So what happens at the end?

Did Tripitaka and the boys ever make to pick up the scriptures? 🐵🐷🐟🐴
They did! But it was only an illusion. :)
They had made it halfway there by the last episode.
The pilgrims still have as far to go as they have travelled. What
end can there be to a journey as long as life?
Thanks poster. Grabbed one
We had the best childhood.
Borne from an egg on a mountain top
Monkey was funky he never stopedMonkey was funky he never stoped
I don't recall him doing any excavation work either.
yeah he mined a tunnel through a mountain at one point
I'm my mind it's one of the most memorable scenes.
1980s, Afternoon Show after school on the ABC, Goodies, then go outside to call your cloud and whack your mates in a stick fight.
Also remember watching Doctor Who at nights on the ABC as well.
Yep, was just about to say 5:00PM weekdays on the ABC. Roger Ramjet played before it.
Ah yes, Roger Ramjet, he's our man, hero of a nation.
BTW kids, taking pills gives you incredible strength and kudos like a hero
Monkey was a children's show.
Goodies was an adult show in children's timeslot.
Man, I remember running around as a kid doing the blowing on fingers move to summon my cloud, which for some reason never worked…
I loved this show as a kid.
I wonder if it holds upOMG….what a show when I was young…pish pish…classic.
Of all the countless Monkey sagas, this is the best. Ahhh, such sweet memories watching this show (80s) back in the day.
The best part of the 2006 reboot/remake was this moment right here. Man's still got it.
Is that the same actor for Monkey? He's still got it alright.
It certainly is: Masaaki Sakai himself, showing the new kid how it's done.
@TruckTrespass: ..with more style and panache
That's great.
One of the scenes being shot in NSW (Carrington Falls near Illawara) was also good too.
Is there a version with the original Japanese audio? I've noticed all the DVD and Blu-ray editions here only have English audio.
AFAIK it's been lost. Wanted it also. Only the English dubbed version has survived. :(
I'd be happy even if they just redubbed with new Japanese voice actors
if they caught an Uber they would have those scriptures already.
FYI on Netflix also
