  • Does this do VGA output from Computer to DP input on a monitor?

Out of interest, who/what is using vga these days?

People who have a monitor with a vga port

      • I expect the people with monitors that have a vga port and use the vga are a vanishingly small subset of the people who have a monitor with a vga port. I suppose if you had to connect three monitors to a typical card/mb vga could be in the mix.

    • +1

I have a cheap video card with VGA, DVI and HDMI and have a 3 monitor set-up utilizing all 3 ports.
The VGA monitor (which also has DVI and HDMI) I only use in portrait mode for order entry (stocks) and it looks fine - no need to spend money on another card.

Exactly! I use two of these for some old dual monitor setup for my wifes WFH setup. No need to spend money unnecessarily on new monitors.

    • My school still uses monitors from the 2000s. We're planning to upgrade them soon, but it's what we have right now.

  • Be wary, this doesn't say its an active adaptor for the HDMI output. Most likely it's a passive adaptor, which means it just connects the display port connector to the HDMI socket with wires. This often causes problems, as display port signals are lower voltage than HDMI signals. Many HDMI devices can handle the lower voltage, but some can't. I found my HDMI KVM switch can't handle the lower voltage, so I had to buy an active adapter.

Active adaptors have a small circuit between the DisplayPort connector and the HDMI sockets, which increases the voltage to HDMI specifications.

  • Deal finished.

    • It is still there, but it will end on 12.26.
Just feel free to buy one if you need it.
You can contact us if there are any more questions after you receive it in the future.
      Best Regards
