.

  • I signed up to it about a month ago and already have US$1800-2000 (it's pretty volatile) worth in it. I still haven't worked out how to use it with the other apps (Bitmart & Metamask). Need to read and watch more video's.

    • What did you buy?

      • I have periods of big shopping on ebay. Some stuff for my motorbike and a phone for a client.

        • wow… thats serious coins. wish you all the best

  • I have joined SG for about three months, base on my personal experience, I do not think SG is trustworth. Almost everything is pending, and there are some missing shopping recorders, over all, I did not get anything so far. I will go back with Cas…ard or Sh..back for some certain cash back for sure.

    • +1

Have you shopped on eBay using SG app? You rather get 50% back on eBay or 2% via CR/SB?

      • +1

50% of $0 is still $0. I'm still waiting for approved SG from eBay and AliExpress too so I'm still reserving my judgement.

They've rejected one of my many eBay purchases (which was apparently returned/cancelled) and I've sent them photos showing otherwise, and have not heard anything for 3 weeks to that support ticket now. So their customer service also seems lacking - doesn't bode well for their brand…

        • Well if it's the odd 1 rejected, then I'd say its still a very high success. Regardless the reason for rejection (their error, or your error), and I have had my rejections due to cancellations, I'm way ahead using this than CR/SB.

I have sold lots of approved SG into 5 figures of USDT to date. Many other users have 6 figures.

I still have fears of a rug pull and the doubts, but with every months payout and cashout to USDT, this doubt lessens. But at the end of the day, I buy stuff that I need so I have nothing to lose.

The only real opportunity cost one has is the foregone 2% via CR/SB.

          • @lilkid28: Fair point, but as it stands it's still zero out of over two dozen purchases for me. One's definitely been rejected, the others are not yet approved, so I'll still hold off on a verdict until I see the result. As with many things on the internet, won't believe it until I actually experience it myself!

            • @aragornelessar: Yeah no probs, after thousands of purchases, I still have my doubts on how long it will last lol.

              • @lilkid28: Same, I can barely believe this will last. I've cashed out a few grand. How long have you been using it? How do you cash out? I've been transferring it to Bittrex, sell SG for USDT, convert USDT to USD, transfer USD to AU bank account. Downside is the spreads on Bittrex are huge and illiquid. I'm going to try Bitmart next time, they don't have a bank transfer option unfortunately so I will transfer the USDT to an Aussie exchange (some gas fees) for the final fiat conversion.

        • For eBay make sure your purchases are not in your cart or watchlist.

          • @rokufan:

For eBay make sure your purchases are not in your cart or watchlist.

Does it work on ebay auction wins? The app just says 50% for "regular purchases". I noticed for the auction ones, the item goes to the cart immediately then but I remove it from the cart before actually logging back in via SocialGood and then going through with payment process for the item

            • @aragornelessar: Sorry I don't know, it's not clear as you said. Either contact SG Support (they do respond) or do a little trial.

              • @rokufan: Yeah I've done both as a trial, have gotten nothing approved for both (except one as a rejection) and their I haven't heard a response from their support for about 3 weeks now…

                • @aragornelessar: I've contacted them via email and also their Facebook page and they responded both times in a couple of days. However, that was before the Christmas break and there is probably a big backlog. You could also publicly post your question on their Twitter or Telegram, and a follower, if not SG themselves, may answer.

  • How long does it take from pending to approved? I've shared these with my siblings they all have purchased items above $50 AUD.

Still, mine says pending. it's been in a pending state for the last 4 days.

  • wondering what's the catch?

how does SG make money out of this?

  • Is shopback and cashreward approval instant? If not then how long do users have to wait before they can withdraw?

    • +1

They take around 2-6 months, depends on the store.

      • +1

        I see. Thanks.

Can someone please help me understand why ozb/users don't mind waiting for 2mth to 6mth for shopback and cashreward to pay but go ape when SG takes 4 or more days to pay?

        • +3

They have too much FUD in crypto

  • Anyone having issues with eBay purchases tracking? Haven't had any go much longer than a day. My two from the 5th haven't tracked yet at about 48 hours. Not too concerned, but a bit surprised.

    • +1

Strange enough I have an AliExpress purchase made on the 5th Jan which didn’t track also. This is the only purchase I made on that day. All my other prior purchases to this date had tracked. I also made a purchase on the 6th Jan and it tracked.

    • +1

Have purchases from yesterday 6th and today 7th and they have all tracked. My guess is the two from 5th won't track, something must have done wrongly

      • I've sent them a support message, one of them I used coupons, but haven't had an issue before and it only says about some US/CA coupons. The other I didn't use anything, just searched through SG app, added to cart and checked out. I wouldn't mind except it was my $30 to get $100 that's been messed up because of it. They were about 7 hours apart too so strange that they both didn't track, especially when every single other purchase I've made has.

  • I got this offer again..
    Only 3 days ago
Should i get a xiaomi tablet for free plus getting $50 lol….

    • Do it. It's free money.

    • Careful. It doesn't go away until the timer runs out.

      Check your shopping history

      • Are you saying they maybe the same offer?

this one different. The previous entry now saying you have fulfilled, (yes i did bought)
and this new one says i have $30 more to go.

  • Just signed up for Social Good, but when trying to click through to a store it never loads… Anyone else seen this?

    • VPN or adblock?

      • Neither

      • Seems it might be a bug in the IOS version. Same issue on my ipad, and recent appstore reviews.

Installed via Bluestacks on my PC and it's fine. Hopefully they release an update fixing IOS soon.

    • AliExpress 100% cashback
    • eBay 50% cashback
    • small cashback for other stores
    • nothing for Amazon

Why do you think this is?

  • My ebay order tracked and cashback pending.
But AliExpress order hasn't tracked even though affiliated item.

    • What were the dates you made for both orders?

    • +1

My 8x purchases experiences says ali is faster than ebay so…. something off.thats why i hesistate buying big and expecting 100% ali back.

  • Made any purchases today? I find purchases made before 4PM would've been tracked by now (afternoon approval period). Had similar tracking problems on the 5th that never showed up (would've registered by the afternoon approval), thought it was the app so I uninstalled and reinstalled and it tracked 6th and 7th but nothing today.

    • When you uninstalled and reinstalled the app, did your purchase made on the 5th appeared and tracked?

      • +1

Nope, just thought there was something wrong with the built-in browser and tracking but considering the reports from others, seems there's some sort of outage on the 5th and I think there's some outage from today.
