Wait so if you don't have an american express card can you still buy it? O_O
EDIT: Just went to the check out saw it was an AE only sale haha

  • "21 speed Shimano groupset with Shimano Tourney Front Derailleur"

$199 sounds reasonable. Equivalent to one of the better K-mart bikes.

The "Normally $500" claim is deceptive and possibly fraudulent IMHO. Hence vote.

    • Yep seems pretty dodgy.
The actual Azzurri website doesn't have the bike specs listed (all I could find was an expected stock arrival date PDF).
Plus it looks like Cycling Express are the only people who stock these bikes, so who knows if their listed "RRP" is even accurate.

i love how the roma 700 is the only bike not reduced in price on their page http://www.cyclingexpress.com/cycling/bikes/flat-bar-road-co…

even the better roma 800 is listed at a lower price than the roma 700's "normal" price.

ditto for the shadow 700 on http://www.cyclingexpress.com/cycling/mtb-hard-tails.aspx

google cache shows the shadow 700 used to be $249 with a list price of $399 10 days ago http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:uru-LwO… but today it is worth $499

aldi offered a reasonable hybrid bike for $129 a while back http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_19218.htm

    • thanks for digging that up, the price listed on the AMEX special is indeed misleading, especially considering the list price has been changed to make the discount look better than it really is

    • Well done! Anybody googling the models will find this page on the first page, so it really helps expose the bastards.

    • too much of this sort of thing going on :(
