Does anyone know if you need to buy the matching in-wall cistern to be able to use this? Or can it be an generic brand?
Needs to be designer shit, not generic.
I found some of the replies on ozbargain are full of sh!t…
Want to know this also please
Key consideration with any toilet install are whether the pan will fit your sewage connections:
Sewage connection - this can do either S trap sewage connection(floor) or P trap (wall)
S trap set-out: between 100 - 140mm (distance of centre of sewage outlet in floor from wall (check re wall cladding thickness: approx 20-25 mm?? = 10-13mm Gyprock + 10 - 12 mm wall tiling??)
P trap: 180mm (height of centre of sewage outlet above the floor-level that the pan will sit on (tile first - toilet pan will sit on tiles via on mortar bed (or silicon if "allowable" !!!)
Staffer in Bunnings plumbing (from whom I often get a good steer) told me that Bunnings don't have any of the matching wall brackets to hang these left, nor even the in-wall cisterns - hence they are clearing these. A couple of stores in Brisbane have had them a very cheap over past couple of months.
In-wall cisterns are a particular challenge to design to fit, given working out how you will access the cistern to do maintenance on a regular basis without having to remove wall tiles or etc - thus likely to be more usable for a new build rather than a reno which is just a cosmetic renewal - unless you already have an in-wall cistern that you're replacing. I decided to pass on these - after even considering placing a conventional wall-hung cistern at usual height on one side of the pan, and then running the water pipe inside the wall. Again, this would create potential maintenance challenges for the pipe - though much less so than a whole cistern. Also, such a design would be tough to get plumbing approval for - and risk water leakage onto wall's timber frame to attract termites. If trap set-outs allow, the design option that made most sense to me were either (a) box a cistern bulkhead out from the wall, or (b) construct a half-wall that this will back into, out from one of the room's walls. On top of either of these, I would put timber a "shelf" top that can be removed to access the cistern for maintenance.
Overall, not worth the cost and effort to try to make fit, especially when the cost of the in-wall cistern system and compatible wall flush buttons will likely well surpass any saving made in the cost of the pan.
Avoid - unless you're really sure of sourcing a good price on both an in-wall cistern and wall flush buttons, and/or know how you will make it fit into your space! Better off with the $155 Estilo suite which is a rimless pan, with a vitreous cistern (rather than PVC) has a soft-close seat, and comes in either P or S models.
At least yours is white.

Looks like a nationwide deal, but limited stock. Stock in Thomastown VIC.
This is a decent bargain! If you’re renovating or the like.
I've got one of these, easy to clean. Paid full price a few years back
Just here for the comments whilst having a crap and making a concerto myself!
Are these "sh*t"? Hence the low price?
