40% off Google Nest Wi-Fi for Google OnHub Router Users @ Google Store

70

Google OnHub updates and support are ending so Google is offering 40% off Nest Wifi to OnHub users

Before December 19, 2022

Your OnHub router will continue to work as normal, but won’t receive any new software features or security updates. We recommend you upgrade to a new Wi-Fi setup today. A special discount code has been emailed to OnHub users only, for 40% off Nest Wifi on the Google Store. This promotional code is available for a limited time.*

After December 19, 2022

Your OnHub router will still provide a Wi-Fi signal, but you’ll no longer be able to manage it with the Google Home app.

  • You won’t be able to update things like Wi-Fi network settings, add additional Wifi devices, or run speed tests.
  • Google Assistant features like “Hey Google, pause my Wi-Fi” will stop working.
  • OnHub performance can’t be guaranteed.

Footnote:

*The promotional code must be redeemed by 11:59 PM (Pacific Time) on March 31, 2022 or it’ll expire.

OnHub updates and support are ending.

    How sad… 😞

  • Is the 40% off on top of existing offer - currently the 3 pack is at $300, so will the 3 pack be $180

    • I am seeing $399 for the router + 2 point. Am I missing something?

      • No you're right,my bad I misread the offer, it is $399 for the 3 pack

Wtf….I am fine with Google wifi

After I bought nest wifi..It will ask me to renew another one…It never end…omg

    • Same, this has me concerned too. They end app support and take features away. This can't be legal in Australia.

  • If anyone has a discount code they reckon they won't use, feel free to PM through to me :)

    • Also here for a code please

  • Ditto - if anyone has a code, it would be greatly appreciated :)

  • I'll put my hand in the draw too if anyone is feeling generous in sharing their code!

  • If the Nest wifi performance is anything like the OnHub experience, avoid like the plague. I had dead spots depending on the orientation of the device itself, which means the radiation pattern is not very even. Not to mention the throughput itself was terrible in mesh mode. I've moved on to Ubiquiti products and things are much better.

    • Mine (Gen 1) and my families (this model) have been rock solid.

You won’t be able to update things like Wi-Fi network settings, add additional Wifi devices

That's pretty rude. If I owned a Google WiFi and suddenly the device was deprecated, and random functionality stopped working, I would be pretty p*ssed off.

Wait till you look at Meraki routers and APs. ;)

Aside from the terrible subscription crippling nonsense…

The newer manufactured units are even ruder than usual and basically brick themselves if you try to access them via the terminal pins.

Which to avoid basically means having to program a 48-pin nand chip.

Bad for people trying to perform supply-chain attacks (not me, I swear), even worse for e-waste and 3rd party firmware enthusiasts.

    • Yep. I'm heavily invested in Google, and find their haphazard product support to be unnerving

    • You'd hope that the Google Wifi app would still work? Did they just deprecate the Home app? If it stops being configurable I'd be threatening legal action.

    • You are confusing OnHub and Google Wifi. Don't think OnHub actually made its way to Australia. Google Wifi was Google's second product, and Nest Wifi their 3rd

  • Seeking a code if anyone has a spare….

If Google screwed you over by crippling your current router, why would you want to buy another Google product?

    • Same, this is concerning.

  • any one able to donate the unused code please?

    thanks

  • If anyone can give me a code that would much appreciated :).

  • If anyone like to donate or sell an unused code, please DM me.
