Our little ones love these Touch & Feel Books in the 'That's not my…' range, and at $6 we just stocked up on a few we didn't have.

        Really poor word choice. It's hard to describe.

        Using different words to describe exactly the same texture is confusing to kids. But especially when none of the words being used to describe that common texture are a part of daily language.

        You'd need to read it to understand what i mean.

        They're not all bad. But as the series gets long in the tooth they get a bit more desperate and do it more often.

          Also, it's a truck/bus. Very arbitrary, when would a child ever a) own a bus or b) touch it.

          Personally I wouldn't want my child touching bus bumpers lol

          I know what you mean. My son LOVES them, but every now and then the word they use is so odd that it's hard to see how it supports young children language development. The front cover of 'That's not my monster' shows this. 'His nose is too bobbly' when 'bobbly' isn't even a word. Hmmm.

              Not a great choice for an international audience to use a local term, but goes to support what some have said above.

            i dont think these are the best for language development but they are ok for
            - getting your kid interested in books
            - just sensory fun

            cant be worse than baby jake (that kids seem to love)

              I LOATHE that 2D Baby Jake. My girls loved it. Now that they've finally in school and have outgrown that show, my 2 year old has picked it up.

              And why the heck is the intro before each episode so long? Why did they bother to introduce ALL of his 8 siblings alphabetically ordered when they're irrelevant to the show?

      Helps if you elaborate. They actually all follow the same formula except with different subjects.

      That is not my koala is basically the same as that is not my wombat. You touch the same parts like nose, paws, ears etc. So if you have one you basically have them all. Unless you are particularly attached to a certain animal.

      Did send a few to friends overseas which are specifically Australian animals.

    Got the Koala one, pretty average imo, doesn't seem to interest the little one much.

    I'd recommend trying one before loading up on these.

    I remember reading "That's not my bunny!" to my eldest when he was a baby. He used to love it and would love to feel all the textures on each page. That was 14 years ago now. Far out.

    Not trying to rain on your parade Op. But my sister who has a few little ones told me that these books are $6 all year round at Kmart & that I shouldn’t believe in Amazon’s RRP.

    I still think it is a good deal for these books delivered though if you have Prime or don’t want to brave the chaos of your local Kmart.

    I loaded up on three of these a while back - they're not great except for sub 9mths olds imo.

    There's no real educational value coming from these compared with books like the 'Baby Touch' series (e.g. the Shapes book teaches babies shapes and provides sensory experience/fun).

      No. Way too young. Suggest Anthony Blabey or Mo Willems Pigeon books. More fun for adults to read too and quite entertaining.

      No, I wouldn't recommend these to kids over 2 years, or probably even over 18 months. These are too basic, don't really have a story line and are more for the sensory aspect.

      I don't have any 3+ yr recommendations though.

      No. Anything by Julia Donaldson is fantastic, there’s a ten pack available online that’s brilliant. Also Pig the Pug and Macca the Alpaca series are a hit with most 3yos
