Aint half bad, I got to about 3.9k with same parts on PCPP

      Aint half bad

I'd say it deserves a lot more praise than that. This is an EXCELLENT deal.

    • True also as per your build it seems the cooler isn't suitable for the Intel processor.

Warning!Intel Core i7-12700KF 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor and EVGA CLC 360 74.82 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler are not compatible.

      • -1

Also the mobo saying not compatible?

Warning!Gigabyte Z690M AORUS ELITE AX DDR4 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard and EVGA CLC 360 74.82 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler are not compatible.

        • +1

Nice Pickup, yeah some of these components seem incompatible or perhaps pc part picker is wrong or outdated.

          • @XxAiDsTaRxX: Cause 12th Gen has a new socket (LGA 1700) most coolers that aren't brand new are LGA 1200, the coolers support sites should/would send the bracket for 1700 (I had to do the same with my Arctic)

  • +2

    Thanks for the price breakdown/comparison!

  • +4

Pretty good price overall, almost offsets the current GPU price hikes.

    • yeah, just got one. Only 2 weeks waiting or so, shorter than a few other suppliers.

      • I got one and noticed the fans were installed incorrectly and I know someone else got one and it was wrong as well, so just check that. The top and back fan should not be sucking dirty air into the case and then blowing it through the radiator. The radiator fans should be on the very front of the case pushing fresh and through the radiator and into the case for the top and back fan to push it out. Other than that the PC is running great!

        • Yeah same issue here. I posted on whirlpool about it. Did you change it all around? Temps much better now? My GPU is struggling

          • @skinner84: Yep, I changed mine around. Notice about a 10 - 15 degree reduction while gaming. I emailed them to give them a heads up and they never responded.

            • @stillsinking: Yeah they're great when you can get hold of them. Best way is via their Facebook I've found

    • Isn't the rtx4080 coming out soon?

      • +7

5080 is just around the corner as well.

        • +5

May as well wait for the 6080 at that point.

  • +1

Be nicer with air instead of liquid cool but other than that p sweet.

    • why is that?

      • +14

More expensive air cooling can be fairly silent and in some cases provide better cooling

        https://youtu.be/23vjWtUpItk?t=536

        • -3

aio cooling is much quieter than air cooling, under full load my aio barely spin faster than idle at 62c max, with my stock ryzen air cooler on full load sounds like a jet engine

          • +9

            @viper8548: Stock coolers are cheap.

A half decent air cooler is quite nice.

          • +2

@viper8548: yeah but who is comparing to stock coolers they suck.

            • +1

@gakko: yeah i dont know what he's trying to prove here

      • +5

        Ease of maintaining

        • +6

Funny enough, this is the real reason I'd go with air over liquid cooling.

With time flying by so past recently, it's going to feel like you're having to service your PC every few weeks (sidenote: is it just me or did 2021 go by in a few weeks?)

          • @Zackeroo: Gotta dust off the air cooler every few months anyway, but I also have a fear of any water cooler just dripping/bursting and taking out everything else with it. So yeah no thanks, but water and computers just don't mix for me.

            • @dbmitch: Yea fair enough. I had water cooling on my PC but switched it out with air cooling due to lack of use.

      • Cheaper, just as good, and I think passive solutions are more satisfying than active (granted both use a fan).

    • +2

Yeah liquid coolers are pretty loud (too loud imo) unless you spend top dollar on a 360mm with good fans.

Just noticed this is a 360 but I do know the fans on these EVGA coolers are loud.

  • +8

I have one of their earlier builds with this case and AIO. Unless you wear headphones you're going to notice the loud fans of the AIO even at the lowest RPM. I recommend picking up something else (like Arctic) and putting them on it. I put Arctic on mine and they're now cooler as well as being much more quiet.

Also good to see they've taken feedback onboard and the builds are much better quality.

    • Good shit! Is artic cooler air hsf only +

      • No, Arctic also makes AIO liquid coolers if that's what you mean

    • To clarify I swapped the EVGA fans on the cooler with Arctic fans.

  • The 2699 EVGA 3080 deal around black friday week was a bit better imo. 2tb gen 4 SSD, less ram and an 11400f/z590 combo but arguably nicer model GPU and performs identically for gaming. I picked that one up and mostly happy with the build quality aside from AIO pipes mucking with the top fans.

    • Yep but these parts you don't need to upgrade anything

      • Exactly!!! The main reason for me to pull the trigger.

      • +1

What would you need to upgrade?

The 11400 was released in March 2021 and is a very competent CPU trading blows with the 5600x. Just because alder lake exists, doesn't mean you need to spend an additional 20-25% on the build.

I mean if you get the 12700 I can only imagine with that mindset one would still want to upgrade when new Intel 13th gen parts come out. And while we're at it may as well upgrade to 3090 as well ;)

You'll probably want to upgrade that measly 1tb SSD too ;)

        • Read again.

          • @bboT: Read what again? :)

            • +2

              @Canberralad92:

these parts you don't need to upgrade anything

This is what you were replying to. Seems you missed the part I bolded…

      • It'll be nice to have the Z690 & DDR5 mobo though. But then another price hike

    • +1

With the optional upgrades it came out to this $3181; (which I think I preferred but didn't pull the trigger)

  • How much would a system be like this excluding the GPU?COOLER? $1,000?
I assume there's faster CPUS available too.

Music production doesn't require any GPU, just trying to suss costs.

    • +1

You can use https://au.pcpartpicker.com/ and play around with it

      • Thank you

    • Luckily all intel cpus have some graphics processing so yep, no GPU needed to run the PC.

Hold up, you don't need GPU to render music/process or is that only video editing I'm thinking of.

      • Are you sure?

        • oh, did intel stop putting graphics in thier cpus?

          • @dbmitch: The 'K' CPU variants have the on-board GPU. The 'KF' variants like this one do not.

            • @skinner84: big rip, so they stopped doing them as standard.

that means @adelv is gonna need a GPU to run his music PC afterall.

      • Video editing, not music production.

AMD have integrated graphics I thought? :)

anyone know bout their returns/cancel policy? worried another deal might pop up that's better, don't wanna give in to fomo

    • Buy first, regret later.

    • No returns, unless faulty then they fix it

  • +1

I never thought I would upvote deals with intel processors, but here I am :D

  • Fantastic price

  • Best Deal you can get at the moment.

  • +1

Any thoughts on the way the AIO cooler is mounted? Re: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbGomv195sk.

    • I can't see the mounting in the deal pics, is it mounted incorrectly?

        Try that.

According to the vid, it's not mounted 'right'.

        • Oh yeah, front mounted with tubes up top. As per the video it's gonna cause issues.

I mean, if I was to just replace this with air cooler anyway, I guess it's still a good deal. Shame about it being built incorrectly though. Makes me not want to pull the trigger.

          • @Quantico: Lol it will be fine. If it really bothers you just change it yourself but it's not going to explode.

            • @Ostrk: I mean the video is pretty damning with regard to the different orientations.

But it's more that there's a right and a wrong way to mount these, and if they're mounting this wrong, then what else could be done incorrectly during build?

I'm not new to builds, but don't know anything about water cooling apart from that vid. I guess I'm just being cautious with $3300+shipping which is a lot for me.

              • +3

                @Quantico: It's not wrong.
Wrong would be to have the cooler at the bottom and the pump/block the highest point. Doing this would cause the air to pool at the pump and killing the pump as it needs the liquid to lubricate the bearings.

Mounting it with tubes up top means that you 'could' get some noise from the air pooling at the top of the rad, but it's not wrong. It's just not ideal in terms of NVH. So long the pump is lower then top of the rad its fine.

              • +2

@Quantico: Pipes aren't long enough to mount it the other way. It's not mounted wrong anyway as per the comment above.

Cooling with the stock fans on my build was really low anyway.

  • Worth the upgrade to 2TB Gen4 NVMe SSD for $189.00?

    • +2

Well a 2tb Gen4 SSD is going to set you back at least $365, so the upgrade cost is reasonable. If you play new games, the extra SSD space is probably good, I'd personally opt for it.

  • I don't get the point of a GPU dominant CPU … how come the xbox and PS current models are so much cheaper ..hard to find maybe..but cheaper than this CPU ..for gaming. I get the point of this GPU for mining but I assume most people seem to say it is a great deal mean it is a great deal for a gaming rig. I am obviously not into games, just curious..so is a mega powered GPU better for gaming than the latest gen of xbox or PS? I thought most games are designed for consoles, are companies bringing out games that can only run on these GPUs ? Just a noob question

    • +2

People just always want the latest thing even if they have no use for the additional power (whereas better GPU is always going to benefit gaming).

Hell, a 10400f is plenty of grunt to drive a 3080 at 1440p res and above.

    • PC can do other things as well, VR gaming for eg , can't do that on crappy GPU or Xbox

  • I feel so conflicted about getting this delivered pre-built from Melbourne to Queensland by Auspost, just because i've always received pretty battered packages in the post.

Just can't imagine every human interacting with the PC treating it like I would just putting it on my desk, nice and easy.

Am I being a scared idiot?

    • +1

No I think in the current busy season climate that all workers will be trying to pump out as much productivity as possible but at the same time they know your concerns so should be careful so my guestimate is yes and no or 50%.

I wonder what BPC Technology's policy on insurance and damages is.

I would hope they have a fairly good delivery rate.

    • +1

I think their problem is, they cover up to $1500, so if you're worried, I'd suggest contacting them, ensuring they will cover the total amount if damaged, and if there is an issue, at least you're covered.

      Quote from site;
"Fastway (Covered with up to $1500 insurance)"

      • Yeah it doesn't even give option of Fastaway, only :

Parcel Post (Australia Post, Signature on Delivery) - $96.59
Express Post (Australia Post, Signature on Delivery) -
        $288.09

The vendor commented in another OzB post that they don't use Fastaway if the purchase is over $1500, and use Auspost instead, but they didn't say if it's insured or not..

        • +1

I'd contact them and have them confirm, if they do, you can fall back on that assurance. If not, then it's up to you whether you chance it. If they don't, you could always offer to pay the extra for full insurance.

    • +1

Auspost insurance doesn't cover electronics sadly….which is pretty disappointing considering most things are electronic.

    • +1

I've received a build before from BPC Tech, they put in foam paddings inside the case so the components inside are less likely to move. Another reason they go AIO is that Air coolers are generally bulky and are more likely to get damaged during shipping. I would say it is as much as they can do. Shipping was through Fastway. It's still not going to be bulletproof from shipping, but mine fortunately came in one piece.

      • Are you happy with the build?

        • I ended up selling it off, the build was fine though.

        • I got one mid year. Was very happy with the build.

  • Page says 3200MHz RAM, post says 3600

    • On the page under Specs it has:
      Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL18 DDR4 Memory

But on the short summary at the top of hte page it has:
      32GB DDR4 3200Mhz RGB RAM

    • +1

Confirmed with the store, it’s 3600.

  • Great price OP. I have half this build in my new PC :)

  • +1

This looks great, I only wish I could have my own case instead of theirs

    • +5

You better go and source your own components.

  • +3

If it was c&c brisbane i probably would have bought it. I just couldnt get a built pc in the post. Too risky :(.

    • +2

I bought one from them mid year, came perfect in post. They keep it in the case box and put padding inside the case. No problems.

    • I was in the same boat. Unfortunately Brisbane has no cheap builders. I was lucky that my package wasn't stolen when fedex forged my signature on delivery and left it on my doorstep all day

  • +3

I got the black Friday 3080 deal. Was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition all the way to Perth.

    • @falcon5856 How long did it take to arrive in Perth?

      • +3

It shipped within 2 days then took about 7 days to arrive. They sent it via Australia post aswell even though it stated fastaway when I ordered it. If it's over 1500 cost I think they use Australia post as fastaway only cover 1500 with insurance.

        • +1

Thanks for the info. Really appreciated as I'm also in Perth.

    • thanks for the info!

  • Any idea of shipping timelines? Awaiting a response, but interested if others know.
