world's most popular self taught piano learning app.

      • Flowkey is more popular.

    • That's exactly what came to my mind too :-)

    • I completed all their courses, 3 stared(highest rating) all their 700+ songs, and watched both of twosetviolin's sp videos. simply piano would not let miracle happen, but quite effective to teach you the basics of playing piano and keep you motivated to engage in learning more. Today I finished all their stage 2 challenge songs (20 songs) plus 3 new songs in a hour with highest rating, and this is all because of the progress I made during my learning with simply piano.

I don't believe their ads and I think they are funny, however the app itself worths trying.

      • How many years did it take you to complete the 700 songs with 3 stars? Does it take 1 hour practice everyday?

        • +1

6 months and 2 hours a day on average

          • @Hsinking: I am now more motivated. I assumed when you started using simply piano, you had no formal training in piano. I used to use yousician but it stopped giving me free access, so I started using simply piano with one month free access, I think simply piano is better as it gives me greater selection of songs and helps me learn the song quicker as it breaks it down into smaller bits. Could I ask were you at pre advanced level after 6 months? I am almost convinced I should get one year access as I feel I might be able to reach a competent level to play sheet music on my own after one year. BTW, I watched the video review on flowkey, I think simply piano is better.

@htc: After clearing all the contents you will be at upper junior level: playing simple songs without any obstacles.

However if you are a beginner, reaching upper junior level in 6 months, all by yourself is still an achievement that worths celebration.

To reach intermediate level you may need to continue your learning via other apps and books, currently I am using piano marvel, it has a SARS score to evaluate one's piano skill, I was at 300+(junior) when I just cleared simply piano content, now I am at 440+ after two months, pretty close to the mean value of an intermediate player(470+).

          • @Hsinking: When you say 700 songs, I assumed you practise every single songs that were unlocked from the course, currently I only play the songs that I like outside the course.

  • Price is USD.

  • No price in title

  • Any good or free alternatives.

    • It is the cheap option. Do this if music lessons are too expensive.

It's a decent app, I don't think it would be fun if you have a piano without a usb connection.

The backing tracks are a bit cheesy and the vocalists covering the song are often not very good. Then again, neither is your/my piano playing, so maybe I shouldn't be too quick to judge!

  • any good price through VPN ?

  • Showing up as 199 for me.
