I see what they did there..

  • No-one can accuse them of hiding the ball…

i dont even know which is the fake one anymore….

  • This mob truly lives up to its business name.

    "That looks fake bro"
    "Correction, its FakeMe"

What a terrible name for a brand

    • It's next level genius imo

    • I think it's great, that would be my immediate reaction if my business got totally boned.

Only they turned it into a brand name to represent this. As artistic as it gets IMO

      • With that attitude, sooner or later Amazon will ban them again. Monopoly.

i say too pricey for a fake headset, no deal lol

  • Not a big fan of the brand name hahaha

    FAKEME? NO, FAKEYOU!

    So fake me, shake me
    Hate me, take me over

  • What is the difference between this https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09KZM995H and the OP version ?

What I feel like is,, that these are Tao Tronics headsets with a different name and the Tao Tronics branding removed. Even the photos in This Amazon listing looks very similar to TaoTronics listing photos on Catch.com.au(TaoTronics headsets are currently being sold at Catch).
Few months ago, TaoTronics was banned from selling on Amazon because of fake reviews. I really liked TaoTronics products but they suddenly disappeared from the Amazon Au. Online search revealed their store got banned.

      • ok thanks, both are the same price.

      • I ordered a similar vibe product recently and it wasn't Tao with the branding removed: it was literally just the Taotronics headphones. No rebranding, hasn't been touched, nothing. Which is what I wanted

        • Taotronics products are actually reasonable quality. I didn't feel great when they got banned. I was planning to buy few taotronics items but they were vanished from Amazon. I think they have started selling items different branding.

          • @sedi: Same here. I don't understand why they had to buy fake reviews in the first place. Very good quality headphones, earphones and Bluetooth device.

            • @zizoubka: Agencies… Someone must have promised them to "double their sales in 30 days", eventually causing Amazon to ban them.

If you look closely at the photos in the listing, the original taotronics logo on the side of the headphones is photoshopped out (poorly enough that you can see the outer edges of the logo) and theyve done it across all photos of the headphones in the listing.

They also didnt bother obscuring the FCC ID which shows BH090

        • Hahah. They didn't expect people to figure it out

          • @sedi: They are not trying to fool people, just Amazon.

            • +1

@bio: Agree. As per my previous experience, TaoTronics products are reasonably priced and are of good quality

    • Amazon - Ask and you shall receive

    Maybe it's pronounced "fa-ke-me". Errr….

From the specs these are Taotronics BH-090, ordered last Monday, delivery due Jan 4.
And these https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09C8DB1NK/ref=emc_b_5_t appear to be the BH-085 for $49.74

    • +1

How did you get the BH-085 for $49.74? Shows $89.99 for me?

      • Sorry - had the Mastercard $15 gift card fromn yesterday and it applied - Apologies I didnt see that $$64.79 is the price, will edit my original

I really feel like they’d be better off calling the brand Scinortoat on Amazon so we’d all have more of an idea if they were actually TTs

  • Is that TaoTronics' new name daring Amazon for previously dropping them? 😂🤣

  • +1

Somewhat tempted to pick these up to see what overear ANC is like. But I probably wont end up using it much, over ears are nice head warmers during winter, but clunky and warm during summers

  • FAKE-ME?
    FAK-EME?
    FA-KEME?

  • Good luck.

With that brand name, going to need it.

  • As long as they don't plaster the brand 'FAKEME' all over the headphone, it should be alright. If anything, I prefer the minimalistic look with no branding logos compared to the Taotronics original.

  • I guess the voucher mitigates the recent price increase.

  • So does it actually does active noise cancelling?

    • Yes it does… does.

  • Can't see the 50% coupon.
    Am I dumb?

  • +2

    Is this genuine FAKEME?

  • They must be good if they make you look like this

And check out the reviews and Q&As on the Amazon page. Not fake at all.

  • +1

To come out as bh090 they don't even try to remove the logo or even the change the box and its USB C and soft case

  • purchased 26/12 and received today - definitely BH090 taotronics (received in Taotronics box too)

  • I have 2x85's and a 90 and they are good products, but both the 85's had the same common problem.
For the first one (a few months before Taotronics *cough* "left" Amazon *cough*) they just sent a new one no questions asked (and the new one is still working), the second one was *cough* after *cough*, and Amazon offered me a refund.

    • Aside from the problem, which did you prefer between the 85 and 90?

      • They are very similar, I haven't tried side-by-side comparison.
