[Refurb] Dyson V11 Outsize Vacuum Cleaner $899 ($854.05 with eBay Plus) Delivered @ Dyson eBay

801
PLBD5

A decent device that transfers dirt from one place to another. Nothing is gained or lost in the process but sometimes, it matters in the direction it goes.

This is a refurbished Dyson Vacuum Cleaner. I'm feeling a need to be refurbished myself given the past years so why not…

Happy new year ozbargainers!

"A decent device that transfers dirt from one place to another. Nothing is gained or lost in the process but sometimes, it matters in the direction it goes."
I am not going to buy one, but your poetic insight into the seemingly-mundane topic of vacuuming deserves a +1.

There is always an increase in entropy

  • +19

Has been in the low 900s before for brand new v11 outsize total clean. Take that into account when looking at this

  • +3

Includes the fluffy head, an absolute must for hard floors. Can’t justify the upgrade from a refurbished v10 absolute I got for $375 a couple of years back with stacked discounts.

    • But the fluffy head isn't outsize. It's laborious to wield the extra weight around hard floors

  • +20

These things must really suck if people are willing to pay $900 one, second-hand.

    • +3

Suckers are willing to pay for Dyson to suck! Please let's not question!!

    • I can confirm, Dysons suck a lot!

    • -1

Sadly, they really do. So much dust comes out of clean carpet. They do suck significantly better than most corded equivalents- so don’t understand why they don’t make a more powerful corded impeller style unit to dominate. Only thing I’ve used that’s got better suction is a Kirby. I nearly vomited at paying $750 for mine (grey import), but sadly it’s well worth it.

  • actually looking for a dyson atm… there is also the v8 on sale at dyson https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-v8-absolute-vacuum

    • +1

V8 to v10 or better is a big upgrade IF you have carpet

  • +10

Almost $900 for a second hand stick vacuum?

    Is Dyson the new Apple?

    • +8

      they've always been

    • +2

      The other way.

  • +1

    Refurb with a bad battery?

    • +2

More than likely a brand new one that someone realised was too heavy/big for their wee little wrists to manoeuvre (:

      • +5

Had a V11 for 18months, main issue is a few hairs can block the suction and will auto turn off.
In store demo shows you just need to push down and magically vacuum is empty, reality is will need to use a wet wipe to clean inside.

        • +1

Yeah it's a pain in the ass would never get it again . Controller broke and then few months later the head broke..

        • Don't have v11, but experienced this issue with V6,7,8. They really need to fix the gap between the flap thing and the barrel

      • Or it broke after 2 months like ours did…

  • +4

Waiting anxiously for Xiaomi G10 or V11 deal. Anyone know of a discounted price? Or vacuum died recently :s

    • $278 G10

      • So where is the deal? Best I am getting is 329$ from some site called azau

        • When its on sale ..you can get it on ebay ..gearbite seller
It goes on sale every 3months or so ..I guess

    • Late to the party I know but does it compare at all to the Dyson, ignoring price of course… I’d love to ditch Dyson but it sucks so goooooood

  • +1

checkout vacuum wars on youtube if you ever wanna know about decent vacuum / robot vacuum / carpet cleaner reviews

    • +2

I find that channel is biased towards shark products and doesnt release the actual data sheets of his tests, just flashes it across the screen.

      • Pause is an option 😂
To be fair shark is better in alot of them.. I have friends in the USA who swear by shark

        • They are better according to these reviews only.

          • @serpserpserp: I'm talking about people's personal thoughts on them unrelated to vacuum wars lol

      • Yup considering some people here say he's pushing shark it only came 3rd lol

  • I don't have a refurb Dyson handstick vacuum but got a refurb Dyson hairdryer
apart from not getting the original package, the item itself looks new (at least no scratches or sign of use from the surface)

bought it over a year and still going strong

    • +1 mine too

  • Suck deal

  • Would jump on if it's brand new. Refurbished ones might get issues down the track

    • It will suck even more? Or it won't suck enough?

    • Yeah they only offer 1 year warranty on refurbs, should be the same as new in my opinion,
Better value can also be had when they run bonus battery offers, a must for modest house

      • +1

        ACL go for years

        • Absolutely for a premium priced product, but it would be a mush easier process if not, no threats to get the ACCC involved

          • @thesainter: Dyson support is usually pretty good, I had a part on my V10 break a few months after the manufacturer warranty ended, booked it in with the service center and they replaced the main body + battery as well as the filter and all I paid was a service fee of like $50-60 or whatever it was (I actually can't remember).

    • If it's refurbished it means it had issues even when brand new.

      • +1

        Or user error
        Or change of mind return

        • But you would never know.

    • +1

We’ve had our refurb V10 Absolute for nearly 2 years without issues. The Mrs uses it literally every day. Got it for $450 from memory. I wouldn’t pay 2x for a V11 refurb

  • I have one, got it via qantas store when they had a '40% off' offer on a few items, i really like the size, lets me suck the entire house (4bd 3bathrooms)

  • Anyone else waiting for a deal on a V15?

    • Is that the top of the line model?

  • Wasn't impressed with it. Broke twice and the brush head is pretty terrible on hardfloors so got to get both heads if you got hard and carpet floors…

    • "brush head is pretty terrible on hardfloors" I saw that on multiple reviews… what a shame

  • these suck

  • Got the updated 'Total Clean' version for about the same price brand new during Black Friday sales. If you don't need the larger capacity bin, I'd recommend just going for the regular V11. It's not a bad vacuum, great for a larger house, can just get a bit unwieldy due to the weight and size is all.

  • I think I'd rather buy a brand new one but the price you pay is for the amazing customer service. My old Dyson from 2016 is still working and the company has sent me replacement parts for free over the years even though I was out of warranty. I'll still buy a Dyson after my old one dies

  • Bought a dreame T30 last time for about $500 and that thing sucks incredibly.

Could pick the missus's incredibly long hair off carpet as well as the swarm of fur my cats are leaving behind.

My V6 on the other hand was so embarassing it literally did nothing on the carpet.

Specwise it's slightly better than the v11 and slightly worst than v15 but the price is definitely better than this…

  • +2

Not sure why this has been upvoted by so many. I bought it brand new during black Friday sale for $905:

This is what I was told from an authorized Dyson repair technician and vacuum salesman.

"Dyson makes the BEST bagless vacuum cleaner on the market. But even a half-decent bagged vacuum will run circles around any bagless, including a Dyson."

Then he took me in the back and showed me the DOZENS of Dysons he had in for warranty service. He said he serviced 10 times more Dysons than all other brands combined.

He told me he's not trying to sell me a vacuum. He's just trying to talk me out of getting a Dyson as my next purchase.

    • +1

Bagged and bagless are two different products with different pros and cons? 😱

      • +1

bagged will always beat a bagless in suction power

        • unless you're commercial, convenience * effectiveness > total power. Doesn't matter if it has more power if people don't want to use it.

    • +8

I think he is a big ol' story-teller.

"But even a half-decent bagged vacuum will run circles around any bagless, including a Dyson" - vacuum tests have shown that the V10 and onwards dysons pick up 100% of the particles. It's the powerhead on the Dyson that make the big difference.

"He said he serviced 10 times more Dysons than all other brands combined." - Dyson has the vacuum market cornered, hence sales are higher, and nobody is taking their $100 vacuum to be repaired.

    • +2

Then he took me in the back and showed me the DOZENS of Dysons he had in for warranty service. He said he serviced 10 times more Dysons than all other brands combined.

If there are more Dysons out there, then there will be more getting serviced.

I think anyone who pays $900 for a vacuum cleaner full stop is lacking mental capacity
