I still don't get how someone in good conscious get a bluetooth headphone, if they are going to do more than listening to audio/music (which tbh is fine). The codec drops to shocking quality when you are using the microphone, and that's with all android ones.

Switch between my cabled m50 and Bluetooth h9i and galaxy buds live and I have no issues. Not sure what you are talking about.

    • It's not ideal but it's fine for phone calls.

If you're listening to music during phone calls that's kinda weird.

i am sorry superroach but i dont see any decline in quality of the codecs when i am listening to music or calls.. my most used scenario is to be talking on calls .. and honestly these earbuds are much better ..

I could be way off, but I think they meant a scenario more like playing Fortnite and chatting with friends at the same time.

With microphone enabled the bluetooth profile drops down to HFP leaving you with a mono channel for audio output which sounds like trash when you have voice and in-game sounds all playing at once.

      • Should be HSP ie headset profile which is definitely better than HFP but not nearly as good quality wise as music codecs over A2DP

        • No, it's definitely HFP. Don't let the names fool you.

HSP (Headset Profile) received it's last update in 2008.

HFP (Hands-Free Profile) is the successor. It incorporates all functionality of HSP, offers better signal quality as well as support for extended controls like activating your phones voice assistant.

i use this earbuds everyday, it's a good headphone and very comfortable.

  • I hate how these (don't) fit. YMMV. I have found the Bose QC earbuds to be a great fit in comparison albeit they're also more than double the price. The noise cancelling on these Samsung buds are hopeless - near nothing is cancelled when I toggle from on to off back and forth.

i think about the fit .. these have a different technique .. and not the same as in-ear earphones ..
these should be just kept inside the ear and twist .. not sure how i can let you know on the text .. but there are a lot of youtube videos on how to place them in the ear ..

i was in the same boat when i bought them and nearly returned them .. but then i learned how to place them and now i think that these are one of the best earphones ..

    • If they fit, the noise cancelling is actually half decent.

I love how these fit once you put those little rubber things on - by far and away the most comfortable earphones i've owned. Once they're in, they stay in, rarely have issues with them.

Noise cancelling is just ok though, nothing special

And you can request a silicone sleeve from Samsung (for free) if you're finding that the Buds Live don't fit well.

      Link: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00087422/

I've requested a set before - you just need to go through the Support Chat.

      • Tried this the last few days with 5 different online agents and a manager phone call. The sleeves are not available. Then tried Facebook. Facebook person said she will send some out. Let's see what happens…
