Seems a good price for those that like barista almond milk. Normally sits at $4.38/L on Amazon (in an 8 pack), so a nice saving. Unsure of expiry date…
Enjoy!

Same as a normal almond but has a beard
I think it just froths better and from the 4-5 non-barista ones I've tried to make coffee with, taste better too.
Lol. Wasn't expecting a serious answer but that's interesting.
I make 1L of almond milk every few days (with one medjool date, pinch of salt and a teaspoon of vanilla essence). It takes less than 10min to make (soaking over night aside), tastes far better than store bought almond milk and has none of the crap found in this and others: Sugar, Sunflower Oil, Maltodextrin (From Corn), Acidity Regulators (340, 332), Stabilisers (418, 415, 410).
If you prefer to buy from a store, try this https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/260099/pur…
It has more almonds than the one above and fewer additives.
PS
I used the pureharvest one above for some time to make cappuccinos at home and found it to froth up well.
Can you share your method for making homemade almond milk please?
-Soak a cup of almonds overnight.
-Strain and rinse well.
-Place almonds in blender with 4 cups of water (or 3 if you like it thicker) and add a medjool date (don’t forget to remove the pip).
-Blend for around 1.5 mins.
-Pour into good quality hemp or cotton nut bag held over Pyrex 2l cup and squeeze milk out of bag leaving the pulp behind.
-Add pinch of salt and a teaspoon of vanilla, stir and pour into 1l bottle.
-Store in fridge for up to 5 days.
I find a vacuum blender produces less froth which makes it easier to strain, but any blender will do.
As for the pulp, I usually discard it, but it can be saved to make biscuits, etc.
I rinse the nut bag well and hang it up in the kitchen to dry until I use it again.
Awesome. Will give it a go. Cheers for the comprehensive instructions.
IME not soaking the almonds doesn't make it any worse - just blitz an extra 30sec.
@fantombloo: Yeah, I only soak overnight in case there’s actually some extra benefit from “activating” the almonds, who knows if there is? It’s no big deal anyway.
If one is really time poor they can also quickly whip up almond milk by blending one or two tablespoons of almond butter with water.
A two minute blend is a good idea – I should have said 1.5 to 2min. On my sister’s Sunbeam I let it run for two minutes to get it smooth. On a Vitamix etc, it may not be wise to go over that so as not to heat the mixture.
I rinse the nut bag well
Good hygiene!
The one you posted, Pureharvest Organic Almond Milk 1L has almost 2x the carbohydrates than Milk Lab. It uses rice syrup as sweeter.
Yeah, I’d also rather not have the rice syrup, but there’s close to 3 times as many almonds in the one I listed and almonds are relatively high in carbohydrates, at 20.50gms per 95gms. There’s not much difference between the two when we compare sugar content: 5g vs 4.3g per serve.
It's the added oils that I personally avoid, and the one I listed was the only one I could think of without added oil.
Ah interesting!
In terms of budget friendly barista almond milk, Milk Lab make the best tasting IMO. $3 is an excellent price for it.
Then I'd rate Sanitarium, and Australia's Own next.
Did not like Coles, Inside Out or Almond Breeze.

So no almonds in there?
What's a barista almond?
